Allergic to bananas?

I've given Emma bananas three times in total. Last night she had them with dinner. Sometime in the night, she threw up and then slept in it  This morning her chest is broken out, her stomach a little bit, and her face (especially one half, which we assume, is the half that laid in vomit while she slept). My husband thinks it is just irritation from her sleeping in the vomit but I don't agree. I am going to give her a little Benadryl when hubby gets home [with it] so hopefully that will help her. Any thoughts?

I'd say it's probably the bananas. The DD of a friend of mine had pretty much the same reaction to bananas. Is her diaper area irritated. That would pretty much tell you it's the bananas for sure, unless none of it made it that far.

I would assume the same thing if that happened to Lyla. She has vomited after eating solids, but has not yet had a skin reaction. However, DH let Lyla lick some chocolate a little over a month ago and she broke out in acne-like bumps on her face the next day. That happened again after visiting my parents and my mom snuck her a taste of vanilla ice cream when I wasn't looking (AFTER I specifically told her not to).

KUP on how the benadryl works.

Her diaper area looks fine but she hasn't had a bm yet since she ate the bananas. Right now it looks to be her trunk, neck, and head.

THIS. She has the acne like bumps as well as reddening of the skin. Hubby just arrived so it's Benadryl time.

I would assume it is the bananas. I would stop giving them to her for now. Maybe in a few months you can try again just to be sure. That's how we found out my DD was allergic to mango - we tried it again after keeping her off of them for 6 wks and she had the same reaction, so I haven't given her any since.
