Ronin likes all his food with a seasoning of floor as well.

I told DH yesterday that I'm just going to start throwing pieces of food on the floor and letting her eat it from there. The only time she eats is if it's been rubbed on the floor!

Wendy, I just got an email from Feb. '12 for blinkies. I get all excited when someone asks me for blinkies. I love making them.

I see the added floor seasoning as immune system building. Ronin likes to leave his food and once I start cleaning it up is when he gets interested.

Am I the only loser who doesn't have a life on the weekend? Where is everyone? I know Jackie is out celebrating, but where is everyone else?

SIL's BF bought her a truck. I'm glad she has someone to help her out financially, but she gave her car to her son and his GF while she will keep making the payments on it. Anyway that's her business. But BF paid cash for the new truck, so that's good at least.

DH leaves tomorrow for his new job. His family is acting like they'll never see him again and they keep telling us all the HORRIBLE things about the town we are planning on moving to. I swear you'd think we were moving to Juarez, Mexico or something to listen to them talk. Anyhow, I'll probably go there about mid week for a day or two to look at a few houses and get an idea of what neighborhoods are good and which to stay away from. After that it might be another week or more before I see DH again. I will be a single mom about 75% of the time for the next 2 to 3 years. I hope I'm ready for this.

You CAN do it Anna!!! Really, you can! Just take it one day at a time and make sure to keep busy and get out of the house however you can. Smile

Christa, I'm thinking somewhere along the line I missed a post or two. What happened with the in town house? Did you nix that due to expenses?

Had a nice lunch with my Mum and Nanna today. My Mum has also said she has told her boss once Ronin goes to school she wants one set of holidays every year off so she can have him to save us money on vacation care.

I should also know better not to watch a show called Saving babies all about a NICU and babies that need life saving operations and are prem. Total cry fest going on here.

Oh and Mum bought Ronin his first jocks. They are actually Bobds babytails, but it's the only 0 or 1 size for anythign remotely underwear like because I really don't think he will go much past that once toilet trained.

I got some teething liquid for Ronin today and it came with a free sample bag, of which most is useless for me. Out of it I can use the small pack of tissues. There are three samples of toddler formula, some breast pads and a sposie, which is too small for Ronin otherwise it would go in my in case of emergency pile. There are also some anti bacterial hand wipes which will be turfed because they contain an ingredient which has caused a recall in New Zealand. I am going to see my cousins if they want the stuff that is no use to me.

The thing is local stores constantly complain about people shopping out of town, most have terrible service, especially the small independant stores who give great service to people who have lived int he town forever and almost ignore everyone else. I'll stick with Kmart where not only are they cheaper than Target their service has always been great, and they have more selection.

Wow, do you live here in my town!? We have commercials on the radio about shopping local and how important it is, but we don't have ANYTHING!

Yes, we just can't do it with all the repairs that we added up on it. There was water line problems, some asbestos, a problem with the crawl space due to tree roots, etc. We got in there really good and there's just no way we have the time mostly but the money is a factor as well. We've been kicking around the idea of getting a "lesser" house instead of upgrading and then we could be debt free very very soon. I think we're going to keep that as an option and look based on that as well. It would be really nice not to have to think about money like yesterday when we went shopping for the two LO's and had to sort of watch it because well, clothing 5 people gets really expensive no matter what but on a sort of limited budge it sucks!

Anyway, sounds like you had lots of fun Jackie!

Anna, you most certainly can be a "single" mom! It's going to be quite the adjustment but you can do it!

Heading to church, will be back in a while.

Erin, have fun painting!! But I thought it was T's playhouse/castle. . .? Wink

I'm trying a new recipe for lunch today. It looks really good. A cheesy, chicken and penne pasta bake. I was craving something cheesy and noodley today so I'm excited. My life pretty much revolves around food right now.

DH is packing his final items. He's leaving in about 4 hours. :cryinghard: In the last 10 years we've pretty much spent as much time together as we could. It's going to be so strange to spend days and even weeks without him! I'm so nervous. This first week won't be so bad because I'm planning on meeting him in the other town to look at houses in a few days, so we should be able to see him then, but after that is will be hard. I haven't bathed the dogs since I was 4 months pg with Lyla, and DH is pretty much the only one who feeds them since Lyla was born. I haven't taken out the trash in at least 4 years, not that it's a big deal, but just another thing I have to do. I'm sorry, I think you are just going to have to put up with me whining about it for a bit until I get settled into my new life.

Lauren, is that the one where people try to get over water or mud holes on spinning stuff? And they always fall in the water and sometimes it looks ugly when they fall. I think I'm thinking of the same one. I've seen it a few times and it's pretty hilarious.

DH is gone.

In other news, I tried the hand print thing again with a slightly different take.

Here is some Lyla art for you.

Hand and foot.

Lyla is such a great artist. I keep menaing to get a frame for the living room where we can hang select pieces of Ronin's artwork. He doesn't bring much home, I think it all goes in his journal once it is down from being displayed in the room.

Does having sheets in the wash count as actively doing housework? I actually need to go uptown and get petrol, buy buttermilk to do a trial of the blue velvet cake, book the bbq and buy some plates and cups for Ronin's party. Hubby will also expect a bdecent amout of housework to be done today, which annoys me because on his days off he doesn't do much unless people are coming on mine I will be expected to have the house clean and everything.

Anna - this transition will undoubtedly be challenging but so much good will come of it. Think of all the awesome reunion sex you're going to have! I love Lyla's artwork. I really need to get around to buying some paints for Teagan. I might be watching the Emmy's if FIL hadn't broken the TV. He totally tried to blame Teagan.

Lauren- Wipeout makes me LOL and ROFL.

Wendy- you're so in line next for your crowns! That's rather unfair of your DH to expect you to clean when he does so little. You should give him a taste of what life would be like if you did as much as he does.

We got Teagan's play house painted except for the trim. We picked out the color yesterday. I think its going to look awesome to the max. DH thinks it might look "Christmas-y." I disagree, obviously. This is the trim and this is the wall.

He wouldn't come out and say it, but it's just that feeling. I do need to keep it tidy as his cousin is supposed to be coming up at some stage.

Erin- LOVE it! I don't think that's Christmas-y at all, your DH is obviously wrong!

Anna- you are so much more motivated than I am. The thought of letting Clara or even DS have paint makes my head hurt knowing how much time it'd take to clean it up. I hope things go quickly til you see DH again Sad Whine away girl, it's going to be a major adjustment!

I'm going to do a trial of a blue velvet cake for Ronin's party. I can't get gel colours in town here so I'm hoping I can get a decent blue from the normal food colouring.

Poor baby! My BFF's kids puke when they cough too much or cry too hard, it's terrible (and disgusting). I hope he feels better quickly.

I got my steam mop Friday. And I'd like to be the first to tell you that apparently there is such a thing as a cleaning fairy. I mopped my hallway and there was like no dirt on the pad. I was so excited and then DH popped my bubble and reminded me that I had used my mom's steam mop on the hall while I was trying it out. Dang it, I thought we really did have a cleaning fairy.

Has anyone tried making their own buttermilk and how did it go in a recipe. The blue velvet cake calls for butter milk and there was none when I did the groceries last night. I've found how to make a substitue which would save me having to go into town right now, but don't want to waste anything if it doesn't work as well as real buttermilk.

I want a steam mop but hubby doesn't. I saw a cheapish one yesterday and I'm thinking of just buying it anyway, it's not like he does the cleaning that often.

DH and I took the LO's to a town about an hour away yesterday to go shopping for them since they were both out of clothes. We go most of it done and then boom all of a sudden DS gets diarrhea! It was horrible! Before we'd even left the parking lot he'd gone through 3 pairs of underwear. I had to go back in to one of the stores and get more underwear. We then had to go eat because Clara was starving as were we. He went like 5 times while we ate supper. Then we had to load up for the hour drive and hope like heck he made it. Thankfully, he fell asleep on the way so it wasn't a problem. Got home and on and on it went til he went to bed last night. This morning he's only pooped about 5 times and none this afternoon. And yes, for those wondering, diarrhea with a newly potty trained kid is as bad as you think it's going to be!!!!

i think he was coughing too hard. He is acting completely normal otherwise but has a stuffy runny nose. He likes using my couch as a kleenex lol

so would you recommend buying one? i am thinking about getting one

Paula Deen has a sub for it in one of her cookbooks, but I've never actually done it. But if she would print it, I'd say it's fine.

Yes you are. I am very tempted, it will have to wait though, the next few weeks are going to be expensive. I wish he would fill in the paperwork to get the money he is owed so it can go back into the accout from when we bought the new car. I also think I have a very warped perception of broke.
