How can he run on no sleep

Ronin has decided the past two days sleep is optional. He slept 10 mins at day care today all day, then about 15 minutes around 7:45pm and won't go down for anything tonight. I know he will sleep for at least an hour tonight because we are driving up to my Mum's. Last night he woke all noght long and he had barely slept at day care as well. I know they tried everything and I have tried everything, but he just won't sleep and if he does he cats naps. He is pretty happy apart from some grizzliness from a stuffy nose and I think teething, but he is playgful, went happily to my brother who he doesn't see often and is eating well. I just have no idea what to do because I know he needs sleep but nothing is working.

Children are like that...the less sleep they have the less they want it. Eventually he'll crash and sleep for ages:)

Simon sleeps good at night but is the crappiest day time napper mostly (we had a few good days for a bit but those are gone again) AND he's not happy when he's tired. At least you got a happy tired baby. Lol

No advice, but empathy. Rowan is the same way. She just doesn't like to sleep - I think she's afraid she'll miss out on something interesting. I'm sure some day she'll figure it out, and Ronin will too.

Owen will have a week or so where he just doesn't stay asleep. Then he'll go back to having a decent couple of naps and sleeping well at night (but always waking up for boob 2-3 x). Just hang in there!

He has just fallen asleep so I put him down on my Mum's bed. I cut short my mattress hunting because he was acting tired and then he refused to sleep so we went for lunch with a friend, I gave him some solids (urgh it was the most disgusting bought baby food because I left his homemade at my place, it had no flavour, never buying that brand again) and came home, he had some milkie and fell asleep. For how long I don't know

Nope we got about 15mins sleep.

I'm sorry he won't sleep for you Wendy! At least he is happy. I think that eventually he will have to catch up on his sleep, so hopefully you will get a day where all he does is sleep. I don't have any advice, since it seems like you have tried everything. Just try to get some rest yourself while he is playing. :bigarmhug:

Babies are so bizarre. Teagan has days when she will nap all of 15 minutes, other days where she'll take three 1.5 hr naps, and still other days when she'll take one big 3 hr nap. I hope he starts to sleep better soon!

babies are very odd little critters. Charlie's nap schedule is like Michigan weather, some days are WAY better than others and it changes without warning.

It'll get better eventually Smile
