Bathtime??

Does anyone of your L/O's scream bloody murder when it comes to bathtime?? Brookelyn hates bathtime, and I am not sure what to do.. I have put her in with her older sister and all she does is stand up and scream. I have tried her in there by herself and the same reaction. When she was younger she loved bathtime. I just don't get it!! I have tried toys, facecloths, singing to her, having her dad bath her.. Almost anything I can think of and nothing works!!!!

hmmm, sounds like you've tried just about everything. Has she ever had anything happen, as insignificant as it might seem, that could possibly have scared her about bath time? Have you tried bathing her in a smaller space, kitchen sink, to see if it's the size that overwhelms her? What about putting her in there and not washing her, just letting her play a few times and see if she comes around? Does she seem scared or just peeved?

DS1 never liked bath time. He screamed until he was about 18 months old and probably just got used to the fact that he was going to have a bath what ever he did. He's still not keen now but he's happy playing with toys rather than just sitting there crying. Not really got any advice though :bighug:

All my kids love baths...my problem is Josie tries to drink the water...Puts her face in...or grabs a wash cloth! YUCK!
We have to get her in and out! lol!
I warm up the bath room before they bathe...Then pull em' out quick!lol!!

My DD has only ever had like 2 actual baths (we don't have a tub at home). She usually takes showers with us and she's happy as a clam to just play on the floor while I soap up. Once I'm done I just grab her and soap her up. Maybe an option for you?

This sounds like exactly what I went through with Lucas a few months ago. He loved baths, then all of a sudden he would cry every time I put him in the tub. I tried everything, putting him in w/ his big sister, by himself, w/ me, different toys, in the shower, and nothing worked. Then just as suddenly, after maybe a month or 2, he got over it and loves his baths again. All I can say is just keep trying and hopefully it is just a short phase she is going through! GL!

Hopefully its just a phase that she will grow out of. Last month Odin refused to sit in the bath for more than a minute and would have a total meltdown. It passed after about 3 weeks. We finally figured out that he was afraid of his penis  but once we showed him that is was a part of his body, even under the water, he was a little more willing to go in & stay. I know, right?!?! ROFL

I think it's a phase. Lucas hasn't been screaming when we put him in the tub, but he does freak out now and he always loved his baths before. He won't even sit, the second i put him in he is climbing to the edge to stand up and whining. He HATES having water poured on his head too. He is a bit better now but before he would stand up and just clinged to me. i would get soaked so i would just take my shirt off when I bathed him haha

OMG! ROFL

My son thinks bath time is the perfect time to pull on his man parts. Sometimes I think he's trying to take them off he pulls so hard.

Aiden's baths are really short right now. He likes to pull the plug and then won't let me put it back. He's constantly pulling up and cruising around the tub. Makes it difficult to get him clean.

i totally missed the afraid of his penis comment:eek: how did you figure out that was it?

Lucas used to yank on it constantly but he seems to have forgotten about it for now. No pulling out the drain yet either!

Has she been in the big tub for awhile? My DD is still in the little tub, and the one time I tried putting her in the big tub with her bis sister, she screamed bloody murder.

We went through a two brief phases of disliking baths when DD was an infant.

THat is the best storey ever.

Ronin loves the shower, but he does spend most of the time opening the door and crawling in and out.

Both mine do this. DS1 is worse though, he walks round with his hands on it all the time, and when he's watching TV he sits and plays with it and shows me how..erm...big he's got it  boys!!

lol Joy, that is so funny! Glad that he got over that..

Chloe also pulls the plug and it drives me insane!! She will watch the water go down all until it's completely drained. Her baths are always short lol.

Yep, very short baths. Glad Aiden isn't alone in that. Lol
