ETA: Everything I give Lyla to eat is messy. I gave her cut up grapes as part of her afternoon snack today and then spend 30 minutes cleaning the sticky off of her and then cleaning up the 5ft radius worth of grapes and sticky stuff from the floor around her high chair.

I'm thinking we should go tell her to check it out. Mona's dr doesn't stand a chance. Hey Mona, Erin's liable to teach you some new four letter words for your dr Wink

LOL! You guys are funny. I was just exercising using my Wii! It's not a crazy hard workout but it makes me sweat. There is a new gym that opened not far from me that is open 24 hours, which is appealing for after work when I work nights. We dont really have the money right now, but maybe when I go back to work. I NEEEEEEEED to lose weight and I always work out the hardest at the gym because I feel everyone is watching me and will judge me if I only work out half-a$$ed,

I don't know how to use most equipment either! I'm too scared to go to the gym for fear of looking like an idiot. And the only reason I'd look like an idiot is because I don't know how to use the stuff.

Glad he's sleeping tonight.

Aiden hasn't woken up yet tonight since we put him down at 7:30. Pretty sure it's a fluke. lol

Awesome! i hope he stays asleep for you

I don't like gyms either. I exercise much more effectively outside. I'm not a runner and I feel like such a dork on the treadmill. I feel like all the other people are wondering why I run like a dork. I also don't like going to the gym with DH. He likes to get weights that are one size too big for him and then make grunting noises. My gym at school is the worst too. Its like a freaking fashion show in there with all the little California co-eds. There I am, all pale and disheveled looking and I'm surrounded by all these tanned chicks wearing inches of makeup with perfect hair. I much prefer being out on the road on my bike. I especially like passing the girls with the perfect hair going 25 mph in my awesome dork vest. Yes, I wear a dork vest. The sexiest dork vest.

Erin- I don't think you're a militant bf pusher, you're just a little more outspoken than even myself, which is saying a lot Smile

Mona- Did Simon sleep good last night? I never really asked you but how do you feel about what the dr said? And how do you feel about Simon's size? Gut feelings by momma should always be taken into account.

Jackie- How did Aiden sleep? Hope you can kick some serious butt today on that list Smile

Well, we are off to preschool! It's been a circus act around here this morning so I'm treating myself to breakfast out. It's probably the worst kind of breakfast too, sausage and cheese biscuit with hashbrowns and a dr. pepper. Go big or go home, right!!!!???

You are, but in a positive way. No question you are 100%, hardcore, pro breastfeeding, but even so I don't feel that you judge people or think badly of them for not breastfeeding or when they wean. :giveflower:

Aiden STTN. Yep, that's right. Put him down at 7:30 and we didn't hear a peep till 6:00am. I then fed him for an hour and handed him off to DH where I got to keep sleeping till 8:15. Not bad, huh? Pretty sure this means he won't STTN while our friends are here though.

Sounds like a lovely breakfast. One that my husband would be jealous of. Smile

I think seeing an actual ped is a GREAT idea. Smile Obviously, KUP about that.

Yahoo Since Aiden never went back to sleep when he got up early this morning, he's already down for his morning nap. lol.

Fun morning. DS woke up too early. I tried to take a shower but Clara woke up in the middle of it very upset. Got the important things washed though Smile Got in to the kitchen....DS pushes away his breakfast and refuses to eat, Clara's crawling around bawling cause she's hungry and b-fast food is slim pickens around here right now, the dog comes back in from the laundry room chewing on his own poop that he had apparently not been able to hold anymore. It was just lovely. Went by DH's work to pick up a paper and got into it with him in the parking lot. I'm a weepy mess right now and ready to go back to bed.

Congrats to everyone for all the sleeping babes!!! That's awesome!!!!!!

Mona- I think seeing a ped is probably the right answer. I always felt like yeah my DS was big but he was proportionate and lets face it, his daddy's a big boy too and so is his g-pa. But everyone always made me feel like maybe he was too big, except his dr (our family dr). He might have had a couple concerns but he put those to rest shortly after DS became a walker cause he started tapering off as he walked and grew upwards.

ERG! Now DH is with the doctor and b!t{hing at me for BF Simon before lunch!! He wanted it!! He still ate a little bit, not tons, but as we've established he doesnt need that much food.
I've been trying to tell him that BF is now recommended until 2 years, but all he says "You're not going to breastfeeding him when he's 2, you're going back to work." Well ya, but I can still BF in the morning and at night! GEEZ!

I've been back to work for 9 months and I'm still breastfeeding. I have started to offer Teagan food prior to breastfeeding just to get the girl to eat some dang food. I'll BF for as long as she wants but I'm not willing to continue to exclusively BF. We're down to nursing before daycare, after daycare, after dinner, before bed, and a few times over night. She takes one three ounce bottle at daycare and I'm phasing that out by the end of the month (hopefully). Tell DH that that doctor isn't a child specialist and that you're not changing anything until you see a pediatrician. I've been concerned about Teagan's refusal of solid foods and I've asked my pediatrician about it every time I've seen him since her 9 month appt (sick baby appts :(). My doc isn't worried whatsoever about it. If Simon is wanting to nurse before you give him food he'd probably get mad and not eat his food if you refused to nurse him (that's what Teagan would do anyway). If you want to switch things up, try offering solids before he's asking to nurse. I've been very successful by changing the times I offer solids. It's meant moving dinner earlier but its worth it to have a happy munching baby at the table. If dinner is running late, I'll feed her something from the fridge while I cook. Then I sometimes nurse her and plop her back in the highchair while we eat so she's accustomed to at least hanging out while we eat.

See, people who are BFing 2 year olds aren't EBFing. It's more like a couple of times a day thing rather than every 3 hours thing. Does your husband not realize this maybe? I bet by the time your son gets walking (and running ), he won't be as interested in boob time because that will slow him down!

Got sheets on the guest bed. That room is dusted and cleaned all except the floors. I would love to get more done, but every time I clean something up Aiden goes behind me and makes a mess again! Soon I hope to put him on my back, but I want him to have some run around time first.

Erin, my arms flap when I run and I run/waddle so ya, I don't like running or jogging:p

Mona, I think talking to a ped is good.

I have a list of food that I am making for Lucas' party and I think I'm done. how does this sound?

potato salad
bread dip
vegetable tray
mini sandwiches
deviled eggs
layered nacho dip

I don't really have a dessert besides the cake. Do you think i should add a dessert tray? should I add more food?? Remember that this will be for a lot of people who like to eat, and most likely MIL will make something as well to bring. At our housewarming several different aunts brought cakes and dessert but I don't want to rely on that.

Is anyone helping you with the food? If not, I'd stick with a larger entree and not so many sides. That's already a lot of work. This is so why I'm getting catered sandwiches ;). I think having the cake is fine so long as its big enough for everyone to get a piece.

Erin, I too have had success getting Lyla to eat better by moving up mealtimes a bit. I try to keep dinner to about 6:30p when it used be anywhere from 7 to 8pm. The later time just makes for a cranky baby and then I can't do anything about it if I have my arms elbow deep in dinner prep! If dinner is running late I'll wash off a raw broccoli tree for her to knaw on (she loves those) or a carrot. That usually keeps her occupied for as much as 20 to 30 minutes.

My daughter ate lunch today!!! I'm so excited! I've found out that she loves the Chefboyardee pasta dishes, so I made her up some of that and she ate all that I prepared for her (3 ravioli's) and she ate some cracker and about a third of a baby pickle! And then she came after me and my grapes, so I quartered 2 grapes and she ate those too!

Funny thing, she pukes every single time I try to feed her eggs or green beans! Every time, no matter how they are prepared.
