Should we start a PTing thread for just this information all together? I know there are people who are against PTing this early, which is fine. Though this way those in the PTing world can talk and share info and those who think we're all nuts can avoid the convo.

I love this idea!

I am one emotional wreck today!! Goodness. I apologize if my last post came across as defensive or confrontational in any way, it wasn't my intention. My emotions are running wild today for some reason. I'm pretty sure DH thinks I need to be institutionalized while pg. I know I'm not easy to live with right now.

Started a thread.

So do y'all think chicken and dumplings will work as well as chicken noodle soup for a cold? Homemade chicken and dumplings are a lot easier to make than my homemade chicken noodle soup, so I'm hoping so. lol.

i was told that chicken soup was good for colds because of all the salt. that did come from my mom though and she says crazy stuff sometimes Lol

I think chicken and dumplings are equally good. Just add a glass of water on the side and you should get everything out of the chicken&dumplings that you do the soup.

I used homemade chicken broth for the chicken and dumplings and I think that's what makes the soup supposedly great? lol. OJ isn't helping me. Now that AF has hit I'm willing to take my zinc pills now. I'm always too paranoid to take them if I might be pregnant.

I hope my post didn't come across as unsupportive. I thought you were frustrated, and was actually trying to support that emotion.

It's great that she is excited, I hope it goes well for you!

Despite feeling worse this afternoon than yesterday , I did manage to do two back carries in my wrap today. One I used to wash the dishes, but then it was getting uncomfortable. Realized he was too far down and one of my passes wasn't tight enough. The second one allowed me to check the mail since it's in another building in the complex. That one I had a good carry, but the way I tied it bothered me. I think I'm improving??? lol

I figure since I'm sitting on the couch I'm going to write up my mei tai post. I'm getting these up faster that I thought, but Aiden has been napping well and I've had zero desire to do anything but the minimum around the apartment.

So is Erin still in Jersey or did she decide she's done with us? :goofy:

I miss Christa too. I hope she gets to come back soon.

Is anyone else off a day? For some reason, I skipped Monday and went right to Tuesday, and I haven't really got straightened out yet. This morning I was thinking it was Thursday. Not sure why my prego brain is trying to rush time!

I get so tired so fast and I am such an emotional roller coaster that earlier I was telling DH that I needed to have this baby already. BUT, at the same time I am so not ready yet for another newborn. Lyla is still high needs and I guess will continue to be and when I think about a newborn, all I can think is that Lyla will be down to ZERO naps by then and Kole won't sleep at night and I'll never get to sleep. I'm scared.

I think Erin just got back? She just posted on FB earlier. I was wondering about her too!

Yes, I'm all messed up about the days of the week since DH was home Monday and my Stroller Strides didn't meet Monday either. I keep thinking today is Tuesday.

Is Lyla not napping well? She should still need a nap!!!

She's napping okay. She still takes one nap a day, and there are days where she'll nap for 1.5 to 2 hours, and that's a new development post transitioning to 1 nap per day. I'm just worried about it (I'm goofy like that) because there are days she will only take a 1 hour nap (or less) and her bedtime had gotten later and later, which makes me think that she might be getting ready to cut the nap out all together in the next few months. Just in time for the new baby to arrive. As it is, I'll count myself extremely lucky if she is still taking a nap after the new baby arrives and he naps at the same time. With 2 kids, they'll both have to be asleep if I am going to sleep.

I'm trying to remind myself that women for 100's of years have survived this stuff and I can too, but pg hormomes make me irrational (or so I'm told).

OMG. Lainey went to bed at 8. She woke up at 10, I just got her back to bed about 20 minutes ago. Now it is 11pm and I hear her squawking again. I do not know what to do with this kid! Why won't she sleep?!? Maybe the problem is me. Even high needs DD1 slept better at this age.

It's not you! Just keep trying. She's just obviously not ready to STTN for whatever reason. Just b/c they have the ability doesn't mean they're ready. ((hugs))

lol. Don't play the what if game with future naps! It'll drive you nuts. Wink
Aiden is just doing one nap a day now, but some days (like today) he only sleeps an hour. And then if he thinks he should take an early afternoon or even a late morning nap? OMG I'm pulling my hair out by dinnertime!!!

Also remember you're in the tough time. It'll be sooo much easier later on when they're both older!

It's not you, it's her. I hate these stages they go through. Lyla did this for a week straight the week before last. She's go to sleep at 7 or 8 and wake up again at 9 or 10 and stay up for another couple of hours before going to sleep. It gets very old very fast and is very frustrating. At least I thought it was. :/ I hope she gives you a good long stretch of sleep soon!

Erin was having the same problem with logging I was while she was away.

Ronin was the first asleep and the last awake at day care today, they actually had to wake him because they were worried he wouldn't sleep tonight. He is trying to drift off while having a feed at the moment so I keep jiggling him when he closes his eyes

Shhhhhhhh
For the second night in a row Ronin has gone to sleep early. It sucks because he is readjusting so we haven't had a bedtime story for two nights either because he is showing he is tired before we get to it and nusing and passing out. Tonight we got home just before 5:30 and he was asleep by 7:15 so it's pretty full on in that time. I miss having that playtime with him though, we get home nurse, I cook tea and wash up (wash as I cook usually, but if he is going to keep sleeping early I will start washing up when he goes to bed so can play while I cook), eat tea, have some fruit for dessert, bath, a bit of a run around, nappy on and by then he is showing he is sleepy so I nurse him. Tomorrow I am going to try and squeeze a book in but I don't want to miss that sleepy cue and have him go to over tired.

Woot 1.5 hours first stretch.

I also realised I really need to practice my back carry, I have 20 days to get it down before an event I will be attending where it will be more convenient (and safer, it's near the ocean) to wear Ronin. I guess some practicing is in order, too bad he gets antsy up there if he wnats to play.

It must have been a strange night for kids sleeping. Madison went to sleep at 8:30 which was a bit early for her, woke up at 2am wouldn't go back down, so we slept on the couch. DH leaves for work at 5:30- she decided it was the time to get up for the day. Crap lol.

Wendy, glad to hear he's sleeping a bit longer stretch at the beginning of the night. The transition time to one nap is rough. I kept trying to get Aiden to 1 nap and he kept wanting two and then thankfully we got through the worst of the hump while DH was off. Some days are still rough in the late afternoon, but we've managed to steam through.

Molly, I wasn't very happy when DS woke at 6am for the day, but at least that's later than 5:30am! Of course DH got up at 4am and was out the door before 5am. Only good thing about his early morning is that they have let him go home after 12 hours, so he'll be home by 5pm. I hope she sleeps better tonight, sounds like you'd appreciate that. Wink

I really would like to wake up one day and think, "hey, I don't feel worse!" Once again, I feel worse. On top of the sore throat and AF I now have a cough forming, I'm sneezing, and blowing my nose. Guess chicken and dumplings don't work Blum 3

I like how I post about being down to one nap and I just had to put Aiden down for a nap before 9:30am. Guess it's a 2 nap day for my sanity. This kid kept whining and couldn't figure out what he wanted, so I told him to bring me a book for night-night and he did. He's already out! Good grief. Maybe I can at least get a shower and some clean PJs. Lol

Isn't it weird how some days they are just big sleepers? You know, because they have such busy and demanding lives.
I hope you get to feeling better soon. That crud is going around so bad here.

Apparently he needs the extra sleep cause he's still out and it's almost 11am! Ugh. He's never going to nap again this afternoon is he? It's going to be a battle to keep him up till bedtime. As much as I've let him choose his schedule recently, I've gotta put my foot down at a 5pm bedtime. I am NOT getting up at 5am b/c somebody is wide awake. Blum 3

Ronin has been on one nap on weekends and sometimes at day care for awhile, but I think they may just be busier in the toddler room and he is wearing himself out more. You can tell he was ready to transition, all the reports I have is that he is doing well in there and in the mornings when I drop him off often all the toddlers and babies are together in the nursery until more staff get there/numbers of kids increase. We get there around 8:30 so they usually go back to their room while I am putting his things away and he tries to do a runner for the toddlers straight away.

I haven't heard of the Hunger Games. What is it about?

Jackie, did Aiden get a second nap? How is he doing? This house just got over whatever that junk is you have. It's awful and lasts forever!

Lyla is up playing in her kitchen right now. She just had a big adventure on the couch with me as she stood up behind me and pulled around on my hair. She was laughing hysterically. You should see my lovely new do!

We went for a walk today. I've been taking Lyla in the jogging stroller about once or twice a week when DH walks the dogs. I get these very sharp pains in my belly during these walks (or anytime I walk for a while). This one today was on my right side, just below belly-button level. It was too far on my belly to be RLP and it just got more and more intense as I kept walking. Then when I finally stopped for a second it started to subside. As I started walking again, it intensified again. I got really painful. Was it BH? When I read about them, it says that BH isn't supposed to be painful. I never had any with Lyla, that I ever felt.

Yep! It's a great book! I still haven't finished the 2nd but that's entirely due to it being a real book and me struggling to find time to read a real book. I keep meaning to download the ebook because I read those much, much faster since I tend to read at night after DH is in bed and a light disturbs him. If I had the ebook I'm sure I would have finished the last two a year ago - and quickly! Smile

There are a lot of things that can cause random pains. My BHs were just tightening of my lower belly but without any pain. I have read recently that it's not uncommon to feel a lot more random pains with #2 when #1 was a c/s.

Aiden took a 30ish minute catnap on DH right before dinner. Right now DH is paying for that because Aiden doesn't want to go to bed. lol

The Hunger Games is a young adult book, but don't let that stop you! Basically it's a whole lot of teens are forced to participate in a "game" where there is only one winner - the only one left alive in the end.

Anna, I think Jackie is probably right. It could be adhesions/scar tissue from the c-section that are pulling/stretching. I had a lot of different pains during my 2nd pregnancy that I attribute to the adhesions, and especially during physical activity. Couldn't hurt to mention at your next appointment, but I wouldn't worry about it unless it becomes unbearable or starts happening randomly, even when you aren't doing something physical.

I can't make up my mind about how I feel about the Hunger Games. They are good books, but not exactly what I would call an enjoyable read. They are very intense, and I read quickly just to find out what happens next because I can't stand the suspense. I just started the 3rd book, and it's not as intense (so far, anyhow) so I'm enjoying the break from the gut-wrenching anxiety I was getting with the first two! lol

I saw that there is a movie coming out, and I'm interested to see it but a little scared, too. I'm not sure I want to see what I was reading come to life! lol

The previews for the movie look good. Hopefully they didn't mess up the book too much. (and hopefully won't be targeted at kids! lol)
