Default How is this much weight gain possible?!?!

    Hey ladies

You may remember how I'm paranoid about Simons intake and wet diapers, etc. So I weigh him alot. He has been gaining consistently despite my worries so I havent been worrying as much.

Anyways, since May 31 he's gained almost a pound!!!!!! How is that even possible?!?!?! I'm almost worried that he's gaining too much weight now!!! He doesnt really look fat, a little chubby in his legs, but he's definitely a big boy. He's wearing 12-18 months stuff well and some almost doesnt fit.

Is it weird he's this big?!? Especially considering he doesnt pee tons. He still doesnt pee tons like before, but like I said, since he gains I try not to worry. AND he still spits up tons!!

    Weird?!?

I dont think its weird at all! And you should be proud since your bfing.. You must have some good fat in your milk!

I guess what Im saying is that when I see a baby who is bigger for his/her age I always think they are healthy. They need the fat for brain development and he wont be bigger forever. Once he starts moving and walking he will thin out.

I don't think it's weird. It sounds like he is really healthy. If you feel like your instincts are telling you something isn't right, I would keep checking on that, but overall it doesn't sound to me like there is any reason to be overly worried. Of course, as mothers, we will always worry about our babies.

Anna said it well. We all worry. Some of us just share more than others. I'm thinking Simon has his own normal with eating and peeing. By this point, it really is normal for him since everything else is obviously great! I'm sure he'll slow down once he figures out walking. Aiden is still gaining fairly well, just not as well as he was.

Thanks for all the replies ladies. I am the worrier of all worriers! LOL! I just dont even get how he gains that much. This morning he was 24 lbs 15 oz!! When he was born he was in the 25th percentile, now he's off the chart completely, and by quite a bit!!!

I'd swear he's sneaking food somewhere else if I didnt know any better. LOL!

He sounds healthy to me, he may have just hit a growth spurt to put on a pound so quickly.I know the child health nurses here like to see a gain of between 90 and 120grams a week around this age. Simon just has his own normal like all of our babies
