How often are you BF now and do you have AF?

Hey ladies
I've been lurking more than anything what with being back to work and all. Just wondering how all the BFers are doing still? I still BF Simon about twice a day. Any more than that tend to be fly by snacks. He mostly sttn, but occasionally wakes up and has a little snack. Lol

And I STILL do not have AF!!!! WTF!?!?! Anyone else still not have af yet? I feel like I'm the only one. You'd think with the drastic cut back in BF session since I've been back to work would have made it come back. I'm starting to get concerned!! Isnt this weird???

I totally don't think its weird. Everyones body does different things.
We are BFing 4 times per day still. Can't even tell you how proud I am to be still nursing and nearly 20 weeks preg.!

Obviously I don't have AF anymore but I did get her back when Odin was 8.5 months and we were nursing more like 5-6 times a day then. DS1 self weaned at 6 months and she came back during that month. I'm sure there are lots of things that factor in to her return beyond just the amount of nursing going on. Hang in there, she will come back at some point.

We are still BF probably 3-5 times during the day, and anywhere from 1-3 times at night still. I'd say on average 5-6 times in a 24 hour period.
I got af back when she was 9-10 months, and BFing very frequently, including many, many times at night. Everyone is different!

We're still BFing about 3-6 times per day. The only big feeds are after work and before bed. Nighttime nursing has dwindled and is really only a quick get back to sleep nurse or two.

I thought AF was returning last week but it turned out to be a false alarm. So, no, you're not alone and its not weird. Some women don't get AF back until several months after their LO completely weans!

Some women get their cycle back while BFing a billion times a day while others don't get it back till they completely wean. You might be one of those latter people!

I got AF back in June while I was still BFing every 3-4 four hours around the clock.

I am still BFing. For a bit Aiden went down to just BFing a couple of times a day, but this past week he's BFing 4-5 times again. Every time I think that he's trying to wean, he starts nursing more! Smile

Your not alone still.. NO AF!! WOOT WOOT.. and I have cut down on bfing alot. I would say 1 time at night and then at good 2 times in the day and some flaky snack nursing.. I think my supply has dropped alot and I can tell because she has had a few dry diapers so Im mixing bf and formula right now. Once I run out of formula I will start her on whole milk.. I am actually sad that I am going to get AF back and I know its going to happen. With my ds I didnt get AF back until I completely weaned.

We are down to just one nursing before bed. I got AF one month after I stopped pumping at work, i.e. when I cut down from 4-5 sessions a day to 2 per day. It happened the exact same way as it did for my first child.

I wouldn't be concerned. I'd be super happy if I was still AF-free.

I got AF back at 6 months even though I was still bf/pumping for all dd's feeds. Wasn't thrilled with that. We are still bf in the morning, at night after her bottle to go to sleep (that one is more of a pacifier than actual eating), and sometimes she will nurse during the night, although if it seems like she is trying to nurse a lot during the night, I will eventually just give her a bottle since I don't think I am still making enough to really fill her up if she is actually hungry/thirsty. The only nurse that I feel like she really gets anything is the morning nurse.

You'd be surprised how much they can get even if they seem to just be pacifying themselves. Teagan STTN for the first time ever a few days ago and I woke up completely engorged. It took like two days to get back to feeling normal again. No wonder she's still such a chub muffin despite eating like a bird!
