i think you should totally go for the townhouse!!!!! at least to look. There is nothing wrong with looking even if you are not sure you want it or not. if you really want the apartment though next time you call i would let the landlord know you will be looking somewhere else. maybe he will kick buddy out, but maybe not:( that sucks he is being such a nerd.

Ashley, I think it's absolutely fine to look at the townhouse even if you're not sure you're going to take it. I'm sure everyone does this. Sorry they are messing you around with the apartment, that sucks.

Janice! Ohhhhhh! A cake! I cant wait to do a trial run of Simon's cake!! It will be my first ever attempt at fondant. You better post pictures\!

Now I am just posting for something to do. I am wondering how much to bend the truth at Ronin's 12 month appt when they ask if he is sleeping through the night. They were less than complimetary about that fact at 7 and 8 months so at 12 months it will be worse. Taking a guess on his weight if he keeps his current pattern up they shouldn't complain too much, and I am trying to find where I packed hubby's growth charts so I can take both our charts from when we were kids to show it's genetic. Hubby's is more accurate though because I was formula fed.

I consider sleeping to be parenting advice, which I don't want my pedi giving me. If I felt there was a medical issue related to it, I'd bring it up. But since I know there's nothing medically going on with DS I lie to his pedi. She's not even a parent herself.

Ronin's new trick, climbing up the slide

He managed to get all the way up once and three quarters of the way up the second time. He needs to work on some more useful skills like walking rather than party tricks like climbing slides, but he just wants to find the things to impress the girls.

WTG Ronin! Lol I haven't heard of kids this small already trying to climb slides! lol

ok, so I didn't wanna start a thread for this.. but I figured most of ya'll are busy on here anyway Smile Ya'll sure do talk alot. I wish we had internet all the time so I could talk more. My dad's internet sucks and is usually out so I almost always post from my cell phone which is a pain in my butt.

We are going to look at a townhome across the street from our apartment complex. The apartment mangers are STILL screwing us around. I am not sure if I told ya'll about how they told me it would be another two weeks, but then he would be out. Well they called me last week and it is gonna be another week!!! UGH! I can deal with another week, but I do not wanna keep doing this until next year, ykwim? so come the end of the week, we are gonna call, if he is moving GREAT but if not we are gonna start to look elsewhere.
I just can not believe they are not making him leave, he gave his 30 days notice months ago. but I am super excited to look at this town house. Is it rude of us to go look without the 100% of intentions to rent there? I mean, I would have to look at it anyway and think about it and we will be getting back with them within the week.
Same price for rent but tons more room plus an extra half bath. I might need to go look and see what school trevor will go to....but we will have to pay bills here, which isn't a big deal but still alot more expensive than the apartment. I still would rather live at the apartment but I do not wanna wait 3 more months..
ok this is long, sorry. lol

It is not rude in the least bit to look at a place that you don't have full intentions of renting. People do it all the time! Heck, we did it for a few months before we moved houses while living in Vegas. We were curious and wanted to see if we could find better for our money compared to where we were currently living.

I didn't want to attempt fondant (not that you can buy it here). I can't make icing smooth, so that's why I swirled it. And used M&Ms. I actually got the M&M idea off of a number cake!

I made my cake attempt from scratch, but used store bought frosting. Lol My Vegas friend is trying to get me to try another cake and frosting recipe. I probably will try it but not do the whole owl thing. lol

well i saw someone on here say you can make marshmallow fondant (sorry, i can't remember who! Joy maybe?) but i don't have any of the ingredients to make it. i like that number cake!! ...ummm so it turned out kinda bad LOL. it started out good, but when i put icing on the sides where it had been cut, all the crumbs were getting stuck in it and it started ripping!! I'm also bad at making icing circles:rolleyes: the only thing i was happy with was the colour lol. SO glad i did this trial, i also used two cakes because i thought it would be a small, shallow cake. now it's too tall! i think i might use chocolate instead too.

Yay for trial cakes! Lol

The trick for the sides where you cut is to do a thin layer of icing carefully to basically coat the crumbs. Then go back with gobs of icing to just cover it. I still had a few issues, but nothing too bad. Do need to practice that more myself. Maybe there's a better "trick" for that. lol

Hello chatty girls! There is no way I'm going to be able to read up on everything from the weekend. Any highlights or important stuff I missed out on?

We had a great weekend and I'm exhausted. We put the kids' names on the raffle tickets and Grady won us a swing. We're heading there to pick it up here in a few minutes. It's a really neat swing. It was one of the top prizes. Wish we would've won the $17k prize but this is nice too Smile here, you gotta check it out. http://www.sunsetswings.com/ I'm not for sure which one it is, but I think it's the one in the middle of that page when you click on Our Swings.

Hopefully the babies wake up soon and we can go pick it up.

And for the record, running a stand is HARD work! The picnic was 5-11 Saturday and noon-11 yesterday. We were there almost the entire time and didn't get home last night til 11:30ish. My feet, legs and hips are killing me!

Wendy- (not that you're awake right now) tell your pedi to buzz off or just straight up lie. So long as he's getting enough sleep, he's more than fine. STTN is a privilege some parents enjoy and by no means a measure of your child's health.

Lauren- I'm glad your DH did something but I still think he deserves a kick in the nards!

Ashley- go look at 10 more apartments if that's what you want to do! People do it all the time. In fact, I think you'd be silly not to go look around.

Janice- I want a pic of your trial cake! Messy or not.

Jackie- For shame, Mrs. SeaMonster using store bought frosting. For shame! Wink

Christa- Awesome swing!!

Phew, that was a lot. So, on top of DH being glued to his computer, he's now aggravated his back so he can't do anything around the house. He can't even bend over to keep Teagan occupied much less pick her up. I'm going batty. I know its not his fault his back is irritated but he knows it gets like that if he just sits around on his computer for days on end. I seriously feel like a single working parent sometimes. I'm going to demand that he make dinner at least twice per week starting next week. I'm not going to play the role of sole homemaker once classes start!

Its a heck of a lot nicer than what I would've produced! If circles are hard, could you maybe do oreo cookie halves instead? Maybe some with the cream filling side up and some down?

I usually makes my cakes without frosting because I don't like 95% of them out there. lol.

When DH and I both worked full time, he definitely helped around the house more. He didn't cook cause he sucks at it, but he washed dishes and vacuumed and such. If we both worked right now, we're probably be living in a pig sty. lol

That's a great first attempt! It clearly looks like a number 1! I was really worried my owl didn't look like an owl. Before the M&Ms were on my owl, I sent the picture to a friend who asked what it was supposed to be. Lol

Okay, well, we got the "swing". It's not what I thought it was. I guess the people that are dealers or own the company are or used to be parishioners of our church. They used to always donate the one I linked to but this year they donated a new product. It's half the price of the other one so they donated 2 instead of just the 1. It's just like this one in the link but it's a 2 person. DD1 and I are chilling in it right now. It's a really cool design. http://www.rmfitness.com/StoreBox/leisure/bein400.htm

Erin, i was thinking oreo cookies! either that or cutting out fondant circles but the cookie idea sounds better:)

Christa, it's harder then i thought it would be. Jeez, Cake boss makes it look so easy;)

the number one part turned out good and i didn't even need a tray! Thanks Wendy for the stencil

Oh, and Erin my DH never cooks unless it is the bbq. He can take something from frozen in a box and throw it in the oven, but that is about it. He sweeps and will tidy up, sometimes vacuum but that is all cleaning wise. It sucks having to do everything, I hope you get some more help.

did you guys hear on the news about that creepy guy who tried to lure the 13 year old into his car? The kids mom walked over to him and creepo told her he wanted to marry the 'red head' and that mom was like "that's my daughter, she's 13" and he wanted her to sign a letter saying they could get married and she punched him.

And why is everyone so shocked that I bought frosting?! Lol I made the cake from scratch....just not the icing part. lol

Aiden took an hour nap and that's it. I was really hoping he'd sleep a lot longer. Instead he woke up as soon as I went to mop. Do you know how hard it is to steam mop with a child who LOVES things like that?! I should have put him on my back. lol.

it's a chair. it has a little foot rest thing down at the bottom. You put your feet on it and you can rock yourself while you're laying back in it. It's really different and pretty cool. The bad thing though is we won't be able to keep it. Our house gets hit hard when there's wind producing storms. You guys saw the pics from this spring. It flips our HEAVY wooden swing all the time and our trampoline ended up in the hay field at the bottom of the hill. We can't keep things like this safe so I'm not sure what we're going to do with it now. It would've been better to have the $500 that it cost Smile I'm grateful we won, but this is pretty useless for us, darn it!

went to the Dollar Tree this morning on our way to walmart. DD1 was with so I was able to leave the kiddos in the car. They had 3 pg tests Biggrin I now own them, but that's all they had! Got home and DD1 unloaded the van. She saw the tests and I quote "Another one!?"

She recanted cause she actually does want another sibling, I think it just caught her off guard. I didn't want her to know we were trying which is why i put that bag in the back of the van. I didn't think she'd go back there and get that one out. Oh well.

We're shocked because you make your own everything else. I can't imagine how hard it is to steam mop with a munchkin on the loose! This is why my house doesn't get mopped very frequently.

My DH can cook. He's just not creative so I've been the one who does most of the cooking so that we eat a diet consisting of more than just bean burritos. I figure if I still plan out meals he can just pick two from the list he knows how to make. Its his job to do the dishes and he just lets them sit there for DAYS. It drives me nuts. He says we're installing a dishwasher. Can't wait for that. For some reason it takes him like three times as long to do any cleaning. Nothing is any cleaner it just takes him longer. I can have the entire house cleaned in about 2 hours if Teagan isn't bugging me (benefit of having a tiny house). That includes doing all the laundry. It would take him ALL DAY.

that is impressive!!! i don't even know the last time i cleaned my house in a day definitely before Lucas was born. i usually do a room or two a day, sometimes more than once a day. i take a bunch of breaks though unless i am on a roll lol. our house isn't huge, it's a semi but it is two storeys.

I can easily clean this house (well, all but the guest bedroom) in a day. Not very big of a house. The guest bedroom is more of DH's room of crap, so I don't touch it. But I'm going to have to brave that room soon and make things nice in there again. Without making DH suspicious. No idea how I'm going to do that, but it needs to be guest usable in a month since our friends will be staying with us!

When I clean, I have a system and I pretty much just go on a rampage. First, I pick up, then I dust, then I vacuum, then I mop. I work from the back of the house to the front. I look like a mad woman but I get the job done. Teagan tries to thwart my efforts by placing toys in my way. I simply leap over them and continue my rampage.

When DH cleans, he does it like this. Fill the sink, go check email for 30 minutes, wash a few dishes, mess with the dogs for 20 minutes, vacuum half the kitchen, scrub the toilet, wash a few dishes, make some coffee .... etc. See why it takes so long? It sometimes take the man several days to wash dishes.

Janice thats a cool cake. I like it!

Dh totally ruined my day. He called to tell me he was working late so I had to cancel my appointment with the townhome people. Of course he thinks it is no big deal but I am so dissapointed. i feel like i've been doing nothing but dealing with kids for 8 days since he decided he had to use the whole weekend to work on a car. He has overtime on saturday too. Freaking sucks. My parents also were so loud they ruined chloe's nap, twice. So no nap, which means an even grumpier mom and baby. Darn dh ruined my day.

that sucks Ashley. I don't think a lot of our DH's realize that even something as simple as looking at a townhouse is a really nice break from what we do all day every day and is exciting. On the bright side he is bringing in more money. yay money!

Ashley- I totally get that! Sorry.

Erin- you're DH and I would not be a good match Smile We'd have to hire a housekeeper cause I clean house a lot like him. Only I wouldn't be checking e-mail, I'd be checking in here. My DH cleans like you, fast and furious.

so, I've been doing OPK's for the last 5ish days. I had a surge on Friday night. I was still doing them cause I'm an addict though. My OPK's ALWAYS do a fade in/fade out thing, always! They were fading back out after the surge, but guess what they're doing now, getting darker. What the heck does that mean?! I've never had anything like this happen. And for the record, no EWCM this month so far, which I always have.

My husband does as little work as possible. So I have to tell him how to vacuum and every little detail b/c if I tell him to vacuum the bedroom, he'll do one swipe on each side of the bed and call it good.

I'd say you might not have actually Od since you haven't had EWCM. So keep on BDing! Biggrin

I'm thinking this whole "NTNP" TTC thing we're doing here isn't going to work out so great w/ DH wanting to stay in the dark. Took me 2 hours to get him to have sex. The man kept choosing to do laundry. I know that he needed to get his uniforms for today washed, but really man?!

:bigarmhug: Ashley!
