AF (TMI)

So the witch came back. And I'm flooding. Seriously, FLOODING. Yesterday if I didn't stop and change my pad every 3 hours I leaked through. As in the whole pad from front to back was completely saturated by that point. I WAS WEARING MY POST PARTUM SUPER DUPER PADS. I am seriously bleeding more than I ever have in my life. It's 10xs worse than after Aiden was born. Last night I woke up after 4 hours of sleep because there was an actual puddle of blood in the bed. It was super gross and poor Aiden had to be cleaned up too. Sad I just want to cry. I don't know what to do with myself. Is this normal because it's been so long? Or does my body just hate me?
Funny enough I have zero cramping. I'm just my own river.

OMG!!! that sucks Sad i think it's different for every person. AF came back at 6 months pp and it was just like a regular period for me..i have heard that the first period after giving birth can be really heavy though.

Wow!!! That is awful to deal with that anytime, but especially while you are travelling. My first one back had bad cramping, but not normal everything else. Sorry you are having to deal with this.

Wow, that's crazy. Maybe just mention it to your doctor? It does sound like alot to me, especially if it's even more than your pp bleeding. But if it's already getting lighter I'm sure it's fine. Yay for no cramps though!!!

I havent gotten af back yet thankfully!! *crosses fingers that I just didnt jinx myself*

What crummy timing!

I have to say, I'd rather have that problem than bad cramps.

Ugh! I'm sorry she decided to return while you're away from home. I think it's pretty normal for the first few to be really heavy. I guess it's the price we pay for not having a period in well over a year. If it doesn't start to let up in a day or so, I'd put a call in to your doc at home.

I still don't have AF (fingers crossed) though I do expect it to return soon... It seems like I'm only BFing twice maybe three times a day now... I mean today, I JUST BF'd... and it's 4pm here!!! Shok However, I hear it can make a dramatic comeback! Sad I hope this doesn't last long for you!! If I was bleeding that much, I'd call my Dr just to be safe!

Oh no, I'l check in with the doctor to be safe as well.

After DS1 I had a crazy 1st one too but not nearly that bad. Last week when AF finally showed, it was really short and light. Not sure why it varies like that.

I'm sorry that has to suck. * touch wood* I still haven't got AF back, and if Ronin keeps up like last night probably never will. I hope it eases up for you today, but if it keeps up that heavy I bwould see a doctor, just to make sure all is ok. Keep up with iron rich foods too, I know a few times if I have had really heavy AF I have started to feel run down like I have low iron.

Wow, that's exactly what you want: AF to return with a mad vengence when you are taking a loong roadtrip out of town! Nice!

Honestly mine was lighter than I was used, but this last one was throwback to the old days. I hear it's normal for the first one to be a ocean, but if it seems odd to you, get it checked out. Let's hope it's short to make up for it!

AF returned for me at 6months pp, but so far all have been lighter or normal and less cramps than pre pregnancy. I agree if the bleeding doesn't let up, give your doc a call just to make sure its ok.

Well, I didn't bleed through my pad last night, so I guess we can say it's lighter! It's now what I'm used to dealing with. Guess I'll see what the next one brings. *sigh* The past two days have just been super miserable. Sad I thought about calling a doctor, but I don't have a doctor to call. Spouses get to deal with flight med docs too which means we always get pushed back for active duty.
It is nice to hear that it's not completely unheard of for the 1st AF to be heavy. Guess I'll see how long it lasts.

I'm glad you posted this or I would have been really freaked out when I got up this morning. AF came back yesterday, and overnight I had the same experience you had!

With DD1, I was on the minipill while nursing, then when she weaned I went straight to the regular pill, so AF came right when planned and was just like it had been pre-baby. This time, no hormonal BC and it's very different!
