you must all post pics of your adorable LO's :D
the leaves are finally starting to fall here so i might attempt Lucas' fall photoshoot this weekend. It's a long weekend because it is Thanksgiving, but we are also going to be super busy so we will see. and he is way more active now so hopefully the pumpkins, leaves will distract him and he will stay still and not start going after my camera saying "cheeeeeese"
We have two versions of the canon powershot. Neither have charged batteries at the moment.
Aiden has never had a professional picture taken of him. The last professional picture I had was my wedding and while I do like the photos they're not amazing to me. I'm way too cheap to spend the money on a photographer that takes amazing photos and lets me have a CD and rights to print them and such. There are very few pictures of me because my husband takes terrible photos. Like boobs in the middle of the shot (nice and big) or legs cut off at awkward places, blurry, etc. If the man had a real camera I shudder to think how bad they'd be then.
It's not even 9am and I've yelled at my son and can feel that I have zero patience today. Head is killing me. He's hitting me with blocks. I'M DONE!!! And of course DH was at work before 7am and is schedule till 8pm and he still has the debrief after that!!!
Janice, what kind of camera do you have? We should all get Janice to take our family photos!
I'm sorry your morning is starting off rough, Jackie. Lyla is just now stirring in her room so we'll see how today goes over here. I bet I have to yell at her not to poke her brother in the eye or stick her feet in his face within 5 minutes of being up, but hopefully I'm wrong and she'll be a complete angel all day today. Maybe you need a trip to Target?
I need to bake Lyla's cakes today. I'm doing cupcakes for her birthday cake and then stealing Ashley's idea of arranging them into a big 2. It'll be cute.
It's going to be freezing cold this weekend here. Well, 50's during the day.
Jackie, hope it gets better. *deep breath* It'll be okay!!
Anna- Did you get the tape out for Lyla today?
Morning all! I really want a fancy camera too. We have a pretty decent hand me down Lumix, but when I see the pics other regular people are getting with their slightly nicer newer cameras I am super jealous. I mostly just use my phone because it's so easy (but I chose that phone because it has a pretty good camera) My biggest complaint is the delay--hard to take good pics of a toddler when the shutter is like a full second after you hit the button!
So this morning was good but weird--Addy woke at 4:15 and I went in and said it's still night, go back to sleep and then supernannied her (when I say this I mean sit at the foot of her bed on the floor with my back to her and ignore her unless she's really ramping up, at which point I just give her a quick "shhhh!" and go back to ignoring) And it actually did work! She went back to sleep within 10 minutes! ALARM CLOCK FOR THE WIN. However then I woke up at 5:51 and realized she'd slept THROUGH the green light (it only stays on for a half hour) and I didn't want to confuse her about the rule, so I snuck in and reset it for 5:55...but then when I snuck back in to put it back on the shelf, she woke up. So in order not to confuse her I had to make her wait for it. It was annoying. So I need to find the manual and see if there's a way to get it to stay on for an hour...I don't want to set it TOO late and make her wait...huh. At least we got a decent night's sleep and she's still excited about it.
Okay, onward to PT Day Two. So far she peed immediately upon getting up, and is now eating breakfast. Fingers crossed.....
50s! OMG FREEZING. I think it's going to be like 90 here. And that will feel nice and cool
Finally working on getting caught up in chat again. My computer is so slow these days, I hate to even turn it on. Ugh.
I have a cannon powershot S5 IS. It's a decent camera, I think I've had it for 4ish years. It's not super fancy, but I can take decent photos with it so it works for now. Some day I'm going to upgrade to a nicer camera.
We get 'professional' photos taken about twice a year. We go to a place called portrait innovations. It's not too overly expensive, and you get TONS of printed pics that they print that day, plus a CD with all the pics from the shoot. It's worth it to me, because we almost always end up with better pics than the ones I take, plus the kids think it's fun and will actually do things like both look at the camera at the same time, and smile. Sometimes all those things even happen in one picture! Rarely happens here. Usually if I'm taking the pics, DD1 stares off randomly with a cheesy fake smile, and Lainey turns her head and looks away from me before she'll smile. Frustrates the heck out of me.
Jackie, sounds like it's going to be a rough day. I hope it gets better! Have you made homemade play dough before? Might be a fun project for both of you and a distraction.
Anna, your cupcake cake sounds super cute.
Ultrasound tomorrow! I am ridiculously excited, considering that this is the 3rd time we've done this. I think it's because it's at a cool place that just does ultrasounds, and we get a DVD of the baby.
Now....to find out the gender or not.....that is the question. I remember driving myself crazy trying to decide when we were going for Lainey's ultrasound, too.
Leigh, I guess the cold front has hit you there. It's supposed to hit here tonight and only be 60*F here tomorrow!! Last year Lyla's party got rained out and this year it's going to be cold!! I hope you can chance the clock to stay on longer! Good luck with the PT today.
Call me crazy, but Lyla is in panties today. She asked to go potty this morning and when I took her diaper off she actually peed in the potty, so I went with panties.
I am very suddenly feeling like I'm going to vomit. WTH.
Ooh good call on the playdough. Adair loves hers she got as her favor from the rainbow party :) I learned that the highchair is great for that.
Hope your day improves though!!
I figured out how to set the alarm light duration so now I love the clock again. PHEW.
