I know there's a birthday presents thread and people have mentioned Christmas ideas here and there, but can we have a thread? I've been thinking about it a lot and just can't settle on one idea. I was just thinking about a dollhouse because she LOVES the one at her cousins' house, but I was poking around online just now and accidentally fell in love with this one, and it's so expensive and now everything else is going to seem to boring! Why!
Yeah doll houses are awesome but can get so fancy and expensive. She will be able to play with them for years though, the better quality they are.
A backpack is a good idea too. We are getting one for him for his birthday that is on Friday. He uses dh's and puts his toys and water cup in it.
For xmas the things on our list that we are putting on layaway this weekend after his birthday (to see if he gets any on them as gifts) is a red wagon, a beginners tricycle, a play tent, and a tball set
That doll house is sooooo cute!!! Fish are a great idea also. I need to get a backpack for Evan, his diaper bag got too worn.
Wendy, that sounds like a great gift.
We are doing this kitchen, which I just realized has went up on price since we bought it. I've got some extra M&D food picked out that I have not bought yet. He has some books, puzzles, and I'm sure we will get a pair of PJs. Oh, I just remembered, DH bought him a toy lawn mower and I got some "tools" for his stocking. Some of that may be birthday also, I haven't decided. I need to quit buying!! I start a little early and I think that makes me go overboard!
Aiden's santa gift is a M&D train set I got for $30.
He's also getting a few books, a new puzzle, a Cars "my first" remote control car (clearance for $7!), a Mr Potato Head, M&D dino magnets, 5 dino play toys (he was showing interest in that and now not so much, so we'll see how it goes over - at least I only spent $11 total on the magnets and dines), and 2 Cars talking cars (a $4 clearance find).
Stocking is 2 Curious George DVDs (there's a coupon for $3/2 and they're just $5 at Target), pack of crazy straws (.10 total last summer), a weird light up ball, and one of DHs old wallets filled with fake cards.
He'll get new PJs Christmas Eve.
I want to wrap everything NOW but DH won't get the wrapping supplies out of the attic.
ETA: My husband set aside $200 for Christmas and I spent $84. I asked if I could buy more diapers and wool with the rest.
For the past two years we have also gotten him one of those hallmark books where it comes with a stuffed animal that reacts and responds to things you read in the book. He loves them! other books go into his stocking too. We all open one present on christmas eve and it is a set of pajamas that we wear that night.
