There has been some slight discussion about VBAC's recently and I want to put this out there to have a place where you guys can reference information. There has been a ton of new research lately that I may or may not be able to link to because of restrictions by the OB/Gyn Journals on getting it free since it's so new. Where I can, I will provide the research article or the abstract where I can't get the article.
Informed decision making is the most important thing, no matter your decision, make it with up to date information and an acceptance of your risks.
Position Statement: Elective Cesarean Sections Riskier than Vaginal Birth on ICAN's main website
Here is a fantastic website. Kmom has done tons of research on VBAC's an c/s's. She is an invaluable resource to a lot of women. She has taken the time to dig through all the research and has laid out the information to help you make a decision. I depended heavily on this site when I was pg with Clara. She had the same info there that my dr found!
Also, like I told Jackie, add the books I recommended to your reading list. "Ina May's Guide to Childbirth" by Ina May Gaskin. "Pushed" by Jennifer Block. "The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth" by Henci Goer.
I'm going to update the website list when I can. I have more websites, but they are saved on our old laptop and it's not cooperating this morning. I'll have DH look at it tonight and work his magic to get it up and running
Here's a blog with some interesting article links
