Knowing body parts

Does anyone else's LO's know any body parts yet?

Just last week Tobey started pointing to his nose from copying something he has seen on a TV show aimed at 7-12 year old children with learning difficulties (the guy is a genius, he teaches baby signing and little kids LOVE him. DS1 learned so much signing from him...anyway...)

And here is a video Smile

That's great!
Aiden will only point to body parts while I'm reading this silly book called All of Baby. If I ask him any other time he just laughs at me.

Simon knows MY body parts. LOL! He'll point to his belly button and tongue, but havent got him to point to anything else yet. He'll point or rather stab me in the eyes, nose, mouth, belly, when prompted. LOL!!

no, i have kinda been slacking with this. Occasionally i will go through all the body parts and point to his and then point to mine while saying them. But I'm not doing it enough for him to pick up on it. I keep meaning to though.

Cute video!

Rowan can identify her nose, eyes, ears, cheeks, head, hair, mouth, hand, fingers, toes, and belly button. However, she refuses to perform this trick for anyone besides Dh and I. When we try to show her grandparents, she will only point to her nose or grab our noses, or jab her finger in our eyes. She will, however, respond to similar sounding expressions such as "she knows" or "go ahead" by pointing to her nose or head.

Ronin has never shown that he knows any body parts, though he is good at covering his eyes for peek a boo. I guess I should probably work on it more with him because it sounds like he should know something by now.

Lainey can point to her nose or your nose when asked, but it's always dangerous because you risk getting a finger up the nose or in the eye! She will also sometimes point to her belly when asked, but prefers the nose. We haven't been working with her on body parts much, but I suppose we should start! I think DD1 knew a lot more at this age. Poor 2nd children!

I don't think DS1 knew any body parts until he was closer to 18 months when he just suddenly knew everything when asked. It's something they pick up on without you knowing Smile

So fun! Teagan knows her nose, eyes, ears, mouth, feet, head, hands and belly button. She'll also go around the room and point to the body parts of people in the room. Its been fun seeing how long it takes her to learn someone's name by asking her to show me "Aunt Becky's" nose. Smile
