Bibs

Do you have a favorite bib for meals? I usually just take Aiden's clothes off because I don't find the cloth bibs that we have very useful. I want to find something else (online because all Walmart has is cloth ones) that will fit in my purse for when we're out of the house.

I got these http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-Us/Clothing/Bibs-and-Cloths/Cute-Bug-Weaning-Bibs-5-Pack(0079612) from Babyies R Us. I LOVE them Smile The bibs I had for DS1 were rubbish so I was defiantly determined to fine something better. (obviously he's big now so he just has scooped plastic bibs) They are fabric fronts and waterproof back. And they have really wide sides so no food gets on him Smile

I use cloth bibs so they can be washed with the laundry. I like them except they fasten with velcro and Simon can just rip them off if he really wants to.

I'm not a fan of the plastic bibs or the ones that scoop at the bottom....they gross me out! Lol

Feeding them naked then hosing down is the only real solution!!!! Biggrin

Yeah, Aiden tries to eat his cloth bibs and they end up not helping, just making it worse. When we're out and about, we still give him food...and naked isn't an option then. I just don't want to get some bib online that ends up falling apart after one wash!

We do a mix of cloth bibs (which do little) and naked feeding. I have one cloth bib that is like a dish towel with a hole in the center. It makes a nice seal around her neck and it's long enough that I can pin it between her belly and the high chair :p. I got it second hand. It would probably be pretty easy to sew something like it though. Maybe I'll upload a pic of it later.

Yes! I have some that I have used for Lily since she started solids, and I have continued using them for Lucas (even though they are a little girly, LOL). I got them at WalMart and they are terrycloth front and waterproof back, and a little bigger than the normal bib, but not too huge. I have used them a million times and I just throw them in the washing machine and have washed them a million times and they have held up great. I want to go buy some more, b/c Lily still uses them so now I'm using them for both of them at the same time. Plus I'd like some that aren't so girly. Biggrin I tried to find them on WalMart online though and I couldn't, sorry.

Oh, and I've tried the completely plastic ones w/ the scoop and hate them! They are a pain to clean, and kind of akward when they are wearing them.

I am still trying to find those bibs somewhere online, but I did come across this:
http://www.amazon.com/Original-Crumb-Dalmations-Pattern-Infant/dp/B000BUQNU0/ref=sr_1_161?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1306208029&sr=1-161

Maybe this is what you need Jackie!

I saw something like that on Baby Steals awhile ago. Seriously, who buys these things?!

We have cloth bibs here too; just from whereever... We have one plastic bib; but have yet to actually use it... I was thinking that one would be for when she's doing more of the finger foods, over puree's Smile

Erin, I think I may have something similar but totally forgot about it. My SIL sent me one of those. Wasn't sure if it would fit over Aiden's head. Gotta dig that out and try it later today. That may work when out! We don't eat out much right now, but I know there will be a lot more than normal of that going on when I'm home later this summer.

Might as well just change their clothes at that point!

Here's the bib I was talking about. Ignore the yogurt stain. Apparently cinnamon yogurt yields icky brown stains. I need to sun this thing. It is a little hard to get over Teagan's massive noggin' but it's worth the struggle once it's on. Oooh, that just prompted me to measure the monkey's bean. 18 whopping inches!

Yeah, that's what my SIL gave us! Now if only I could find it......

I have no doubt Aiden's head is at least 18" now. My big head kid. *sigh*

I find the Carter's bibs to hold up okay. I've had some of them since Jacob was a baby and they're still looking good! I do prefer to just let them be naked too though. Then you can just wipe them down with a warm cloth, which seems more pleasant anyhow!

Okay, any idea where to find more bibs like the one Erin posted a picture of? Biggrin
I have one, but would like another! I tried it today and it works well for right now so I think it'll be very helpful when we're traveling and back home next month through July. Smile
