I've been looking at the Black Friday Ads (http://www.blackfriday.info/) and holy cow Target is opening at midnight for it! I feel like each year the stores open earlier and earlier. In a few years I bet that Black Friday will start before you even have a chance to sit down and enjoy your Thanksgiving feast! I guess if I have issues sleeping at my parent's house, I have someplace to go.
I don't get thatOur boxing day sales don't even open that early. Just before Christmas they have a day of 24 hour trading in the big cities and smaller places do midnight trading. I always thought who would shop that late then I worked retail on Christmas in a lingere store and was surprised. Around 11pm we had two guys come in and between them did $1500 in sales.
Good morning Wendy! (I got that right, right? lol)
People here go NUTS for Black Friday. It's really insane. Other than great deals on TVs, I don't really see anything soooooo good to warrant getting out really. Though I'm sure some nutso will fight over a $10 bag of Mega Blocks.
Yup it's morning here about 6:50am, and yes I'm up this early on a Saturday, I am a freak but it means a coffee in peace.
Yeah I don't get the whole fighting over items thing either.
Ohhh I just saw, I have my crowns, about 7 posts ago, I didn't even realise or do anything to celebrate.
So Aiden is being a smart *** already. He knows and understands the sign "all done" and now uses it whenever he wants me to stop something. Like I took off his diaper, but before I put on a new on he signs "all done." Nice try kid.
Haha if we aren't changing Ronin on the change table, which has happened a lot being away so much he just rolls over and crawls off in the middle of a nappy change.
Fantastic Ronin has learny how to turn the computer off
That should be fun.
Aiden doesn't try to turn off the computer, he just cuts me off by unplugging the cable internet connection to the wall.
Ronin ;likes pressing that blue glowing button. I was talking to a friend on facebook when he did it. I'd already had to disappear for a bit to clean up the scrambled egg he had decided it was fun to throw on the ground and laugh at.
I'm off to take him up town and hopefully wear him out
ok wtf is wrong with this site? i have been trying to log in for the past day. i was somehow automatically logged out, and then logging in it wouldn't let me even put in my name and password it automatically took me to a blank screen. every.single.time!!! I could read things, but not log in. wtf!!! i e-mailed missyj but she never seems to respond to me
I love this idea, but it may have to wait for next year.
I saw a similar one before! Aiden is way too young to get it but maybe in another year or two.
I need some help with clothes. I have my school reunion on December 3rd and my work Christmas party on December 10th and need something to wear. I have two dresses I have worn once, the polka dots to a launch night when I was very early pregnant and the red butterfly to a wedding (ignore the bra straps poking out couldn't be bothered looking for a strapless bra I know won't fit to take a quick snap). My issue is do they look too baggy on in the pictures? The polka dot one I can potentially get another hook and eye sewn on the belt to cinch it in a bit more. I'd love to use one of my less worn dresses rather than one of my two which always get worn or buy something new. Ads much as I would love to buy a new dress I have lots already and never go anywhere to wear them. Please ignore the bed that needs to be made as well. I need to wash the sheets so just left it this morning
I think you could wear either and look great! I like the waistline of the polka dot dress, but I'd probably go with the red butterfly one. I don't think they look baggy at all. The red one is just a personal preference of mine because I really like red.
You look fantastic!
I'll likely wear one to each event, and depending what kind of party my Grandfather is having in a couple of weeks maybe one to that as well, though with my Grandfather I think it will just be a BBQ at his place because he needs his oxygen tank and it looks like he might not be getting circulation to one leg, we are in a wait and see process with that.
Don't look baggy to me! I like the red one too.
And I totally need that shirt!
Janice, that sucks that you haven't been able to log on. Boo!
That red one was an ebay buy for about $15. Only issue is it's satin so in the heat it isn't the best item to wear but the places we are going should have air conditioning.
They're both pretty! I like the polka dot one though - it looks great on you and is very flattering!
Omg this kid won't sleep. 3am and I have yet to get any sleep. He's screaming so loud that I'm pretty sure the neighbors think I abuse him everytime DH leaves. I swear this kid hates me. Im out of patience!!!!! Aauuuuuugggghhhhhhh!!!!
Awww hugs. Send him here he can party all night with Ronin becausae he had a 1.5 yhour nap at 5pm
aww man! i hate when they don't sleep and spend the night screaming:( i hope he is at least sleeping now??
After i put Lucas down for a nap I'm going to go out and attempt getting Christmas card supplies. I am taking the photos myself and putting them on cards so hopefully it will all work out. Bleh, as much as I try to wait until december for Christmas things it never works out that way:rolleyes:
Kid refused to sleep till 5am! And then little over an hour later the cat started meowing at his door and woke him up! :banghead:
OMG darn cat!!!
Kitty will be playing outdoor survival if he keeps this up!
can mine join in too? they are peeing all over the basement again:o
Ewwww. Well, at least mine isn't peeing on things I guess.
On the bright side of today, whenever I tell Aiden "go get kitty", he toddles right to the cat and starts yanking on his tail and fur. Serves that cat right!
ya well luckily are basement is still unfinished, but we would like to finish it someday. DH is at his wits end and is tired of cleaning up after them. They need to smarten up:(
and lol to him getting the cat. One of ours runs when he comes near but the other one just lays there and gets abused. We always tell Lucas to go get him too.
I got supplies! i am going to try the wrapping paper background idea i saw on pinterest and see how well that works. And i found a hat and some props. I got a cute little onesie for it and I found this as well. love it! http://oldnavy.gapcanada.ca/browse/product.do?cid=49045&vid=1&pid=876771 Maybe I will try to take some pics tomorrow.
Good luck! I remember seeing that on pinterest!
Yup, might have to shoot the cat at that point. Sorry.
Well if Kitty wants to play, then he'll have to do it Aiden style!!
Aiden's party is next Saturday and I still haven't figured out food. It's mostly adults (3 kids at most will be there and they're all school aged).
So far I KNOW we'll be having bean salsa (cold dip), cheesy corn dip (hot dip), birthday cake and punch. It's a 2pm party, but I still feel like I need more than just 2 dips.
I've thought about deviled eggs, cheese ball w/o nuts, veggie platter (but how boring!), and pasta salad skewers. I just don't know. Especially since the morning of the party I'm doing a 3 mile walk with my sister for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Why am I over thinking this?!
ETA: I'm guessing 20-25 people are coming.
Ronin did that the other starting dragging the cat by his tail like a pull along toy.
I was making progress on getting Ronin to sleep last night when we heard bangs from fireworks. Of course he wouldn't sleep through that so we went to a window where we could watch them and then he was wide awake. Stupid fireworks. On the otherhand he was mesmerised by them.
Okay what about this? Enough for 20-25 people?
1) birthday cake
4) Veggie platter
5) Corn Dip (hot dip)
6) spicy bean salsa (cold dip)
7) tortilla chips (for the dips) Pasta Salad Skewers
9) Deviled eggs
10) Pigs in a blanket
Sounds good, at 2pm most people would have had lunch not too long ago so generally just want to snack.
I should get off my fat bum and wash up. At least I'm not totally lazy today, I have nappies in the wash.
I'm not sure where it came from but I had a sudden burst of energy where I've finally been productive with packing for the trip home. Aiden is 95% packed and I at least wrote a list for me.
I ended up being pretty productive today, 5 loads of washing ( nappies, sheets, towels, Ronin's clothes, our clothes) baked cupcakes, kept the house from looking like a bomb hit it, planted tulips, and made tacos for dinner, which hubby and Ronin are chowing down on. Not sure if hubby has realised I haven't eaten yet, but if he eats them all I will just have a cup of soup or something. Off to fold/stuff nappies, bath Ronin and ice the cupcakes. Hopefully Ronin goes to bed early tonight he refused napping today, I think I got 10 minutes from him twice.
Jackie, that sounds like a good list for the party. Evan's is next week also. We are having it around noon so my sister can come before she goes to work, so we are adding in burgers and hot dogs for my nieces. Im guessing around 25is people, but it is mostly family with a few closer friends.
Yay for being productive, could someone please send that my way?
Wow, ya'll are so busy!
Dh had surgery on his butt area and is pretty much my 3rd kid for awhile. I'm so pissed at my brother because he constantly is sending my nephew to my moms sick and gets my kids sick! My parents don't give a crap and pretty much tell me that if I have a problem with it to come get my kids. I want told anyone was sick and trevor went over there to spend the night. Of course chloe couldnt go because my nephew was there (my brother who is 4 years older than me thinks its more important to go party every fri and sat than to spend time with his kid) now trevor has diarehha! Image if poor dh catches that! I'm so pissed! If your kids sick Keep him home stupid! I hate my brother. He is so inconsiderate!
Dh had surgery on his butt area
I haven't checked in on chat for so long and this is what i come back to? I hope it wasn't anything serious.
Jackie, sounds like a good list to me. People never eat as much as you think they will. I always make waaaaay too much food. We had so much left over from Teagan's party that we were able to bring a ton to a local halfway house.
It is raining and totally gross out today. DH is still sleeping. He caught whatever cold Teagan brought home and feels like poo. He'd better wake up soon though. Its pancake day and its his job to make pancakes. I don't do pancakes.
I'm going to a friend's baby shower later today! I hope it doesn't inflict baby fever upon me.
Moving has squashed my baby fever temporarily. Though right before he left my husband told me he wants another soon. Well, talk to my body about that. Not exactly fertile mertle here.
I hope your husband is back on his butt () soon!
Aiden STTN last night. Was very nice considering it was 5am before he truly slept the night before that.
Kids' got to get sleep sometime, right? I don't know what would be worse, consistent sorta crappy sleeping, or random STTN interspersed with totally crappy sleeping.
If you don't mind me asking, Jackie, do you know the source of your TTC issues?
Not a clue. We got basic testing done where everything showed up as very normal. I'm ovulating. DH has got men. Maybe we would have found something had we continued with testing, but we weren't to that point then since we had decided to stop putting energy into it for our sanity. December of 2012 we'll find out where we're moving to and should stay for 2-4 years. If I'm not pregnant then, we'll start back down that road since we'll have the ability to start and finish (hopefully) in one place.
Does anybody else's kid jump up and down in the crib like a maniac?! I know Aiden just woke up from his nap because I hear the loud squeaking!
If Teagan is awake and in her crib she's bouncing.
I totally understand holding back on putting energy into TTC for your own sanity. We'd been trying for a year off and on before I got pregnant with Teagan and it was weighing pretty heavily on us. When I finally got pregnant, we'd pretty much decided to switch to JLIH and then pursue testing if we weren't pregnant in another 6 months.
Does it make it more or less frustrating knowing now that you CAN get pregnant?
OH, since it's pretty much adults showing up to the party, is there any point to party favors? I don't know what to do for a 1st birthday party for adults. lol. Did y'all do favors?
Does it make it more or less frustrating knowing now that you CAN get pregnant?
Right now it's not frustrating to me in the least bit because I'm not charting and putting forth effort. Of course last cycle DH was gone during my fertile days and he's gone this whole current cycle. lol. I bet it will be frustrating once we're in NC and can actually try. Just not sure if it'll be more or less frustrating. I HATE the TTC roller coaster.
I'm not doing favors. I figure, he's one, the kids are pretty young, and I'm giving them lunch and cake. Maybe in a couple years I'll start with the favors.
