Evan likes to eat lotion to if I don't watch out. Every night after bath, we put lotion on, he'll either wipe a little off of his body and eat it or open the lid and get some. Yuck!! I make a big deal and say "gross" and he laughs and does it. Maybe I should tone it down.
I think Lucas is probably a righty, but I only say that b/c I'm a righty, his dad is a righty, his sister is a righty, and almost everyone else I know, except my dad who is ambidextrous. But it's hard to say b/c he uses both hands still to eat and to color/draw.
I use kids stuff for Lucas now - Suave kids body wash and Suave tear-free 2-in-1 shampoo. I pretty much just make sure that I get tear-free for him b/c he absolutely HATES for me to wash his hair and won't cooperate with me when I'm trying to rinse it out, so he gets shampoo in his eyes every time. I think I switched Lily to adult shampoo and conditioner about when she turned 3, and that's b/c it was getting so long and the 2-in-1 stuff wasn't really doing a great job of detangling. But since Lucas is a boy I don't really have to worry about that with him as much, so he will be using the Suave stuff for a long time. At least until I go through the big 4-pack I just bought at Sam's.
Simon hates if I wash his hair in the bath. If I shower with him he does awesome and doesnt even flinch when i wash and rinse his hair. I'm not entirely sure why, but I think it's because he gets used to the water coming down on his head beforehand since the shower head is going. Maybe that would work with Lucas and he wouldnt get so upset? Because it's a nightmare with Simon in the bath.
It used to be a nightmare for us too, and then one day she just [I]got it[I]...the concept of tilting your head back so the water/soap doesn't get in your face. It was so weird--literally overnight it went from a horrible struggle to the easiest thing in the world! I'm not exactly sure what happened. I think DH did or said something that finally clicked.
We have one of those handheld shower heads, which works really well for that now.
However, even when it was a struggle I had to use real conditioner. Adair's fine, curly, long hair is a nightmare to comb if I don't.
OMG, Lucas hates the shower and seriously FREAKS OUT the whole time when I have tried to take one with him. I don't know what it is, but I probably won't be trying that with him again anytime soon. He loves bath time, just hates the having his hair washed part. Hopefully he will just get it one day like Adair! I've tried so many times to have him watch his sister while she does it, and he is so not interested.
