Here is where the conversation was going in #29.

Hubby will be home soon I bet he asks what I did all day, because I started tidying up. He can talk, I left Ronin with him again this morning and again he was still in bed, Ronin was watching Thomas, breakfast all over the floor and he had put a toy truck in the toilet. In hubby's defence he had taken Ronin to the toilet and Ronin had put the truck in while hubby was there with him.

I'm here wishing I could drink with you for your birthday. Tomorrow will be hard, I like a nice ice cold refreshing wine or cider after mowing the yard in summer and can't tomorrow Sad

My laptop is dying. I need to go put the sheets back on the bed. Kole puked on them so I had to wash them. And I need to get Lyla's sheet out of the dryer, she puked on them so they had to be washed. I did a lot of laundry today.

I know you are sick of hearing about it, but I cried earlier when I realized this is the first birthday I will have where my dad doesn't wish me a happy birthday. He used to always call me on my birthday, not this year.

DH is cooking a roast tomorrow as a birthday gift. His family is coming over to celebrate my birthday. Glad he warned me so I know to lean the house in the morning.

Did I tell you that I drank about a whole bottle of wine by myself. DH is snoring on the couch right now. It's nearly midnight and I need to go to sleep. My little alarm clocks get up around 7am usually. Maybe they'll take pitty on me and sleep in so I can sleep in.

Anna it's ok to feel sad about that, all the firsts are hard, all the second, third and fourths etc are hard to but the firsts are harder.

Ronin is on his third piece of watermelon, I may have to buy more, thank goodness it's on sale for 98 cents a kg. Would it look wrong buying two whole ones, one for hubby and one for Ronin, it might last two days that way

I saw a thing once where they cut a hole in a watermelon and filled with something like vodka or other hard liquor and let it sit for a while so that it was alcohol infused watermelon!! I want one!! And I like rum, if anyone is thinking of making me one.

I love it, but I never get to eat any between hubby and Ronin. Hubby has already asked if he can eat the bit thats left in the fridge. Grapes are coming down in price now here, stil around $6-7 a kg but in the next month or so they will be down to $3-4 a kg so I buy a kg a week at that time because Ronin loves them. So does hubby

Maybe with bacardi (white rum). I'm not a rum fan, I find the main rum sold here (Bundaberg or Bundy as it's commonly known rum) to be gross. But for rum lovers I would try it.

Oh my, Ronin went to sleep early tonight about ^:$% after asking for boobie he was out in less than fifteen minutes. He woke up again which I had expected because he always does when he goes to bed early but also the neighbours have their grandkids over and they are noisy. He asked for more boobie, then asked for water, then lay down on my bed with his monkey and after a bit of rolling about and play rolled over and put himself to sleep. He didn't even stir when I put him back in his own bed. There is hope for this child actually sleeping on his own one day with out boobie. He still needds me close to go to sleep but we can work on that as time goes on

just got back from the wedding ceremony, Lucas was the best kid ever!!!! He just sat on DH's lap the whole time and didn't make a single sound. It was probably helpful that he was up at 6am this morning and was exhausted. we thought he was going to fall asleep. he is napping now, hopefully he will last tonight.

I read everything but now of course I've forgotten half of what I wanted to respond to....oh, well. Anna, Happy Birthday! I love the wine!!!

Ladies Night was super fun. You guys were totally there in spirit! I left "early" at 1:00 (dude...I get no sleep, I can't last that long!) and I wanted to be able to drive home so I was pretty much drinking water after we had dinner at 9:30. However, I still managed to wake up with a ridiculous headache. We were supposed to go pumpkin picking today but I never heard from Erin...pretty sure she must be paying for her fun today Blum 3

Here's a pic from a super lame club we stopped at. I think E & S might have gone back there after they dropped me off at my car, but I'm not sure. I got a text from 2:40am that they'd gotten home safely, at least!

DH has Addy outside with him now planting the winter garden. Their conversation is pretty freaking cute.

I should go get some dishes or something done, though. I've been pretty useless all day until I just took a nap while Addy did. MUCH better.

Oh: vodka watermelon is awesome! My friend calls it "vatermelon" Lol I bet it would be good with white rum.

Well I'm productive today, not even 9am and one load of washing is done and hung out, just waiting for hubby to have his shower before putting the next on, and the yard is mowed. Also had croissants with ham and jarlsberg cheese made for breakfast. Next step is to rip out our old garden and put it in again, so we will need a trip into town for soil and seeds and then transplant the seedlings I have down there.

I bet it would. I'd like to do a vodka watermelon with a flavored vodka like raspberry or something. Biggrin

Happy Belated Birthday Anna!!!!

Looks like a fun night Leigh, Erin and Sara!

Had a birthday party today - so much fun! The kids had a blast other than the fact that they had a Spiderman guy show up. Ethan FREAKED OUT! He got over it, but was terrified at first! He also almost ate a brownie with nuts in it. OMFG I hate food at parties for that reason! (he's highly allergic and could die from tree nuts and peanuts). Livy really enjoyed the cake - it was yummy!

Now DH is out grabbing some chinese food for us. The kids had cereal for dinner! LOL! oh well, they were practically falling asleep in the bowl! They were asleep in their bed within 10 minutes. It usually takes them an hour to an hour and a half to fall asleep so 10 minutes is a miracle!!!!

Yay, sounds like a fun time! Yikes about the peanuts...that has to be such a scary allergy to deal with. At least the worst thing that will happen if Addy eats something she shouldn't is sore privates or a gassy bellyache.

I haven't cooked all and barely cleaned anything. DH made a roast for lunch, his parents and sister came over for lunch, there was cake and now DH has made Sheppard's Pie for dinner. It's awesomeness! I did sweep the floor and put away my sewing gear this morning and now I've washed some diapers. It's been a super lazy day for me overall. So why do I feel so tired?

Looks like the night out was a blast, Leigh! Wonder if Erin will ever come back to give us her take. Sara? You around? We'd like a few details other than Leigh ran out of stamina and left 'early'. Though I'm not sure I could stay out and awake till 1am either.

How scary about the nuts! Glad you caught it. Is he okay to be around them? I know nut allergies can be so severe that just the dust in the air can cause a severe reaction.

Okay, off to eat some sheppard's pie and drink some merlot.

Well, the place we wanted to go for dinner was packed until 9:00, so Erin put in her name and we bar-hopped first (I blame at least 75% of my hangover on this fact). We had one drink each at two different bars, and then another in the bar of the restaurant until our table was ready. Notes: Sara got hit on at the first place while Erin was in the bathroom and I was getting a drink, starting the night off right! 2nd bar was outdoor and pretty, and we got high fives from some people at a retirement party Lol At the restaurant, we had some overpriced food and each used the mens' bathroom at different times. Whee! Then Erin wanted some dancing, so we asked a waiter where to go and he sent us to CLUB LAME (see pic) where there was NOBODY and the drinks sucked. We ended up abandoning them and walking down to 4th Avenue (the street of fun shops and bars) and going to a place called The Hut which has a giant tiki head entrance and two bandstands. Erin had some tropical rum drink that the bartender promised did not contain rufees, but I'm not so sure Wink (It was total get-college-girls-drunk-punch) We caught the end of one band and the beginning of another (pretty terrible) cover band, and danced to both. The singer called out our sexy dancing, Lol since we were the only ones up there! Then the girls walked me to my car and I don't know what they did after that--Erin just surfaced on FB, though. I will bug her to come weigh in on her side of the story for you!

We went back to the first bar and had another drink. We did not go back to the club and dance. And then there was a convenient cab sitting right outside the bar, so we jumped in and left.

It was fun, and lucky for me, no hangover - I attribute that to sticking to rum all night and not mixing it up with other liquors. I actually felt pretty good this morning, but now I'm coming down with a cold. I'm getting tired of Rowan bringing home diseases from daycare.

I LOVE the name of the new thread!!! It probably not going to happen this month though. Sad

Alright alright, I'll fill in the details .. of what I remember. Leigh summed up the night pretty well. I was a little surprised how dead the area was for a Friday night. One of the bartenders said its Parent's Weekend, whatever that means. Perhaps all the youngins were behaving themselves. The first two bars we went to were great. I can't believe I missed Sara getting hit on! The second bar was really cool with an outdoor lounge area and FIRE. I definitely plan to go back there with the hubs. The night gets a little fuzzy for me right before dinner. After 'pre-gaming' at the two bars we were hanging out in the bar of the restaurant, giving some guy advice on how to make liquor infusions. The take away message from that one was "avoid spruce". Despite the long wait, dinner was lame. I don't know what I was thinking getting cheese fries and wine. I believe it was inspired by talk of poutine. CLUB LAME was super lame. The acoustics sucked, the drinks sucked, and there were like 4 or 5 creeper looking dudes in the whole place. Yeah, we high tailed it outta there. After that it was on to the Hut where I sipped punch that induced flash backs to my visits to frat houses. I vaguely remember dancing like hoochies, a bad cover band, and sand. Leigh then punked out on us Smile and drove home after I asked her about a dozen times if she was OK to do so while explaining that I was in NO condition to determine her sobriety level. Every one looks wasted when you're wasted. After that I think Sara and I decided to go back to the first bar we went to. You know, gotta come full circle. I think we pretty much just sat on a couch and I tried for a long time to get my camera to work to get a pic. Then we hopped in a cab that was fortuitously waiting outside and headed home. On the way the cab driver told us there had been a shooting or something not far from where we'd been. yay. After dropping Sara off the cab took me home. My neighborhood was filled with cops and my husband was standing outside. Quite the sight to come home to. I guess the neighbor had gotten into it with some guy and the guy smashed his car windows up and then went tearing around the street hitting recycling bins with his car. joy.

Teagan crawled into our bed around 7. DH shuffled her off to watch Super Why. I managed to sleep till 9 then attempted to sit on the couch with Teagan. After about 30 minutes I went back to bed. I've been battling a wicked hangover all day. DH has been great about keeping Teagan outta my hair. I just ate breakfast (cheddar bunnies) and it stayed down.

Totally jealous! Sounds like a blast. I haven't done anything like that since I was in my early 20's. In fact, my BFF and I were just reminiscing about the major bar party we had when she turned 21 and I turned 22 (her birthday is 2 days before mine and she's a year younger). That's all I get anymore, reminiscing. I did get hit on when I was 4 months pg with Lyla at the auto place while I was waiting to get my oil changed. He was probably older than my dad though and I'm not sure it counted.

Sheppard's Pie was AWESOME!! I'm so glad I married a man who can and does cook! And the merlot went great with it! I'll be having Jackie's glass just as soon as the kids hit the sack.

Ohh we might be buying a new oven, cooktop and rangehood. We found a great package deal all three for $1500 and they are Ariston brand. It would mean changing from a gas cooktop to electric though, but could give us more options on where the put it other than the current dodgy corner, though with the rangehood maybe not.

Kristi, Yes. painted walls are absolutely important to babies. Your baby would be very disappointed to come home and have builders grade paint on the walls. I actually enjoy painting and am excited to get into a new house so I can paint it.

Wendy, that's great news! I would be willing to seriously maim someone for a commercial grade cooktop, you know, the kind with the 6 burners. I hope you get it and post pics when you get it all put in.

I'm now drinking a glass of merlot for Jackie.
