Concerned

A few times Ronin has sat there hitting his head on something repeatedly, only lightly but over and over, the most was probably 5 times. Today he is in his high chair eating lunch and keeps hitting his head on the back of the chair. You can tell it's on purpose and not accidental and he seems to be doing it harder, but it's not hurting him. Should I be concerned?

is he angry or upset when he does it? my brother used to hit his head on the back of the couch when he was tired...Lucas bangs his leg repeatedly on the floor sometimes.

I hope its normal because Teagan does it all the time! She mostly smacks herself in the head with her hand when she's tired or when she's nursing to sleep. I've heard that babies do rhythmic things like that to mimic the feeling of their mom's heart beat in the womb. Could be nonsense. Anyway, I'm fairly sure its normal.

My son hits himself in the head (hard!) all the time too. Kids are weird. Wink

Neither of my kids have ever done this, but I have heard it can be quite common.

Neither of my kiddos either but DS1's bb had quite a few as well. Normal random thing I've learned.

My old daycare baby used to do that around 7 months old. I stopped watching her over the summer and when school started and the came back she would throw upself back and would hit her head on whatever it was. She would always do it because she was mad but that phase did end. Although it drove me absolutely crazy because I was always so worried she was goign to hurt herself one day..

Chloe does this! She hit her head on the chair the other day because she slung herself backwards. She does the high chair thing all the time. She has learned that if she goes just as quickly forwards too, she can move it!! Crazy baby. the fits are starting! Smile

DS1 did all the time. I think they are just testing what they can do before it hurts Smile

My kids occasionally do something like that...or with their hands...
