Disappointing Mother's Day....

The novelty of Mother's Day has officially worn off in my house. I hope I don't come off sounding selfish but you'd think with having older kids I'd get a little more respect on Mother's Day. The only person that even did anything for me was Cheyenne. She made me a wonderful Scrapbook....it was awesome. She is such a caring kids. All the other....nadda, nothing....zilch. I did get Happy Mother's Day..... even my hubby, nothing. NO flowers.....boo hoooooo...pitty party for me.

Don't get me wrong, I had a great day.....we went to my brother's for a big family BBQ. I got to see my mom, I don't know why I'm being so poo poo about this. I guess I'd just think my 21yo son could have at least got his mom flowers.

pitty party over.....back to life

Hope you all had a great Mother's Day.

I think your older kids need a kick in the butt. I have to admit, I wasn't great at celebrating Mother's Day in my late teens (I wasn't great to my Mom either) but once I hit my 20s I always made sure to at least take her out to lunch and get her something nice. My crappy siblings didn't do anything for her this year. You'd think they would remember with all the commercials for Mother's Day!

I'm sorry your older kids didn't do anything. I bet once they are parents things will change & they will celebrate mothers day a little better.

Awww that sucks Sad I'm sorry that your Mother's Day kinda sucked... Mine wasn't great either to be honest... Sophie & DD1 woke up at 8a and DF didn't budge from the bed, so I got up... He crawled outta bed around 11a and made only himself breakfast, then a buddy of his showed up and they hung out for 2h talking about kitchen remodeling. Once he left DF hoped in the shower, got dressed and then once again only made himself lunch and then said "are you all ready to go cause we've got to get to my mom's" I'm like are you serious?! Sure I'm ready to go... I'll go in my f-ing pj's... So needless to say, I didn't get to sleep in, I didn't get to freaking shower, I didn't get a card, or flowers or anything, ohhhh and when we got to his mothers, he and his father went out to the garage for like the whole visit, the only time they came inside was to eat... Blah... Ok; vent more or less over!!

I second the murder option. That's ridiculous, disrespectful, selfish, and WRONG. I would be really upset with him. I don't need diamonds and chocolates and the whole world given to me, but a card, maybe some flowers, and for the day to be based on ME is what makes it awesome. My kids each gave me a gift they made at school and I got flowers from my grandma and a gift cert for a mani/pedi from my mom. My husband didn't even get me a card, which is unusual, and bummed me out a tad. BUT he did make the entire weekend all about me. I didn't want to do ANYTHING because my week was *so* chaotic, and so I didn't! He did all the chores, took care of the kids (well, more than his share, I can't stay away from my kids) and let me go to sleep early. So it was a good weekend for me.
