Default MacBook peeps, help me out!

Okay, so DH and I were wanting to get macbooks. I guess I don't need one, really, but I want one. He will need one. Or need a computer anyway.

We went around looking at some today and HOLY GUACAMOLE they are expensive! We could buy 2 PC's for the price of one MacBook!! With the same RAM and Hard Drive memory!!

    What'cha got?

I have an older MacBook. I don't know what's in it. That's DH's job. DH is a computer dude. He has an HP laptop because he wanted to run Ubuntu (Linux) and that's harder to do on a Mac. He's not pleased with his HP. MacBooks are more expensive, yes, but they are MUCH better made. You can buy a Mac and not have to think about computer problems for several years. Buy a PC and you're going to have to put money into it sooner and you're going to have to buy a new computer sooner. Oh, and paying for AppleCare is worth it. They replace anything and everything. Its worth it just to take your Mac in right before the warranty runs out. They'll replace $600 worth of stuff that doesn't even need to be replaced yet. They thrive on dedicated customers so they want to keep them happy.

Buy one MacBook and then once money is better, buy a 2nd.

DH uses an older MacBook (like 3-4 years old). I have a brand new MacBook pro that I bought less than 6 months ago. We didn't need 2 laptops, but it's very helpful for us to video chat with when we're separated (we use iChat and it works great). We did that a few times while I was back home. We've never done AppleCare, but we've also never had a problem. We just get set in our ways and keep the laptops in our laps or in the same safe place at all times.
Most bad guys out there don't write viruses that can affect Macs, so that's really nice. I don't bother with any antivirus protection.
The thing about them is they just don't die. Or at least shouldn't if treated properly. The one DH uses still works perfectly and doesn't seem 'old' in the least bit! Still fast.
Oh, and they're simple machines. If you ever get stuck or confused when using one it's because you're making it too dang complicated! Seriously! lol.

ETA: Here's an idea get 1 MacBook and 1 iPad!
