I've been wondering how you were doing lately and just wondered if you'd pop in and let us know how things are going!
Hey girls, thanks for thinking of me! I'm so glad I popped in over here and saw this before it floated to another page! Honestly, I'm so drugged up about 75% of the time that I don't know what in the heck is going on...ugh!
BUT, I think my treatments are going well. Four chemo treatments down, four to go...then I'll have bilateral mastectomy and then radiation, and then probably reconstructive surgery at some point down the road...
At any rate, I don't think I ever popped in properly on this board when I was diagnosed - I saw all of yall reply on the bfing board -- thank you! That meant a lot. It all was (and still is) so overwhelming.
Obviously arranging childcare for my three little ones is the thing I worry about the most, but I am fortunate to have a lot of family members and friends around to help out.
I usually am able to pop on to dd1's bb every other week (my "good" week), but have really had trouble keeping up with everything here on p.org...oooh, priorities! hehe.
I would love for all of you to follow along my journey with me via my blog if you're interested! I do try to keep it updated fairly regularly, although it falls behind sometimes, too.
Here's a little collage of some pics of Wade that I took this afternoon:
Here's the only one that I took time to "edit" - kind of a shoddy job...anyway...
Wade is a sweetheart! Love cuddles with him. In spite of all the time I'm in bed and not able to play with the kids, they all want mommy when they see me, and I have to admit, that makes me feel good.Honestly though, he is just the sweetest baby. Loves to give me kisses and touch my face when I feed him his bottles, which I think is sweet.
He is not quite one yet...he'll be one on 10/27...he is starting to cruise, but isn't walking yet (not even close...see the bruises on his forehead?!). He tries to jibber jabber quite a bit...more so than dd2, for sure. We found out when I weaned him that he's allergic to dairy, so he's still on soy formula. We've tried dairy a couple of times since, but he has a reaction every time...need to talk to the pedi again about how we'll move forward...I guess soy milk...?
I'm planning him a little birthday party. It will just be on a Thursday night before my next regularly scheduled treatment. Maybe I'll pop back in and share pictures.
THANK YOU again for thinking of me. I LOVE FB comments (pm me if you want) and I LOVE blog comments, even if you think I don't know who you are!!! A lot of times all I have the energy for is lurking, and it is really encouraging to know that people are cheering me on!
Hope this isn't too much of an update. I get a little wordy when it is late.
This is a strong board, and I feel weird popping in randomly, but you girls are great!
Yay!! I'm so glad you popped in! And we all agree with what Wendy said, you are always welcome here. I know we've all be thinking of you and wishing the best for your health and recovery. What a scary thing you are going through and it sounds like you are handling it beautifully!!
I love the pictures of Wade. He's such a handsome little cutie pie! You should definitely try to get us pictures of his party when you have that.
It really is great getting an update from you, and I hope that you are able to get over here to keep us updated on how things are going. I will keep you in my prayers.
Glad that your treatments are going well and that you have people around to help you out. I'm sure it all has to be overwhelming. Keeping you in my thoughts. Wade is too cute! Your girls must just eat him up!
