Days that you just want them to end?

Anyone else have these type of days. It's 7:26. Olivia woke up at 4:40 and didn't go back to sleep. Ethan is still getting over his tummy bug and still has diarrhea. They are fighting like cats and dogs.

How do you all get through days like this? When you're tired, kids are irritable and its barely beginning?

Drink lots of coffee, eat cake and ice cream lol.
Honestly, I have no ideas sorry. But I hope Ethan gets better and Olivia lays back down for you.

TV. It's awful, but true.

Yep. Put on some Sesame Street or other reasonably wholesome program and just keep the coffee comin'. Everybody has those days. HUGS!

Take them to grandma's? jk Lol

Alcohol? Not in the morning, but if they are stressing me out I will have a glass of wine or something. Or put some Bailey's in that coffee Biggrin

I agree with all of the other comments. Good luck, I hope it is getting better for you.

It did get a little better when I brought out art projects and play doh, but I'm exhausted!!! They are in there rooms for nap/quiet time so hopefully I can re-group and be ready for the afternoon madness! I hope they both sleep too, we'll see.

I must have the strangest kids around - they will only watch about 20-30 minutes of TV and then they get bored! Great in general, sucks on a day like today! LOL

Hopefully naptime will reset everybody! And even 30 minutes of peace is better than nothing on a day like that, no? Wink

Naptime is my life saver, especially on those days. I just focus on survival when those days happen and look forward to bedtime when I can have a glass of wine and a little downtime and hope that the next day goes better.

I'll sheepishly admit that I use TV too. I reserve it for the most dire of circumstances (like a 5am cranky toddler wakeup after not sleeping and having a DH who is unconscious). That way it doesn't get old. Though Teagan doesn't actually do much watching. It just gives me something to do while she nurses and lets me get some coffee in. I just found Fraggle Rock on Amazon Prime. Made my year!

Beyond that I just use outside. I put the misters on and veg in a lounge chair while Teagan destroys something. Beer helps a lot.

When all else fails, put them in water. Inside (bath) or outside (wading pool) or any other thing that involves squirting, splashing, or pouring water.

I agree--something involving water is usually a really great bet at our house too.

tv doesn't really work for us either. he only watches for 5 minutes and then gets bored.

Going outside is always a winner. The second i say the word outside he perks up, stops crying etc and goes "ah da?" (outsie)

Ooooo. That's today! My child got up at 5:45am and has yet to nap and it's 7:30pm. He's watching Elmo on my phone right now because it keeps me from killing him. It's still very bright in the bedroom we're staying in so he refuses to sleep. *sigh* I spent the day pretending I didn't have a toddler screaming on my back as I shopped for baby girl as peacefully as I could. Lol I also took him to a park to play for awhile which he loved despite the fact he kept yawning the whole time. When we're home we do lots of water time (splash pool out back and tub time inside on one day? Don't mind if I do!!!) and Aiden will watch Disney musicals for 45 minutes or so now. I drink lots of caffeine (tea, cokes, coffee) and stay busy rather than let him just run around. Letting Aiden just run around the house usually makes the day seem worse to me because he makes a bigger mess and still doesn't occupy himself for longer than 5 minutes.

Ugh, dealing with day 2 of 'those days' right now. Last night I laid next to the crying/fussy baby that wouldn't be soothed and cried too. It helped a little cause I picked up the baby & we both passed out on the couch for 3 hours.

It's rough on those days! Glad I'm not the only one that wants to quit on those days!
