Comforting sicky UPDATED x2 OP

I awoke to puke and a feverish baby at 3am. Sad Poor Teagan is a sad little sack today. What sort of things do you do to comfort your LOs when they're under the weather? My mom always heated me up chicken noodle soup or mac and cheese and let me watch TV all day. I think T's a little young for that. Wink

UPDATE:
Tylenol wasn't doing much for her 102 degree fever and her ears really seemed to bother her. We swung by her pedi. She has a double ear infection Sad but her lungs are clear and she's well hydrated. Doc prescribed antibiotics for the ear infection and lots of boob for everything else. In other news, she's now 29" tall and 22.3 lbs! We must have caught her right before a growth spurt at her 9 month appt because she's grown 1.25"!

He also said that the blister thing on her gum that I posted about awhile back is nothing to worry about and that I shouldn't be concerned that she's refusing to eat solids because she's more than making up for it through nursing. I figured as much but its always nice to hear it from the doc.

UPDATE x2:
The fever is all gone and my little Monkey is back to wreaking havoc all over the house. Her ever broke around 9pm last night. She slept fitfully but I think that was simply because she slept most of yesterday. My milk supply is going bonkers from all the nursing she did yesterday. I came out of the bedroom this morning and DH was like, "OMG, they're HUGE!" I'm so glad that was quick. In the past her fevers have lasted a few days. I guess her body is well practiced and can kick them in

Now to continue with the antibiotics Sad She hates them. I even had them flavor them with grape because she does OK with the Tylenol. She just spits most of it out. I have to be tricky. Oh, and I'm giving her tons of yogurt to keep the good buggies growing Wink

Well, we aren't faced with that problem much so I don't really have a "thing" that I do. But the couple of times DS has been sick and actually acted sick, we just spend the day cuddling. For DD1 I make chicken noodle soup.

Oh no! Sad

I think all you can do is offer lots of cuddles. Might be a good day to pull out the mei tai. When Aiden isn't up to par, he'll actually sit in my lap and watch TV with me for 30 minutes. We've only done that like twice, but that's 30 minutes that I've really enjoyed having him in my lap (he's usually WAY too busy for that).

I'm afraid the Mai Tai will keep her too warm. She's actually remarkably happy considering. Just a little more clingy and tired than usual. I'm also afraid to put her down in our room alone. After that seizure a few months ago I don't want to let her out of my sight. I gave her tylenol last night because I was terrified that she'd have a seizure while I was sleeping.

I piled a bunch of blankets on the floor and put on Sesame Street. This is the first time I've plopped her in front of the TV but a little Sesame Street while she's sick won't hurt. Ooooh, she's dancing and waving at Elmo!

Last night Owen puked exorcist style right after I nursed him. He doesn't have a fever though, and seems fine, so I am inclined to think the mexican restaurant we had dinner at puts butter/cream/milk in either their rice or beans.
Anyway, to answer your question...I usually give lots and lots of cuddles, and pretty much let them have whatever they want. Smile I remember Jacob getting a tummy bug when he was about this age, and he kept wanting to nurse but he would barf after EVERY session. I just let him do it though, and layered all the blankets we had on the sofa, that way I could just strip one down and throw it in the wash as needed.

Puking is no fun. Sad Hope she feels better soon!

The one time DS1 had stomach flu he was 13 months. He just wanted lots of cuddles and water. I also gave him Calopl and he slept most of the day

I hope she gets better soon

Oh no, poor baby. Odin just got over that stomach flu after like a week of vomit & fever to start. No fun. He wanted to be held a lot and nurse seriously non-stop even though it still made him sick 1/2 the time. His spirts were still pretty good though and he loved playing as long as I didn't leave his side.

Hope she gets well fast.

Oh, those ear infections can be nasty little boogers! I hope she starts feeling better soon and glad to hear the thing on her gums is nothing. That one had me kind of curious.

Glad she's back to her usual self. The last time Aiden got tylenol he looked so happy and eager to get it! He's super weird though. Wink
