Mother's Day

It's Mother's day here next weekend, and I think it's the same for most places. So any plans for Mother's day. My Mum is coming down and we are going out for lunch, possibly with my Nanna as well depending on how she is (she has surgery next week and also struggles with being in different places due to her alzeheimers). I'm sure Ronin will be making something for Mother's day at day care and on the 9th the day care runs a morning tea for mother's day so I will be asking for the morning off work.

Phil & Ethan (I'm sure Charlie will help this year) usually make me breakfast in bed and then I have a day of shopping planned. It's Sunday- and that's coupon day here in MI! LOL

I'm not sure what we are doing but I know Mother's Day usually involves me sleeping in and then breakfast in bed made by not me!

I can only wish hubby would make breakfast in bed, I'd settle for a coffee in bed, but that would require me going back to bed after I get up and hubby giving up his half hour shower in the morning. We are going to the resturant where hubby works for our lunch so I told him he better tell them to put some good desserts on the buffet. A few hints on my favourite foods would be nice too Smile

I'm not sure if we are going to do much for Mother's Day or not... Sometimes DF is rather forgetful, so he might not even realize it's so soon... That and I guess I've had like 3years of Mother's Days... Tho this will be my 2nd w DF and the first w Sophie... Guess we'll see what he has up his sleeve Blum 3

We go camping every year for Mother's Day weekend with DH's whole family. There's a lot of us! DH has 9 siblings and I believe when Clara was born, she was the 24th grandkid. The kids play all weekend and the older ones look after the younger ones. We sit around, have a few drinks, play cards, talk and talk and talk some more. It's so much fun. My mom and stepdad go down to the horse camp every year. I never see her on Mother's Day, but I always send some sappy card with my step dad to give to her on Sunday morning and I call her, we never have been together on Mother's Day. She says, since it's her day she wants to go riding and I just never have gone down there, cause I know she'll end up working harder with my kids in tow, so I leave her to a peaceful weekend alone with her husband.

Two years ago for Mother's Day, my BFF, her sister, another friend and I took off for 4 days and laid on the beach in Florida. Now, that was a Mother's Day to remember....ahhhh!!!! But, camping is great too!

DH is getting me a Kitchen Aid stand mixer, which might not seem that great, but I've been begging for one for several years now. I'm really excited. Those things are so expensive.

I personally don't have any plans. This will be the first time that I am actually a mother on mother's day. DH is not at all into presents or anything, so I might get a "Happy Mother's Day" at some point, but I'm not expecting anything else. It kinda makes me sad.

I'm pretty sure my husband has zero idea that mother's day is next weekend. Maybe he'll surprise me, but I doubt it. lol. So, no plans. I'm sure DH will use the day to study after church since he's now flying this new training plane.

Christa, totally jealous of your plans!!! Wink Enjoy your mixer though. I love mine. It really does make life in the kitchen so much easier.

My DH is clueless about Mother's Day. I highly doubt he's got anything planned.

Usually dh buys a card or we do something with the whole family like go to breakfast. This year Im going to tell him instead of a card he can let me sleep in on a day of my choice..I think it would be nice if he went all out but I dont really go all out for fathers day so I cant really complain..
