    Default I need a drink!

And I am in fact enjoying one right now!

Today was day 1 of potty training my DD. I used a few vacation days and have today through next Tues off for it. And I'm exhausted! I'm not sure if we had more accidents or sucesses, but I'm definitely tired of cleaning up after her! We probably went through 12 pairs of underwear, LOL . I guess she did get a little better with it towards the end of the night, so that's good. I'm trying a method that goes pretty much cold turkey from diapers to big kid underwear, but I am cheating at night and using a pull-up for bedtime. They said w/ this method that things usually click the 2nd or 3rd day for them. OMG, I hope they are right!! Mom's w/ potty trained LOs, PLEASE tell me it gets better!

To top that all off, I have pink eye. AGAIN! I don't remember if I posted about it or not, but Lucas had pink eye when we were in Miami, which cleared up after a day of drops. But he was sooooo nice to give it to me as soon as we got back (along w/ my 2 aunts that live down there), and somehow I've managed to get it again! UGH!! At least I still have my eye drops and started them again 1st thing this morning.

Anyways, I'm going to enjoy this glass (and maybe more! ) of wine and watch as much of the new Harry Potter which I still haven't seen as I can before I probably pass out! Good night!

Sounds like you need a good glass!!

Well I am no expert on potty training but if she shows signs she is ready go for it. The key is to take them and make them sit at least every 30 minutes. After learning that feeling of having to pee, it will get easier and they will tell you or go by themselves. Also to help with this I highly suggest bribery with candy! Has worked for me like a charm. Im currently potty training my ds and its going great but it all started with a little candy. Everytime he pees in the potty, he goes me pee. Nom Please.. lol! Im happy to give it to him also because its def. a fair trade. I wouldnt worry about doing pull ups at night, since they cant really control that since there half asleep and I wouldnt want to clean up a mess in the middle of the night..

Hope you pink eye goes away... Maybe its on your makeup /contacts and you reinfected yourself.

Enjoy your beverage! My aunt/babysitter potty trained DD1 and DS is just barely moving that direction so I got nothing!

    Yay for wine!
Good luck with the potty training. I've had a lot of moms tell me that they've had success with this quick switch going for it full time method of potty training. Been told to push the water and walk them to the bathroom every 15 minutes, and after a couple of days they get it. Hopefully it'll be going well by the time your "vacation" is up! This way you give the rest of us tips down the road.

I have zero experience potty training but I've had these bookmarked for awhile. The idea is they feel that they're wet but there's no mess.

Enjoy your drink. You deserve it after a day of potty training! It will get better. Set your timer for every 15-30 minutes and push liquids big time. She will get the hang of it if she is ready. I'm joining you soon and starting 3 kids with potty training on Monday so I may need a few glasses myself!

Pink eyes is not fun. Hope it clears up asap and the kids don't get it.

Well, I've potty trained 5 so far and I seriously don't remember it being difficult but with miranda she got the peeing down really fast but the pooping was another story. Anyways, like PP have said....consistency is the #1 key. We also did the reward system....Miranda really clicked with Stickers....Good Luck!!!! I know how much work it can be.

The 3 day method was defiantly a success in our house. Day 3 and he was dry/clean all the time (until the weekend when he got ill, you've seen my post on the Doc 08 board LOL) I'm pretty sure he;ll be 100% again in a couple of days

Good luck with the potty training. Hopefully it all goes smoothly. Oh, hope you liked the Harry Potter movie. It was a pretty good one.

Yes! Wine is definitely a good reward for a day of potty training.

With DD1 we went cold turkey too. Day 1 went terribly - all accidents, no success. Day 2 was the complete opposite. - all success! And it went well from there. Although, that's not to say there weren't occasional accidents here and there.

    Good luck!
