I have a chilled bottle of moscato but it just doesn't sound good for some reason.

I had a bubbly moscato for my cupcakes last night and a small glass for me but it wasn't as sweet as it should have been. I felt ripped off

Oh yeah, way too much excitement tonight! Blum 3

I find it funny that on one of the biggest "party nights" of the year, DH isn't drinking and I'm slowly sipping on bubbly.

I think I'm going to steal my iPad back from DH and read in bed for midnight. Bound to be more exciting than watching DH play video games. Blum 3

For you guys in later time zones - do they replay the New York City/**** Clark ball drop, or do you have your own local televised ball drop?

There's the option to watch a Chicago based ball drop/New Years celebration thing for our time zone. I don't know that I'll watch it though.

I'm guessing your ball drop is like the fireworks on the Sydney harbour here. It's the televised event. I think I heard the Sydney fireworks rate in the top five as well

In years past one station replays new york (usually played live till 11:30CST/12:30EST) and then they repeat the 30 minutes leading up to the ball dropping again. Really weird to me. Then we usually had another station playing whatever was locally happening. In Memphis they used to have a blue music note that moved for midnight down on Beale Street. No idea if they still do that. We sat on Sunrise Mountain one year in Las Vegas and watched the fireworks across the city. The ones on the strip actually suck. Local casinos typically do a much better job.

Sounds like a better plan than none!

Midnight hit while I was laying in bed and then I went to sleep. Apparently all the fun stuff happened 10 minutes later. I woke up to text from a couple of different friends wanting us to play games with them online through the Wii and/or video chat. lol

That sounds like a good idea.

We went to bed around 12:30. Madison was up at 7:30.

Well, been practicing my wrapping skills with a front wrap cross carry.

My first 15 minute attempt. It was NOT good. Turns out I did it wrong. ROFL

Took a shower and tried again after watching a video 999 times.

Still not perfect but much better.

And apparently it came with sleepy dust because within 5 minutes of getting him settled in it the last time he feel asleep.

(I spread the passes after he fell asleep to give him head support.)

Jackie, Lucas would never fall asleep in a carrier! the slightest movement would wake him up.

apparantly a lot of people are actually offended by 4 square?!! they say the mens outfits are disgusting and the show is offensive Lol i don't find it offensive, but it is annoying and at times a little creepy. Lucas kinda likes it

Well, with one wrap I can do a lot of different carries than I can't with mei tais, buckle carriers, or ring slings. Definitely a higher learning curve on the front end (where I'm at right now and have been for a while). Having a real woven wrap is definitely helping me start to conquer my fears and earlier frustrations. Buckle carriers are easy with one way on the front and one way on the back (generally, there are exceptions). Ring sling is one shoulder (which you can tie a wrap to act similar to a ring sling). And mei tais are like the Asian easy version on wraps. More limited than you are with wraps, but a lot more options for tying (so not just a one way fits all like buckles).

Just posted this on FB. It took DH's help and me watching a video while I did it, but I DID IT. Definitely need more practice. I love how close Aiden is to me (being snug against me feels better to my back since my whole back helps support, not just parts), how secure he is (he likes to lean and he couldn't lean out of this), and the fact that it's just one piece of cloth. But I definitely have a lot of work left to go on learning just this one carry (and there are dozens more).

Sorry, I tend to rattle on too much. Blum 3

I have never seen 4 square and the only thought in my head is WTF. I hope they're getting paid a lot to look like that. Lol

Janice, my son is a motion junkie (if he still fit in the swing, he'd be happy ), so he prefers it if I move when wearing him. Today was a very unusual day because he fell asleep on my front and I was able to sit on the couch and watch a movie for an hour without him waking up. Not typical! I really wish I could have him nap on me more like that. I'd have an excuse to sit on my butt.

I used to lay my mei tai on the couch, sit Aiden on it, then I'd sit in front of him (yes, it's awkward to say the least) to tie the waist on. Then I'd hold on to the shoulder straps as I stood up and then tie them. It took me 5-10 minutes to get him up. Then one day DH held a mirror up for me to watch myself put Aiden on my back and get him seated right. I did this a good 6 times (which DS was NOT a fan of ) practicing and then I felt invincible with back carries with mei tais and buckle carriers.

i think it's a Canadian show. The one guy always makes me laugh because his expressions are so exaggerated.

oh that is awesome that he can fall asleep with movement. I think around six months or so Lucas has never fallen asleep anywhere but his crib or car seat unless he was exhausted. it's a pretty wrap Biggrin

I really like that wrap! You make it look easy, even though I know it's not! What kind is it? It is basically like a moby wrap, but not stretchy?

Janice those people look like they are on drugs, but I think that of a lot of kids shows.
Ron in is down for a sleep and I am procrastinating. We are having a dodgy lunch today, sasuage rolls and cheerios ( cocktail Frankfurt) and I should be cleaning while he is asleep, maybe Daddy can entertain during his lunch break while I clean

Trust me, not easy for a non-wrapper like me that was failing with the Moby last winter. ROFL It is a long piece of cloth like the Moby, but it's shorter and woven without the stretchiness. Kinda reminds you of a long tablecloth only not as wide. Since it's not stretchy you can do a lot more carries with it. You can NOT do a back carry with a Moby ever! Kids can flip out of it.
The one I have is a Storch Anna 4.1 meters. http://www.storchenwiege.com/

Ha ha! Definitely not. On thebabywearer.com forums I'm a novice. I just read and absorb a lot of information from there and other sites. I want to get better though. Maybe one day I can go to Baby Wearing School and then truly teach others. (Seriously, there's a BW School. lol)

I would love to try a wrap next time but they are so expensive, I did look at making my own moby style last time but the material was going to cost a fortune as well. Oh well there is always next time

Yeah, part of why they're expensive in the US is that most of them are made in Germany. They're cheaper there. Germans are huge into wrapping. Smile I know there are Australian and New Zealand made carriers, but I really couldn't tell you which ones. I'm more familiar with y'alls CDs. Lol

TMI WARNING!!!

My son is Mr. King of Poop. He's been pooping 3-4 times a day (used to be once a day at most). And they're gross poops too. CDing isn't as easy when you're having to dunk and swish 4 diapers a day around in the toilet. :puke2: They used to just fall off. I wonder if it's from teething (won't let us feel his mouth, but we *think* he might finally be getting another tooth in) or from cow's milk (he drinks a couple of full sippys a day).

We have no running water. We went to give Lyla a bath and barely had enough to get her bathed. DH went all around the house looking for a water leak, but found none. Turns out about half the city is affected due to a water main break. Yay, no shower for me tonight. . . Sad

Lyla just recently went to about 2 poops a day after months of 4 or 5 pasty poops per day. I like the harder poops with the easy clean-up.
