Eek Kristi! Sorry to hear you've all been sick.Hope you're feeling better soon!
ThanksWhat I am really sick of though is grad school. I think I am about at the end of my patience with it. I know I'm getting close to being done, but it's honestly no comfort because I think I'm coming up on the hardest part of it all. I am so tempted to just hand my advisor my field work results and say forget it. If I had some sort of prospect for another source of income I'd do it. And if I could rewind my life back to when I made this idiotic decision, I never would have started this program. It was not what I needed at this point in my life.
10th percentile? He's huge. Rowan is down in the 2nd percentile for weight. I swear we feed her, she just has really light bones.
It's really common for someone in an abusive relationship to cut off all contact with their friends. Their abuser does it to them, because if they don't have friends, they have nowhere to go if they try to leave and they have no support. It's actually one of the big warning signs of an abusive relationship. It's good that your friend is getting out of it now and that she can still reach out to you. I've seen a lot of abused women try to contact old friends and get rebuffed, which makes it harder for them to stay away from the abuser, because then they feel like they really don't have anybody else (and it makes the common line "nobody will ever love you but me" ring true).
I know I haven't been around much, so I must have missed this. I'm intrigued. Do you have a link to post to your owls?
I had my hearing this morning, and the judge basically ordered us to settle, so I didn't get to do much besides argue with the other attorney. At the end of it all, my client was happy and we got most of what we wanted, so that's good.
I've already gotten the biopsy report back, and it is a basal cell carcinoma. I have a consult with the surgeon next week. Usually they don't do a consultation, they just bring you in and cut it off, but it's really close to my eye, so the doctor needs to determine if an eye specialist should be involved as well. Not fun for me.
When we got back from trick or treating the other night Rowan started throwing up everywhere. Dh took her to the doctor yesterday, and it turns out to just be a cold with lots of mucus and she's started coughing so hard she pukes. It was cute though - she told me about the doctor. "Rowan went to doctor with papa. The doctor came in." And when I asked what she did she said "crying. Scared." because, yes, she cried the entire time. I'm just glad it was dh dealing with it (since i was really busy in my office preparing for this case that ended up settling anyway).
I should be working on school work and/or washing diapers, but I feel like talking baby names.
Here's our list right now:
Leah (me - yes, DH - maybe)
Lily (Me - yes, DH - no)
Lorelei (Me- - maybe, DH - probably no)
Alexis (both of us maybe)
Morgan (me- maybe, DH - probably yes)
Rowan (me - maybe, DH - yes)
Middle name is still Suzanne. Which of those names fits best with Claire and Alaina (Lainey)?
DH is pushing for Rowan. I can't believe he actually has a name he likes, which kind of makes me inclined to just go along with him. Usually he dislikes most names, and eventually the name I like best grows on him. However, I am not sure Rowan fits with the other 2 girls' names.
Sara, it's funny that you just posted, because I just posted about names - and one of the names we're considering is Rowan! Is it very common in your area? DH likes it because we don't know any Rowan's. Actually, your Rowan is the first time I've ever heard it at all!
Oh, it's not actually owls, it is a new direct sales business with custom lockets that you add charms to. Origami Owl
Sorry about your basal cell carcinoma. I hope they decide it is simple to remove and you can get it taken off quickly and easily!
Poor Rowan! I hope she's feeling better soon! It's scary for littles to go to the dr. My 5 year old hates it.
((hugs)) Sara!
I think the L names fit really well with your DDs' names. Though I do like Morgan Suzanne!
I never met a Rowan until after we had her. Since then, I've met three, all boys, and all younger than my Rowan. And I've heard of a teenage girl named Rowan who babysits for one of my daughter's classmates.
But still, it's not that common, and I think it's a great name.
I personally agree. I am still pushing hard for Leah. I think we're going to keep a list of about 5-6 names, then pick one when the baby is born. It's funny, with Claire we just knew that was the name. She was Claire from the time we found out the gender. With Lainey, we picked the name 3 days before she was born. This time, I think we're not going to know for sure until baby gets here.
