Don't think I'll make it to old age! Updated in O.P.

This kids takes YEARS off my life on an almost daily basis!! Today she was walking around with her bottle in the kitchen while I was fixing us lunch. Well she reached over to lean against this plastic stroage thing with wheels on it and it, of course, rolled away. She fell and hit her face on the botton of the cabinet. I scooped her up and her mouth was filled with blood! My first thought was the she knocked out one of her new precious teeth, but once I got her mouth rinsed out a bit, all her teeth appeared to be there. She wouldn't let me get a good look at the injury but her lip is a bit swollen now. I have her an ice cube inside her mesh feeder and she walked around sucking on that for a while as I finished lunch. Ugh! I swear that cost me 10 years off my life!!! How does anyone with kids manage to get old!?

UPDATE:
I took her to a pediatric dentist because there is blood in the gumline of her top tooth that won't go away. Front and back, and it looks to me like the tooth got pushed in. The dentist gave her a cursory exam (she HATED him on site, so strange! She's never hated anyone like that.) and he said that she developed a blister and that it would likely heal on it's own in a few days. I know he's probably right, but still don't like it, and I wasn't really happy with how brief the exam was. Of course, I suppose it's disconcerting for a dentist to try to examine the gums of a screaming, squirming infant. . . I'll be keeping an eye on it. She doesn't seem bothered by it at all though.

aw poor Lyla!! we havn't had any bleeding accidents yet, but I always feel horrible when he falls. There was actually one incident where DH left the door to the basement stairs open:eek: He was pretty close to them.

We've had a few bloody lip incidents. Its remarkable how quickly they heal! If I biffed it the way Teagan does, I'd be laid up for a week. After the initial tears, Teagan acts like nothing happened.

Oh no!! Sad I probably would have puked if I were you. Sophie was drinking a milkshake (yes, a milkshake) from a straw the other day while in a shopping cart and DF ran right into the side of an isle thingy and Sophie started screaming at the top of her lungs cause the straw had jammed into her mouth somewhere... I started crying right along w her and was so angry at DF (even tho I know it probably could have just as easily been me pushing the cart) but I felt so bad for her!! There didn't seem to be any blood but still... could you imagine?!?!

Ouch, poor girl.
Odin fell on top of a board book last week and busted his lip open too. So much blood. I swear mouths bleed way more than other body parts even if they do heal fast.

Another lip bleeding incident here. Simon fell and sort of banged his mouth on the coffee table. I think he bit his lip on the way down. After a few minutes he acted like nothing was wrong. It did bleed quite a bit though. Poor little man!

:bighug:

I have boys, a day doesn't go by where someone injures themselves. And I don't understand why they always have to bang their face/head. Tobey was holding himself up on a chair earlier and fell backwards, the chair on top of him and he's got a big bump on his forehead and yesterday DS1 walked into a piece of furniture at my Grandmas and has a bump on the back of his head!!

KIDS

Trevor is also accident prone! the boy already has a huge scar on his lip because he fell over while playing with his truck outside on the sidewalk and his lip ripped open.. I am sure I posted about this while I was pregnant.

Chloe has not really had any accidents that involve blood yet. I hope she feels better soon

If she doesn't seem bothered its probably fine but good job bringing her in to see a dentist. Blood like that would make me worry too. Maybe he was keeping it short for Lyla's benefit. He's also probably not used to seeing patients so young. She's smart to fear the dentist. They are scary.

I wish I would have read this before you even went to the dentist about it, That happened to Trevor at least twice and he was 100% fine! Smile IDK if their gums are sensitive or what? I never took him to the dentist about it because it did not bleed much, just in front and behind the gum like you described. His teeth are prefect..

At least you know what happened! Aiden has all kinds of scrapes and bruises and I can't account for 95% of them. I have no doubt that I'll be seeing the ER sometime in the next couple of years from Aiden's "adventures."

That makes me feel better. At least I know she didn't do something to her tooth that's going to cause problems in the future for her.

Number one thing is done touch her teeth. I used to work as a dental assistant and the best thing to do is to let it heal on its own, but dont wiggle the teeth.
