Let's nix that whole better uncomfortable I had yesterday. I feel like she somehow managed to drop more overnight. Ha. I look a lot smaller, at least to myself I do. Walking is a major chore today. We drove up to my hospital so DH could finally see it and where I need to go (it's a big place). DH didn't want me to walk period, but I reminded him that walking is good for me. It's not like I'm going to press myself more than I know I can handle. After two stores I told him that was enough. Headed back home now.
All I've got to say is that if I make it to my appt Wednesday, I will be grumpy. Not because I'm done, but because I don't think I can get the stroller in and out of the car, let alone get Aiden in and out of his car seat! Lol.
Anna, that's great!!! Perfectly livable with some goals for down the road is awesome...you still get to MOVE!!! YAY!!!
Uh, yeah. Last night, I was watering the garden and I heard a lot of shouting that sounded maybe a block away. Then six or seven rapid gunshots. As I'm standing there wondering whether I should call the police with so little information, Addy (eating in her highchair in the doorway) says "What's that sound? What's that sound??" and I realize there are MULTIPLE police sirens and a police helicopter clearly converging on the area.
It was so awesome.
About 6 months after we bought our first house, we went out of the state for a week to visit a friend of ours. When we got back, my dad said, "Your neighborhood was on the news!" He taped the stories for us to watch. About 4 houses down from us, a couple was having some sort of party. They apparently had some people there they didn't know. The guy that lived there went into the kitchen and found his wife (or girlfriend?) making out with one of the strangers. So he did what any jealous lover would do, he went out into the garage, got an axe and sunk it into the guy's head. Axe guy stumbled outside and collapsed on the sidewalk. (He survived, but apparently had brain damage - duh). Axe-wielder went to jail.
So this had all been about 3ish days before we got home, so we walked down to the house and yep, you could see drops of blood all over the sidewalk.
That was really the most 'excitement' our neighborhood had. It wasn't a nice neighborhood, but I never felt unsafe there, either.
Now we live out in the country, and probably feel more secure than we should. We're careful to always keep our windows and doors locked, and we have an early alert system (ie: dog) but I wish we had a security system sometimes.
I don't recommend being sick and pregnant. Ugh. First I had some sort of stomach/intestinal virus. Then, before I was even 100% over that I came down with the cold.from.hell (which is probably actually bronchitis and possibly a sinus infection, too). I don't know what to do about going to the dr. I assume I will spend a $30 copay to be told I have a virus, and that I'm pregnant and there's nothing they can really give me anyway. The only advantage I can see is that I could probably get an inhaler to help me breathe. My chest hurts every time I cough and just breathe, and I constantly have the sensation that I cannot get a full breath. Ugh, ugh, ugh. Whine over.
Oh, and we're probably finally putting our dog down this week, too. He's had inflammatory bowel disease for 2ish years, which is every bit even nastier than it sounds. We've treated him for 2 years, and he has periods of time where he does better and then he gets worse. Right now he looks like a bag of bones (the disease also causes him to not absorb the nutrients from his food) and he's getting aggressive with the kids. He has nipped both of them (unprovoked) over the past couple of days, and while he didn't break the skin, he did leave a raised up welt on DD1's hand. I think it's time. I don't want to wait until one of the kids is bleeding before we make the decision.
Urgh, we have a full solar eclipse this week and it's overcast and raining. Hopefully it clears before the eclipse so I can see some of it. We aren't in the best spot, we are about the furterest south it will be seen, but should still get a good view
Lots of big things happening this weekend around here.
Congrats Janis on the 2 lines. Can't wait to follow your pregnancy. Jackie, sounds like Zoe has made some major progress this weekend. How exciting. and where is the updated belly pic? We want to see the drop too!!!!
Anna congrats on the loan approval. I've been praying for you & the whole family to get this. You need this so badly and I'm so glad things are going your way.
Wendy, sounds like Ronin is a pretty good helper for you.
Went shopping all day yesterday. Did get about 5-6 presents out of the way for cheap. DH survived the day with Madison all day. She was pretty excited to see me when I got home. Today after church we got our camper closed up for the winter and a few other chores done outside. It was a beautiful day here and will be cold again tomorrow.
Hmm I wonder if my friends will want to brave the cinema this weekend for Breaking Dawn, Hubby has the whole weekend off and if we only stay at the birthday party Ronin was invited to for an hour and head straight up we can be in the town with the cinema by 6:30ish. I can then drop hubby and Ronin at my Mum's and catch up with my friends for a movie then on Sunday go shopping. I need fabric and Ronin's swing set, and also start pricing our kitchen.
