Easter Overload

Help me! I've gone insane. Please learn from my mistakes. DO NOT attempt to give your DH a few hours of baby free homework time on the weekend by going to every toy store in town looking for "one special thing" that the Easter Bunny will leave for your LO. You will come home with:

A Corolle Baby Doll (OK, this was actually on my list).
Accessories for the Corolle Baby Doll (not on my list but obviously needed).
A play umbrella (FREE with Corolle baby doll).
A set of M&G wooden letter magnets (gotta keep up with Lucas! ;)).
A set of M&G wooden number magnets.
2 books (on my list).
1 play shopping basket (T insisted).
2 sticker books (cheap and useful).
A wee watering can (OMG cute!).
A little adirondack chair that matches your porch set oh so perfectly.
Two new sets of pajamas (who could pass up monkeys OR frogs?!).
A new sun hat (though she actually needed a new one for daycare).
4 new pairs of shorts (needed ... but 4?!).
1 seriously cute Easter dress that your LO picked out all by herself.

Not to mention 2 packs of Cadbury eggs (for me and DH ;)) & 2 chocolate bunnies (for T and DH, I don't eat bunnies).

AND I didn't even find the things I really wanted ... a tricycle and a plastic (NOT freaking blowup) pool.

PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one who went insane this Easter!

Ronin so far has nothing and is only likely to get 1 egg and either dinosaurs or cars from the Easter bunny. I haven't even been shooping, but will probably go Easter Saturday when they start marking stuff down. Yup I'm cheap, but in my defence it's hot and it would melt, or I would eat it

wow that is a lot Blum 3 Teagan is going to have fun playing with everything!!!

i bought him a sand/water table so far, but i just plan to get an outfit, some chocolate, and maybe another small toy. Easter has never been huge for us, it was mostly chocolate growing up but i don't want to give him lots of that.

Wendy, i totally don't buy chocolate/candy until the day before or else i will eat it all

I don't get my kids much for Easter because I know our families will buy too much crap for them anyway. From us they are getting a tiny bit of candy, they are each getting a small toy, sidewalk chalk, and silly putty. They will get 10x that once the weekend is all said and done from everyone else.
But I I feel guilty complaining about it, what a problem to have, right?! Too many people love my kids and want to give them things.

Lol

I just need to get Aiden some small thing of milk chocolate and I'll be done, but back in WF I bought him a DVD set of children's books as cartoons, M&D magnet letters (which he really doesn't need since he already has the leap frog letters but whatever), a couple of board books, "unspillable" bubbles, easter eggs (I bought 2 sets, one that he's been playing with and has lost half of and another set for the basket lol), an Elmo easter basket, and I know I'm forgetting something. He's not exactly lacking here. My husband keeps whining about how Aiden doesn't need anything, but it's a good excuse to get him a few things that's not lumped together from birthday/christmas.

We bought him a dog! The local animal shelter was having a reduced adoption fee day so we went and let him socialize with different ones and choose one. He is also getting a small basket with some candy, coloring books, playdoh, and books.

Wow, I need to hang out with you when you go shopping!

My kids are each getting a pack of bunny crackers and bunny grahams. I found Odin a little wind up bunny that does flips and Ryland a egg shaped slime with mini-dinos in it. Usually I do bathing suits or bath toys but we really don't need anything like that right now at all. Maybe if they are lucky they will get a sibling for Easter to add to their baskets.

So far I don't have anything for Isabelle. She does have a ton of plastic easter eggs that my grandma gave her so she has been playing with those. I will probably just get her some bunny grahams and applesauce snacks and maybe a small toy or two.

Haha! Lol

Wow, I need to shop with you sometime! I don't usually do much for Easter. I was just going to get him some more magnet letters and a Magna Doodle. And fill some plastic eggs w/ the M&Ms I still have left over from Valentines Day and the Hershey's nuggets left over from St. Patricks Day. Biggrin My Easter Bunny is cheap this year!

Smile Im pretty sure Natalie would be PISSED if she saw T's easter basket, or any of the Easter baskets because she isnt getting one! Sad

I did buy her a dress, which was needed but Ive come to realize with the more kids I have the less they need so Im taking full advantage of this since she is at an age of not caring or remembering. Plus Grandma and Auntie will be giving her a basket! So im off the hook!

You have to understand something, Christa. I found tricycles. Lots actually. What I did not find was one that suits the tastes of Teagan's bike crazy parents (mostly her picky bike crazy Daddy). I can't have my kid riding on just ANY tricycle. Plastic won't do. Frilly tassles won't do. Battery requirements (YES, some need batteries apparently) won't do. DH actually wants to get her a vintage Radio Flyer. I keep telling him that they didn't make small toddler-sized Radio Flyers. Alas, the man will not listen.

ROFL

After watching videos of balance bikes, I'm trying to convince DH that Aiden needs that over a tricycle sometime next year. Lol

Ronin has a smart trike (which I need to upgrade to the next level but lost the instructions) and a bike my Dad got him. I have the bike hidden away at this point, but it's there ready when he gets a bit bigger and we can find a helmet that will fit him.

My DH was eying a $300 balance bike. Out of control, that man is.

Helmets that fit are SO important and oh so hard to find. The smallest one we were able to find fits down to 19". Teagan's head is 19.25" and it barely fits right. I don't know what parents with regular sized heads do.

Ronin has an extra large head, but because the helmets are made for bigger kids they flop down on him. I'm going to have to find a specialty bike shop I think.

They do, we have one! Have you ever seen the picture of DS riding it naked in my house?! If not, I'll post! Smile

Whats the point of being a parent if you can't get photos of your kids to embarrass them at milestone birthdays and first serious partners.
