Janice, thinking about TTC does motivate me, I'm just very lazy. Plus it's a pain to get away to exercise and a pain to eat healthy since that would mostly involve me eating separately from DH since he doesnt like that much healthy food. I did it a few years ago. I managed to lose 70 lbs eating healthy and exercising, so I know I can do it.

The problem is that I'm sort of an all or nothing type person. So I diet and exercise hardcore when I do, and I dont want it to affect my breastmilk supply, so I know I should do it slow, but I dont know how to do it slow. you know?

yes, that sucks! and having separate meals from your DH makes it more challenging! my DH is the same. I'm still trying to lose 35 pounds i have to force myself to use the treadmill 2-3 times a week but i really should be going on more. Eating will be a lot easier once i go back to work but then finding time for exercise will be a challenge. That is awesome that you lost 70 pounds!!:) I think that is also good motivation right there, you know you can do it!! i understand the being lazy though it seems like too much effort most days lol

With my husband I had to slow turn things healthier. He didn't notice at first. Lol Now he's given up and admits it all tastes just fine.
And I walked. A LOT.

my DH doesn't mind too much, but sometimes he will make a face if i make something. I am always asking for feedback when i try something new though so if he says it's ok and he is lying i keep making it!! lol. His family actually commented today that it looked like he lost weight!!! I have lost about 3 pounds:rolleyes: but as long as i am losing even if it is slowly I am ok with that.

DH had Crohns so he cant really eat anything that is very fibery, like broccoli, corn, etc. It sometimes makes eating healthier a challenge, especially since he wants to lose weight as well. I have more to lose though.

Yes work will definitely make eating healthier easier. It will be a workout for me too since I am on my feet for almost 12 hours. I'd like to lose weight before then though, everyone at work is going to wonder what the heck happened to me! I hate being bigger than I was the last time they saw me. Sad

My FIL once told me that I make DH eat too many healthy things.
DH needs it though. Since I changed up my cooking 2 years ago, he hasn't had to worry about weight gain at all. And I lost over 20lbs the 6 months leading up to me getting pregnant.

I definitely say that working helps! You can't snack and you have to eat what you brought yourself from home! lol.

That's definitely a challenge with your hubby:(

I just want to lose the extra fat around the thigh/waist/hip area. i would like to fit into my pre baby jeans without a horrible muffin top that is going on right now. And get off these stupid pills. I see my Dr. Tuesday, I'm hoping my bp has lowered and i can start weaning off of them.

I've not had my BP checked since my 6 week follow up appointment. I really should, but I don't feel like waiting in line behind all of the active duty with DS with me. It would take forever to be seen here. Sad

i dislike this system you have going on! they should have a seperate DR. for the wives/babies. Or different times you can go in or something.

I go back to work Oct 10, the day after Simon's bday. Sad BOOO!! I often dont get to eat at work because we're so busy!! I'm really really hoping to start on a new floor but it's not looking that way. I'm going to keep looking though.

I should really head off to bed. I'm nodding off here. Have a good night ladies! Biggrin

It's just this stupid base. They're not equipped to handle families really. There's just one pedi here. The wives are to be seen by flight med, which of course is set up to see the pilots first! I don't even have a primary care manager like I would at every other base. They have no reason to set up more for families because some years they have a lot less family here than others.

Yeah, just this base that's super dumb. I didn't always love medical at our last base, but I was able to be seen and it was free.

No idea on timing, but hopefully sometime this fall/winter. Very latest spring. DH is "old" and they'll want him out of here and on to more training as soon as possible. Just depends on when the training starts for whatever plane he gets. We'll at least have *some* answers Sept 16th.

Most of the time I like it because DH and I don't know where we want to settle down. We just knew we didn't want to stay in the Memphis area where we both grew up. I kinda see the lifestyle as a way to "test out" different areas. lol. It's annoying when I'm stuck someplace that I know I don't want to live ever (like here), but at least I know it's temporary.

Yep. We've got a long ways to go. DH has a 10 year commitment that starts in October! By that point he would have put in 15 years and might as well stay in for retirement (20 years +)....assuming there is any by that point. *sigh*

Okay, I'm going to put this salmon on my next menu but have no idea what to fix with it. No green beans and no rice.

Yeah, I usually do rice with fish like that, but I'm having rice the previous night along w/ green beans. lol.

Though I could do green beans with the fish and put broccoli with the previous night w/ the orange chicken.

5 years this month for actual uniform time, though he technically has served for 7 years. Sadly those first two years don't count towards retirement (it was a really weird college program).

I have never eaten a sweet potato lol!

It felt like I was getting shocked and sliced open with a knife, over and over Smile
but, I would do it again, so I guess it wasn't too bad. I was uncontrollably shaking though..dh had to hold my shoulder down lol

def, not worse than real childbirth (the whole contractions business) but my c section was much more pleasant! but I was drugged up with my c section.

You should bake a sweet potato Ashley! It's very sweet all by itself. It also has a lot more nutrients than regular potatoes. Smile

mmm ya that is not comforting LOL.:) I'll suck it up and get one some day. What will you get next time?

A sweet potato tastes like a potato that is sweet lol. it's weird tasting, I'm not sure how I feel about them but maybe it's just a taste you need to get used to.
