Note on my BFF's peanut...she wasn't gaining weight, and everyone was concerned...turns out she was tongue tied. What is with all the tongue tied babies I've been hearing about lately? Anyway, they clipped her and apparently it was like night and day. She's WAY less fussy, sleeping well, etc. (because, duh, she's not starving anymore) and everyone's mood has done a 180. SO GLAD they figured that out...

Leigh, I'm glad that was figured out. must have been really stressful for everyone

just got back from a kid friendly baby shower. I was able to contain Lucas for about 5 minutes before i just let him run wild. Well, not totally every once in awhile i was jumping up running after him for something. For the most part though i let him loose. I am so tired now, we have a stag and doe tonight for the same people and my cousin is coming to babysit. i cant see us staying long, i am ready to sleep now lol. We are totally just going for the prizes

Seriously, what IS up with all the tongue tied and lip tied babies lately!? I have heard about way more babies in the last year that are one or the other than I have EVER heard of.

Anna- holy cuteness!!!! He is getting SOOOO big. He's so flipping cute he's making ME ovulate!

How is it that my little guy is giving me baby fever? Isn't that supposed to be something you get later on when you don't have a newborn?!

We went to my nieces wedding today with the 3 little kids, DD1 had a tournament that I missed (boo!) but the wedding was beautiful. I was able to nurse Noah in church during the mass very discreetly, it was a good confidence builder. You'd really think that after 3 nursed kids I'd be pretty confident nursing in public by now but I haven't NIP'd with the others as much as I have Noah. Clara was terrible in church so DH spent most of the mass in the back of church with her while me and the two boys watched. I brought the kids home to take naps and DH is with his brothers no doubt drinking it up. Now that I'm home I'm getting so much stuff done while everyone naps and I want to stay here and keep being productive but I can't, have to go back to the reception.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday!

Anna, he is definitely very adorable. I love his chunkiness. He looks sooooo much older than he is! And he always looks so happy and content.

Glad that the mass part wasn't too bad Christa.

Sounds like a very long day for you too Janice!

I got to sleep in....some. Stupid thunderstorms kept coming through waking me up. First thing I did was make my grocery list and go off to the commissary. And lucky me. As soon as I got there and opened my phone app with my grocery list I noticed half of my list was gone. I got to go shopping by memory. Let's say that didn't go so well even after spending over an hour there. Afterwards I got DH to hang stuff up on Zoe's walls. I spent some time organizing her stuff and realizing that I have sooooooooooo much washing to do. Ugh. I HATE that part. I suck at laundry. Now I'm in pain and I'm tired. Oh and I'm pretty sure Zoe flipped to breech too last night. I really don't think she's all that big with all of this flipping she's doing these days.

Anna, that is one adorable baby!

Janice, sorry about the cats! When I worked at the animal clinic we would get calls all.the.time about cats not using their litter boxes. They are all nutty. There isn't much you can do. These are the things we would recommend: 1. If there is a spot(s) they are routinely using, put a bowl of food over the spot. Supposedly they won't pee where they eat. 2. Put litter boxes all over the place. Slowly remove boxes until you're back down to 1 or 2, once they're using them. 3. Lock cats in a room with hard flooring (bathroom, laundry room). Lock them in with a litter box. Don't let them out until they are using it every.single.time.

None of these are very great options, especially with toddlers around. Most people seemed to either put up with it, or put the cat down. Some people gave them to the shelter.

Gotta put kiddos to bed! I'll respond to others later!

Oh Jackie, that's happened to me before too. I keep my grocery list on my phone in an app and one day my phone was jacked up and wouldn't turn back on when I was shopping. I basically ended up with about half of my actual list and half of a "new" grocery list. I shop based on our menu for the week and needless to say I had to change the menu when I got back home that time LOL!

I went to the reception for a while but couldn't have an actual conversation because I couldn't keep the kids still and Noah wanted to nurse non stop (like he does every evening) and he was exhausted so he was fussy. I brought them all home around 9:30 and thought about going back up there for a while but poor Noah was just so tired I felt bad even thinking about bringing him back out so I stayed home until DH called for a ride around 11. Fun times with little children

When we go to weddings for close friends or relatives we try to find a really funny card for it. Sometimes we give cards in Spanish. This time we found this one

    Here's the front...

    Here's the inside...

It's a sympathy card I love it, and can't wait to hear what she thinks about it! We always get the funniest comments from people when they get our cards.

LOL! Yep, that's crazy for the occasion alright! That sucks that you weren't able to enjoy any of the reception. Life with kids suck at times.

Want a good laugh about the grocery list? DH told me not to worry that he'd pick up whatever I needed during the week. Right. Commissary closes at 6pm, DS and I eat at 6pm, and you're often not home till 8pm. Yeah, that's gonna work real well.

So I'm wondering about myself and this labor right now. By this point with Aiden I had my birth plan done. I made a few small changes to it when I knew I was getting induced (which they did follow for the first 12 hours I was in the hospital at least ha ha and all of the baby care that they could with their silly c/s rules). But this time? no where near done with it and it doesn't bother me one bit. I really think my subconscious wants to stay home and therefore doesn't see a need in a birth plan. My rational self on the surface knows it needs to get done before Thursday's appt so I can go over it with the first of 4 midwives (they try to have patients see a different one each appt at the end), but my desire? Zero. *sigh*

I think that seems pretty normal for a second birth Jackie. You know what you want and what to expect so much better now, that writing it up probably just feels like extra work. If you picked a good practice whose standard operating procedure is already close to what you want, though, I don't think you really need to worry about it as much as with a hospital where you'd be expecting to have to fight. I would just draw up my in case of emergency wishes and trust the MWs to already have my back with the standard stuff. (If you already know they do of course)

A lot of the things I was worried about with Aiden is standard practice here (even if I end up with a RCS it's standard for her to go with me into recovery to BF with a nurse helping). I still have some normal hospital issues like continuous monitoring (but they do have wireless!), no food or water (don't plan to show up early enough for this to be an issue honestly lol), etc but nothing harsh.
I DO need to contact that placenta encapsulator though....
