That's awesome--I love that feeling! We did that Thursday and Friday but lost steam and have been kinda pokey the rest of this long weekend. I think we're all just WIPED.
So after three successes (including peeing entirely on her own that involved pulling on/off shorts!) and one accident this morning at home, she had another pee accident at Trader Joe's but it was pretty much contained to her shorts and she actually asked to go to the potty--just a little too late. Once we got there, she freaked out about wanting me to change her diaper (which we didn't have, obviously), and I had to force her onto the toilet, but I was able to get her to calm down with deep breaths and then start laughing a bit and she finally relaxed enough to pee on the big toilet at the store! It wasn't fun or perfect but it was big step for her, so I'm proud. I also realized that cleaning up pee accidents like that is no worse than poop blowouts in diapers, which if you recall we were having a lot of lately anyway (in fact, it's LESS gross) so other than being worried about how she'll do at school/my mom's and extra careful about the car (I really hate cleaning car seats...) I'm actually feeling pretty OK with this whole diaperless thing, even with accidents. A little more so every day, which I guess is how these things go...
Well, I spent the afternoon shopping toddler free. I think it might have gone better if he had been with me actually since I went out with the whole purpose of finding Aiden winter clothes (cause he had 4 shirts and 2 won't fit until after Christmas I bet if not later). While I could buy shirts, I saw a few pants sales (and of course I had coupons lol) but couldn't buy pants because I need to try those on him he's so awkward in sizing. Oh well. At least I'm no longer paranoid about my son not having clothes! Bring on cooler weather now! lol
He needs to be kicked in the balls, Kristi. He's messed up in the head. Why does he feel the need to go crap all over your announcement with it attitude. He can guess girl if he wants to guess, but he doesn't need to be a jerk about it! I'd be mad too!
Jackie, I think I'm going to have the same sizing issues with Kole.
Leigh, that's huge! You'll have her trained in no time!
My daughter is so weird. After spend a week + insisting on keeping 3 or 4 stuffed animals in her bed with her, tonight she tossed them all out. And then she kept asking for something else and I couldn't understand what she was wanting so finally I just gave her a kiss and left the room, and she was fine with it. Odd child.
Aiden decided over the summer he hated his lovely. The only that he now insists on having in bed with him - but the lovely cannot be under any covers at all! These kids are truly strange at times....
And yeah, he's awkward. 18 month pants are still a bit too long on him but he's not tripping on them at least.....BUT he needs the waist of 24 month pants. Fun times. He's been wearing nothing but 24 month shorts, so he might be wearing those with baby legs for awhile. lol
That's why my SIL and I (for our business) make all our pants with a cute rollable cuff. Kids are not standard shapes and sizes! Addy's been wearing 3-6m shorts the past few days because without a diaper they actually fit perfectly. Weird.
Wish us luck...Addy goes diaperless to my Mom's today....
I'm finding that the older Madison gets, the harder it is to get her in pants that fit. She needs 24mo length, but 12mo size waist. The girl has no butt.
So...the little birdie has flown the nest. She peed 3 times in the potty on her own this morning at home, and I brought it over to my mom's so she'd have a choice between that and the big potty. I was so worried that she'd be resistant to pottying over there (like she has been in the past), but instead she was PSYCHED and peed in her potty to show off almost as soon as we got there! Feeling really hopeful now.....I did bring her about a thousand extra pairs of pants just in case. If she has a good day today, I MIGHT be able to send her off to school tomorrow without having a panic attack.
Kristi, I was a little shocked how people reacted to your FB picture. Its like everyone's rooting for a boy and will be let down when they find out its "just" another girl. That almost never seems to happen when its all boys. Lame! If we have another girl and people give us crap, I'm going to rain fire on them.
Adair is doing SO well!! I bet she'll do great at daycare tomorrow. We've had a bad few potty days. She's had maybe 10 pee accidents in the past few days. She's being really resistant to the big potty and absolutely refusing to use public potties. I think it has something to do with the rash because she's been saying it hurts All the more reason to kill this Fing rash. I'm filling the prescription for the stronger steroid today.
Where can I find silver or sparkly tights/leggings for Teagan? DH insists that she's going to be a robot for Halloween, which means I have to come up with a toddler-friendly robot costume. I plan to try Target today. We're also tackling decorating the yard for Halloween today! Hopefully the little monster will nap so I can finish the dresser too. Ah, big plans.
