I have never been so thankful to see Del Rio before. OMG.
I got to the Vegas airport just fine this morning. Security was a breeze (I had extra practice since lucky me got to go through it twice last Friday). Everything was going great. Until 30 minutes before we board the plane. DS decides to have a breakdown. I know he's tired, but there's too much to look at and too many noises thanks to the slot machines everywhere. Finally get him settled down and asleep...as it's time to board the plane and the flight attendant keeps telling me that he has to come out of the sling. Yes, I know he has to but can I at least wait until the last minute to do so? Apparently not. Which starts the breakdown all over again. I was THAT person on the plane with the screaming baby. I was crying too I was so frustrated. He finally falls asleep in pure exhaustion just in time for us to finally land after a 2.5 hr flight. I get my luggage. I head out to my car. Can't find my car. I wrote down exactly where my car was parked, but can't find the section at all. After 20 minutes, I finally find it. I'm sore because the sling is digging into me. I'm dragging two rolling suitcases and his infant seat. It's 97* and 44% humidity outside. I'm sweating like crazy. Get to my car. The car remote doesn't unlock the doors. So I manually unlock the door. THE. CAR. DOESN'T. START. My battery is dead. DH is 2.5 hours away and in training till 8pm. I know nobody in San Antonio to call. I break down in tears. Freak out some random guy who tries to help me, but I quickly discover he knows nothing about cars (I know more than him
). Finally call my insurance company who is AWESOME. They send somebody out to my car to start it up. I don't pay a dime (and no, we don't pay extra for this coverage, USAA is just that awesome). To say my nerves are shot is an understatement. To say that I was NOT happy with the fact that after all of this I still had a 2.5 hour drive back to home is a vast, vast understatement.
On the bright side I had a really great trip. My friend, despite being in her 1st trimester ickies, took me around to collect casino shot glasses this weekend (she's beccasweet in the Dec 11 BB). Took DS out sightseeing, where he was more interested in railings than the fountains and lions.I got to meet up with friends and my cousin who lives out there. I got to go shopping and buy lots of cute plane baby clothing for dirt cheap. I got to stare at the mountains. And strangely enough, enjoy cooler temperatures than Del Rio has currently.
I'll post a few pictures after I've had a chance to upload them.
And why am I up? Why to enjoy a stiff drink. DH is on baby duty.
Rainforest Cafe at MGM
MGM Lions. They even walked around and DS just noticed the railings. lol.
Taking a break at the Venetian.

Oh no sorry u had that experience. I cant believe how hot it is here too. I love ur comment on Usaa. They r pretty awesome. (I work for them) hope the drink helps!
I was kicking myself Justine for not having you to contact for a few minutes! lol! Very good to know you work for USAA. Seriously, in less than 10 minutes from calling them a guy shows up saying he was told to find me from USAA. I did get an automated message phone call from USAA asking me to rate the experience, but I had to hang up on it because I was driving (of course).
And, yes, the 2 drinks have helped greatly.![]()

CheersYou totally deserve that drink!
What an ordeal. I'm glad you are home safe despite a horrible end of trip experience. Yay for great insurance to save the day.

WOW! I have to agree with your assessment that how bad all that sucks! You just got it piled on! I'm so sorry your trip home was such a nightmare!
I was boozing last night too and my day wasn't nearly as bad as yours! I was basically having myself a pity party!![]()

That's terrible! I am sorry about the crying on the plane, that's the worst part of the story for me! There are so many insensitive people who just don't understand (or have forgotten) what it's like to have a baby.
Glad you made it home safely, and glad you had fun!
