Not bad at all. You're saving him from all that chocolate. My neighbor brought over the usual holiday plate of cupcakes and a few things for T. I've already downed a chocolate bunny and I'm dipping into a cupcake. I figure I need something to balance out the wine I'm downing :).

Mmmm wine. I have half a bottle in the fridge that I am hoping will make it's way into my menu tonight. I live in hope Ronin will sleep so I can have some wine and watch trashy tv shows or read a trashy novel.

What's Aussie TV like? Do they air many American shows?

I have no idea what to watch, I watch them all online because we don't get a lot of them here and if we do they are often on pay tv only which I find to be a huge waste of money so reguse to get it. We tend to just deal with 16 channells and nothing on rather than addding more channels we have to pay for with nothing on.

A lot of our shows are American, just not as many as you guys have I guess. We also get English shows as well as local shows.

We don't subscribe to pay channels either. We just started using Amazon Prime for certain shows as a trial but we're ticked off because they've made it so we can't play most shows on our TV. Mostly, we use Hulu. We have so little time to watch TV it really doesn't make sense to pay for it and we're never able to watch shows when they're actually on anyway.

We don't have access to any of those. I use project free TV to watch mine. Pay TV here says they have so many shows, but they also repeat constantly like the same show is on three to four times a day. So not paying for that

I've had to hide all the candy. She had one chocolate peanut butter egg and then proceeded to demand more.

Did you know Kindereggs are considered to be unsafe here and you can't find them anywhere? There is seriously a snuggling ring for military wives to get them into the country. Lol

I was supposed to have bought Aiden milk chocolate for his basket this week, but considering yesterday was the first day I've left the house that didn't happen. Instead he got goldfish, gummy snacks, and girl scout cookies in his Easter eggs (aka, Mommy raided the pantry at midnight). He loves the Carmel Delights girl scout cookies at least. lol

really? unsafe because of the toy? the toy in his was fine it was a blow up ball but i wouldn't have given t to him if it was no good. They also now have kinder egg kits with different chocolates so they don't all have a toy.

that is crazy that you don't have them there, and sad because they are delicious:)

Wow, they are super easy to get here, and you can also buy kinder bars here without a toy. If they wouldn't melt I'd send you some.

Ronin was terrible last night, after sleeping 4.5 hours in his own room he woke up and it went downhill, including him screaming for a good part of the night. He ended up sleeping on my chest for awhile and yoy know what, I totally miss those baby snuggle days. Eventually he ended up settling, he pooped (again, it was like number 5 for the day) and I changed his nappy and noticed he is rashing up again. I think maybe more teeth because it looks like his teething rashes. Glad I have today off work because I am soooo tired.

oh they are REALLY easy to get here. it's pretty much all Lucas got from anyone.

Lol it's weird to hear someone ask that because they are so popular.

they are these

they usually have a little toy inside but the eggs say right on them not for 0-3. also, just give the kids the chocolate part??

lucas is having a really hard time settling tonight. I put him down 1.5 hours ago and i keep hearing him fussing and moving around. maybe it's all the chocolate people were giving him at dinner

It happens pretty much everytime teeth start moving, he rashes so badly when teething, his urine is so acidic, all I can do is keep forcing him to drink water and coating his bum in heavy duty nappy rash creams.

You can also get the kinder surpise chocolate as a bar, so no concerns with the toy with small parts and just the yummy chocolate

So the kinder egg chocolate is pretty good?

I think I would prefer the cadbury eggs with the yummy gooey centers. mmmmmmmmmmm......good stuff!

I found an off brand egg which was divine, it was dark chocolate with peppermint, I just had one and now want more. Hubby was going to get me one of their versions of a creme egg, but I wanted the peppermint

ya they are pretty good. they are also popular with little kids because of the toys and hollow eggs. They are a hazelnutty flavour. Yum!

i also love the cadbury eggs with the gooey middles

Mmm I am making Jackie's baked oatmeal. Yummy, though I had no brown sugar so had to substiturte with normal sugar and thought I had raspberries in the freezer but it was mixed berries. Easter has taken it's toll on my weight and I am up a kilogram. I should be sleeping while Ronin is, or at least resting, but instead I am looking online for things to buy. I am so bad.

Aiden has really enjoyed running up to me saying the "B" sound while pulling on my shirt. He's still nursing quite a bit and we're both fairly back to normal from our colds this week. It beats what he was doing at least - trying to latch on through my shirt.

Fat isn't that perfect baby bump round.

Its NOT fat, Jackie. Who gains fat like that? No one. Well, some women do and that's while I would NEVER comment on a stranger's belly unless a baby were popping out between her legs. But not you. That's a perfect little baby bump.

I'm on my third cadbury cream egg of the night. So yummy.

Started a meatless Monday dinner, sweet potato and chickpea patties. Seriously Ronin wants to nurse again, like an hour after his marathon hour long nurse session and lunch

Jackie, that is a very cute and very obvious baby bump! I remember thinking too early on that I couldn't possibly be showing yet but mine never went away.

I hope everyone had a great Easter holiday. I really wanted to dress up Lyla and take pictures of her, but just couldn't manage it yesterday. She did get an Easter basket full of candy from MIL, so she got something.

I forgot how confusing a newborn can be. This one has a 3 to 4 hour span in the evening where he is on the boob nonstop but at other times will go 5 hours without nursing. I try not to let him go more than 3. I'm not sure how reliable my timekeeping is because DH just informed me that he gave me a pain pill around 5am when I was nursing him, but I was certain that he hadn't nursed since 2am, and was trying to argue with DH that he just gave me the pill a few minutes ago. . . :dontknow:

I guess one of these days I'll get caught up on sleep and maybe my brain will work again.

Jackie, that is definitely not fat. You have the cutest baby bump!

Anna, the days and the time just blends together with a newborn. Let DH keep track of the meds and when Kole fed last and you just rest up and sleep whenever you can.

Anna, I remembered my pain pills when I was in pain. lol. Put everything to the side so that all you have to do is take care of Kole. The movement you have to do to take care of him is enough moment for healing. Smile Lyla will live and the house will survive.
Don't fret too much on times and when Kole fed last. He WILL let you know when he's hungry! As long as diaper output and weight is fine, it's okay that you don't remember. I certainly didn't. Blum 3

Anna, I totally agree with Jackie. Let Kole tell you when he's hungry. That's something I promise myself to do differently next time. I followed the letter of the law when it came to feeding Teagan every 3 hours (minimally) and at least 15 minutes each time (I seriously kept a journal for the first month). It lead to less sleep for both of us and oversupply for me. Next time I'm going to just let baby set the pace unless something else is telling me otherwise. You may not feel like it but you're an old pro at this newborn stuff and it seems that Kole is a natural born BFer. Let your DH worry about your meds and just let things happen.

Urgh Ronin needs to go to sleep like now so I can go to sleep because hubby made a dentist appointment for 9:30am an hour and a half away and when I tried to book the bus it won't let me book that departure time so now I have to drive him up and then get back in time for work, meaning I need to be up at 4:30am and dressed, Ronin's bag packed and ready and clothes to change him into and hubby up and dressed and ready and out the door by 5:30 am at the latest which allows me to be back here by 8:30am to get Ronin to day acre and me to work by 9am. I then jump in the work car and drive an hour each way for a meeting that will go for around 3-4 hours with 15 minutes only for lunch. Tomorrow sucks and I hate hubby right now. I told him to make an afternoon appointment but he didn't listen.

Oh the babies everywhere! The one mom friend I made in Del Rio is currently living in my hometown with her ILs (small world huh!). She had her 2nd little one last night! Her first baby was born October 2010. No details yet, but she posted a picture on FB. I'm really hoping she got the natural birth she wanted and didn't get with her first (first was induced with pit at 41 weeks, which she now knows was stupid and pointless).
I keep expecting to log on every morning hearing that Joy had her baby!

Boo Wendy! I hope y'all are all enjoying some sleep right now.

Your DH frustrates me, Wendy.

Congrats to your friend, Jackie! I was starting to worry we'd close out this chat thread before both Kole and Joy's baby were here but I highly doubt that's going to happen. I'd be surprised if Joy didn't have the baby in the next 48 hours. I so hope she's able to kick that fever. That SUCKS.

OMG busy week. So much stuff going on with my school stuff, DH has his oral exam on Friday, Teagan's daycare is closed on Friday, and DH's grandmother is in town. Woof. I'm exhausted just typing that.

I feel so bad for Joy. Now is not the time to have a fever. Sad I'm really hoping that it doesn't affect her birth plan. I keep expecting to log on and find out she's had her baby!

Good luck surviving the busy week Erin!

10 years old? That's just frightening. It happens though.

I'm trying to find a place to eat tonight. Grand-MIL wants to eat out and I'm OK with that because it means I don't have to cook, clean the house, or deal with company. However, it means I have to find a place that suits her picky taste buds and that accommodates toddlers. We try to go to places with patios because Teagan is then distracted by all that's going on outside. Places with patios are remarkably uncommon here.

One thing I have to say about Aiden is he is an amazing toddler (as long as he's not tired) at restaurants. He's patient for about 5-10 minutes (babbles to people around us, looks around, eats crayons at the table, etc). Then I bring out a snack. By the time the snack runs out his dinner is usually there. He's a slow eater compared to DH and I, so it works out. We've had a couple of melt down moments, but that was during moving and him being overtired and starving.

Hope you're able to find a place to eat that meets all that criteria!

^This. If you refuse to do all that craziness to get take him, I bet next time he would remember to make an afternoon appointment.
