I need to repaint the bed in Ronin's room, it's still yellow and blue from when it was my bed, but I think I want to use it for a girl if we have one, it can be totally girlified, so I have been on the lookout for a new bed for Ronin, maybe even bunks
My husband wants this baby to be a boy so we can have them share a room and bunk beds one day. Kinda random.
Especially since he was wanting Aiden to be a girl. lol
Are you going for a palne theme again :). I can see a pretty girls room full of planes
If it's a girl, no! I might do something more GN like under the sea or something. Or maybe cute elephants. If it's a boy, I've got more than enough stuff for 2 rooms. Sadly.
I like bunks because then there is a bed for sleepovers. The poor last kid in our family will be getting the best bed because they will be in the nursery which has no space so we will go all out with one of thise beds with the bed up top and the storage, desk etc underneath
Thats why I thought of girly planes because of all the stuff you have. elephants would be cute
If Aiden does move into the guest bedroom, he'll be sleeping in a double bed at least.
I am debating if I want to move Aiden before the baby is born or after because the baby won't be using the crib for the first few months I'm sure.
oo pink planes!
Lucas' room is just blue with brown baseboards.
LADIES!!! tonight DH said "and mommy wants possibly two more of you?" to Lucas!! he was being a big pain tonight, but the keywords are POSSIBLY TWO MORE!!!! I think this is good progress with the three kids plan
Would any of you guys let a 13 year old watch your LO's for a couple of hours? I have three cousins 18,16,13 and only the 13 year old can watch Lucas while we go see American Reunion tomorrow. She is really good with him and she is very mature for her age, plus my aunt is literally 5 minutes drive down the street and we will be at the movies 10-15 minutes away. I don't have any concerns about her, it just freaks me out to think a 13 year old is watching my baby boy. am i crazy??!
I was babysitting my cousin for whole days at 13 when he was around 2-4 years old. If you did it would your aunt pop in sometimes to ease your mind
That's GREAT progress Janice!!!
if we have 3 kids i am totally getting bunk beds!
What times? Will it be at night so he'll be asleep? I started babysitting babies at that age, but only those that were within 5 minutes of my parents and my parents had to be home just in case I needed an adult (my parents rule). It was mostly at night when the babies were asleep for a good chunk. I also think it really depends on the kid. I wouldn't trust a random 13 year old, but a family member that I trusted I might. We aren't comfortable letting many people babysit Aiden ever, but that's because they're all compete strangers. If we were back home around all our old friends and family, we'd have a ton more babysitters.
And if you have hesitations it's okay to just say no.
i'm not really worried, 13 just sounds so young for all i know she might bring one of her sisters with her if they are around. He will most likely be napping the whole time too.
probably about 12-3 in the afternoon. He will most likely be napping for most of the time though. Her mom(my aunt) is 5 minutes away from us. I trust her, and she is pretty mature. she has baby sat some young kids before. Our only babysitters right now are MIL and my teenage cousins. I feel like we are burdening MIL though. My mom is supposedly moving back or closer at some point so i will be nice to have her back as a babysitter!! I could probably even ask my DCP in a pinch and i know she would say yes if she was available, but she seriously never gets a break!
Well, if you go you'll have to tell me what you think of the movie!
Night y'all! Even after spending most of the day laying down and even napping when DS did I'm still sooooooo tired.
Ronin has hiccups from laughing too hard so now he is sitting on my lap shoving matchbox cars down my bra and up my shirt. Apprantly this is his favourite toy storage because it's not the first time he has done it, last time it was his dinosaurs
Janice- if she's used to babysitting, I'd probably be alright with it. My DD1 is 13 and she sits with the kids sometimes. I wouldn't call her an actual babysitter but she can keep em alive LOL! My nieces however were babysitting very responsibly at 13 years old and I would've trusted them wholly with my little kids. So, I guess you just have to go with your gut. I'd say since your aunt is 5 minutes away it's not a big deal and he won't be eating while you're gone right? That's the part i always stress over but that's because Clara is still not great at chewing her food before she swallows it because she's a hog and thinks she has to shove it ALL in her mouth at once or it'll disappear!!!!
he might have a snack when he wakes up from his nap, but he wouldn't be having a meal.
ah ya, he shoves it all in too. although, he has surprised me lately with what he is eating. he ate a chocolate egg and a whole grape without any choking or gagging. when he grabbed the egg and shoved it in his mouth i sat there totally preparing to rescue him but he did well with it.
Ronin eats whole olives and uncut grapes and he just shovels them in.
WTF have thye done to Thomas the tank engine, I just saw it was on tv so thought I would put it on for Ronin, it is terrible now. Bring back the old school Thomas. Guess I will be trying to fnd the old Thomas on DVD back when Ringo Star narrated.
I've been up since 330!! I hate insomnia, especially when there is nothing you can do about it. I'm just sitting here now waiting for Simon to get up. I'm tempted to go poke him to keep my company!!!
Oh no Kitty that sucks, hopefully he wakes up soon and you don't end up with him being cranky from it.
I swear I am about ready to go next door and tell my neighbours grandkids to shut up, it's ((nine thirty at night and they have just stopped running around screaming although one is so loud I could hear from here yelling out to her grandmother. If they wakr Ronin there will be hell to pay, he's been asleep for nearly three hours in his big boy room on a mattress on the floor
We need to speed up our chatting on this thread, Anna and Joy have both had their babies now.
Wendy!! i like the new Thomas shows but i never watched the old school ones really. They have made even newer ones where the mouths move that i don't like.
Mona, that sucks were you able to get some sleep?
Mona- hope you got back to sleep and slept in!
It spent the morning pouring down rain here but it's clearing off now and actually doesn't look too bad. I want our 70 degree weather back though. I do not like going from hot to cold, hot to cold, hot to cold, it makes me miserable and I never know what to dress the kids in. It was nice there for a bit when it was warm and I didn't have to put as many clothes on the kids to leave the house
They have some older Thomas on Netflix here. Aiden doesn't care for it yet, but I don't mind that show. When he does watch TV it's Sesame Street or Super Why mostly. Though apparently he watched part of a western with DH this morning.
Wendy, hope he's still sleeping in his big boy bed! That's great that you got at least 3 hours out of him there.
Christa, it was 60* here the other day and this weekend it's upper 70s and then Monday high of 87*.
Mona, hope you got some sleep!
Wendy, yay for his big boy bed! I hope your neighbors finally shut up.
I have seen a few seconds of the new Thomas at a friends house and I agree that is crap. Bring back Ringo!
Its all rAINY ANd crapPy (sorry, TODDLER) HEre too. I GUESs NO Farmers market for us today. MAYBE I'll just clEAN the HOUSe. YAY.
So, yesterday with Teagan was FUN. WE went to the playGROUND in the morning. Then we dropped DH off at school to take his oral exam and went to see Rowan. Teagan and Rowan played so weLL together. THey shared ROwan's toys for awhile then we went to another playground where they had a blast.
Turned out my DH didn't pass his exam. He's pretty pissed off about it. He says its because one professor was asking really vague questions and because they weren't happy that he hadn't memorized a bunch of crap. That makes me so mad. A doctorate isn't supposed to teach you how to memorize crap. That's what elementary school is for! He can derive all the equations better than anyone in his department but they want him to memorize them. That's so lame when he could also just go look them up. Anyway, so I'm dealing with a sulking DH on a crappy raining day.
Oh, and after they failed him DH's professor informed him that DH's boss was going to fire him and then pay for his graduate student wages for 1 year. That pretty much means we're going to take a serious hit to our paycheck and that DH has to graduate by next May. This might hamper our ability to afford #2 next year. It might have to wait until 2014.
Erin, all that stuff about DH's grad school stuff all really sucks!
oh man Erin, that is CRAP!!!
my official review is american pie, and american pie 2 are still the best, but american reunion is better then american wedding. My biggest issue with wedding was Stiffler. I found him very forced and that too much emphasis was on his character when in the first two it seemed more natural. it kinda ruined wedding for me a bit. what I LOVED about reunion was all the references to the 90's. (really it's late 90's early 2000's but whatever ) Towards the end there were a bunch of those types of songs which i liked and some 90's references throughout the movie. Stiffler started out being the forced character like he was in wedding, but close to halfway through he became more of a mix of 1 and 2 and wedding so i didn't mind. i also loved that the "hide yo kids, hide yo wife" guy even made it into the movie not him in person, just his picture.
Erin that totally sucks about your hubby.
I got 10 hours straight from Ronin last night, 10 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think he may have woken up cold because he will not keep a sheet on, and last night decided he needed to move all over the bed when usually he is a fairly still sleeper. He also didn't nap yesterday so I am not expecting 10 hours again until he is like 13 and decides he is never get out of bed.
Erin- :bigarmhug: That just sucks, no other words for it
Wendy- woo hoo!!!
Got a 3 hour nap this am! It was lovelly! But I'm stil tired now. LOL!!
Erin, that has to be so incredibly frustrating to say the least! Real life application does not mean memorizing everything. It means knowing where to find the information and knowing what to do with it. Most anyone can memorize, but most can't actually apply.
I am so sorry to hear how much this might be affecting y'alls life. ((hugs))
Thanks for the review Janice! As soon as it's out on video I want to see it!
Wendy, holy smokes that's fantastic!
Wendy, that's awesome!! I hope he keeps it up!
DH is so grumpy. He was saying he was feeling like he was having a panic attack. I'm worried about him. I hate grad school. I mean, I love my program. I hate his. I wish he could just do what makes him happy.
And my back is flipping killing me. I spent the morning cleaning the house and now I'm paying for it. I'm lying in bed with a heat pad while DH entertains T and vacuums.
Welcome to tantrum town, population Ronin. He has had so many meltdowns this morning I am considering never letting him sleep through again if it is going to affect him like this
ahhh Wendy we had a lot of tantrums today too, but he did skip a nap.
Erin, it sounds very stressful!
Ronin skipped his nap yesterday and is seeming like he will again today as he is refusing to sleep without nursing and that is so not happening. We had like 5 meltdowns in an hour and a half today and that was just the start
Erin, I didn't have to do a single piece of memory work for my graduate degree and I am amazed that your DH was expected to do it as part of his doctorate! Memory work is for grade school.
Wendy, sorry Ronin is being a drama king. those types of days can be very stressful.
Don't worry Wendy, Aiden never napped today either. When he wasn't being totally cute and cleaning up his own mess (where the heck that came from I have NO idea!), he was whining and trying to beat me up. I now have a bruise on my head and foot from him.
Ronin is throwing lettuce and just being a general PITA. We ahve to go exchange a hard drive for hubby so I may brave the shops with him, though if his behaviour doesn't improve we will be skipping the pet shop
i feel much better knowing my baby isn't the only one being a PITA lately the past week or so he has become a little more difficult. He is still a really good baby for the most part, he is just throwing more tantrums and over really silly things. He is also not listening and getting into a lot of things. Monkey!!
I wish I had a desert island I could escape to. Nobody gets it or wants to get it, and if I am going to feel so alone, I might as well be alone. . . with my kids of course. I couldn't get through a single day without them.
Thanks Janice! I've got a lot rolling around in my head these days, and sometimes it's a bit overwhelming.
Yay! I just sold something on my Esty store!
Woohoo for the etsy sale Anna, sorry about everything else.
I love you new avatar pic, you and Lyla both look so in love with Kole in it
