Yeah, I had a fb friend keep posting that her OB was telling her that she wouldn't make it to her due date because she was already dilated. Your cervix is not exactly a magic 8 ball.

I was dilated to 2 cm at 38 weeks and I was dilated to 2 cm 16 hours after my water broke. I wouldn't recommend anyone get hung up on dilation. And I think some OB's tell women that they won't make it much longer so that when they do they can push for induction more effectively because the woman was expecting to already be done. JMO though.

Considering my friend expressed early in pregnancy that it would mess up their December plans to have a baby go "overdue" (past 40 weeks), it wouldn't surprise me if she ends up being induced next week if the baby hasn't come yet.
