My Mum and Nanna are coming down to go for lunch with us tomorrow, but thats all at this stage. Hubby probably won't do anything for me or even acknowledge the day, he will be busy in the morning finishing his butter sculpture for the day at work.

I'm doubting any gifts, Mum might bring me flowers and I got her and Nanna a chocolate tulip each from Ronin. I was going to go buy myself a new mp3 player as a gift for myself but have to go to the dentist next week so that will likely cost a bit of money. I will get my gift Ronin made at daycare on Monday at their mothers day morning tea.

I'm currently eating breakfast before we hit the road for the beach! Hopefully it'll be a fun day today. DH did give me flowers yesterday. Smile

Absolutely nothing tomorrow. My husband has to go in for at least 4 hours. Hopefully I'll feel good again tomorrow so I can take Aiden to the park and maybe frozen yogurt.

it's going to be an amazing weekend here. i took Lucas to get his hair cut this morning and i had to take off the sweater that i put on him. After i put him down for a nap this afternoon i am taking off and going shopping. BY MYSELF! I am planning on buying only for myself, but I am sure i will find something for Lucas lol. I plan on enjoying it. Usually on Mother's day we get together with MIL and FIL and DH's brother, sister and their family and go somewhere for breakfast or lunch. Havn't heard anything yet, but I assume that will be happening. other then that I plan on enjoying the awesome sunshine!

My mom and grandmother both live here so I don't really get an all-about-me Mother's Day. We have a tradition of going to the park for a fried chicken picnic (shared guilty pleasure!). This year it's threatening to be over 100, though, so I think we'll drive up the mountain a bit to escape the heat! Adair has been working on a Mother's Day present at school. It's all wrapped up in the car--DH won't let me peek Smile

My Mom got me a card and some money to buy some plants for my garden. I suspect DH will give me a card from DD. I might try to go shopping to get my plants, but my SIL and her fiance are coming tomorrow night to spend a couple of days so I have a lot of cleaning I should do which may not leave time for shopping. Too bad no one has figured out how to add more time to the day-that would make a great gift for me, lol!

I absolutely did not expect anything at all for Mother's Day. The IL's came over today for a family lunch get together, which I expected since they do it every year. DH went out this morning to get cards for his mom and sister, but I didn't even think anything of it when that was all he came in the house with since I sincerely didn't think he'd even think to get me a card. Then, DH got Lyla to go outside with him (very typical) and she came walking back in with flowers for me! It was so cute! And DH gave me THE sweetest mother's day card! It made me cry.

It was a great day today with everyone here. Lyla had a blast, and everyone went gaga over Kole. Lyla missed her normal naptime though and when DH put her down for a nap, SIL was watching her roll around on the monitor. Well our 13 year old nephew thought it was neat and right as Lyla was relaxing and starting to fall asleep, he ran into her room just to jump up and down and wave his arms at the camera in her room!!!! It totally set Lyla off and started screaming and got off the bed would not stay in bed when we put her back in. She screamed and screamed and screamed! It was a complete nightmare! He didn't mean anything when he did that, he was just being funny and did not realize the drama his little stunt would cause, but I totally had a moment when I wanted to strangle him! Her screaming woke up Kole, who at 3pm had only slept for about 45 minutes since 7am! It was horrible, but everything before all that was nice. DH did all the cooking, except for what MIL brought over with her, and DH did all the clean-up. I haven't had to do a thing, but deal with the screaming kid aftermath.

Oh Anna I am so happy your hubby and Lyla (with help) made the effort. Sorry about the family ruining that small portion but the rest of it sounds wonderful.

Happy Mother's Day, Wendy! We trolled around the farmer's market this morning, went to see The Lorax, then went for pizza. T slept through most of the movie. I think she might be coming down with something :(. She feels a little warm and is kinda out of it and snuggly. DH wants to "go to Target" by himself this afternoon. So, he's clearly doing his usual last minute scrounging for something. Teagan and I are going to hang out on the back porch under the misters and splash in her kiddy pool. I think we're going out for breakfast tomorrow. No idea what we'll do after that. Its unbearably hot out there right now.

I just found out that Dh booked me a spa day tomorrow! One of the local spas is running a mother's day special with a body wrap, massage, and facial. I'm so excited! I found out about it early because his grandmother called and tried to guilt him into coming out with his mom to visit (with me and Rowan, of course) and having him make all of us dinner. That would be lovely, of course, if I felt like spending the day listening to his grandmother and mother fight. Lucky for me, he had already booked my surprise at the spa - I think that will be much nicer.

Just had lunch, my Mum did buy me flowers from Ronin and they are lovely. Hubby made me a chocolaye mousse so I will get lovely and fat and sick. Hubby actually has to work tonight now, he got asked as he was leaving so it's just Ronin and I. I may splurge with a bottle of wine and I think I may just have some soup for tea, not really hungry, and need room for that mousse

Enjoy your mousse, Wendy. Pop open that wine!

Sara, enjoy your spa day! I'm just a wee but jealous.

Gotta buy the wine first, I may go all out and get bubbly because that is a bit higher alcohol content it gets me giggly easily. Maybe if hubby is home early enough he will get a nice mothers day gift as well

Oy, what a day.

Teagan came down with a high fever last night. She basically nursed, slept, and snuggled from about 5-9pm and then I transferred her to her bed. I was so worried about her all night because I'd never not slept with her when she's had a fever but I thought it might be the best way for her to get the sleep she needed. She slept like a rock until 6:30am and woke up fever free and ready to go go go. I got to sleep in until 7:45. What a treat. DH gave me a sweet card from him and T while I sipped coffee. He gave me a certificate to get a massage whenever I want. We'd decided to try and go out for breakfast instead of having him make breakfast. I hopped in the shower and Teagan gave me her second present, a nice big poop in the shower. Then she gave me the present she made at daycare, a cute little pot she painted with a pic of her dressed as a flower and a necklace made of yarn and painted paper towel tubes complete with a locket made from a puffs container top with a picture of her eating paint. So cute! Highlight of my day. Then we went off to breakfast. The joint we picked had an hour wait so we killed time at a park nearby. Teagan wanted little to do with the playground and mostly just wandered. We went back to the restaurant, were seated, and tried to have a pleasant breakfast but Teagan had other plans. Serves us right for commenting yesterday on how she's become a good restaurant baby since she's starting eating solid foods. The other guests were giving us dirty looks. Clearly mothers aren't allowed a bit of sympathy on Mothers Day. The whole experience put me in a foul mood. Then we took off for the splash pad, which was a nice relief from the heat. It got up around 100 today. Teagan wanted little to do with splashing, instead preferring to eat animal crackers and jump on mommy. Finally, we headed to REI to try and spend my birthday gift certificate from last year and just wound up getting pissed off at the sales rep for being less than helpful. Perhaps he has mommy issues and sensed I was already in a foul mood and just wanted to make my day worse. Then we drove the 45 minutes home in a car that has poor AC. DH has been trying all day to put me in a better mood but by the time we got home I just wanted to hide in the bedroom, blast the AC, and take a nap. So nap I did. DH made up a grocery list, took T to the store, and is planning to make dinner when he gets back. I'm in a better mood now that I've cooled off, napped, and have a beer in my hand. I'll be in an even better mood when DH gets back and tells me how hard planning the weeks' meal and shopping with a toddler is. Vindication! Maybe I'll use that massage certificate tomorrow .....

Wendy, that sounds fun Smile
Stupid me didn't see this thread so I posted about my day in the chat thread.
Anna, I am so happy your dh did that for you! How sweet! I bet that made you feel tons better!
Sounds like everyone had a well deserved nice mothers day Smile
We went to visit my mom and went for our daily walk. It was so hot today so we got the kids some snow cones.. other than that, just a nice relaxing day.
The kids did get me a charm for my bracelet, which was very nice.
Hope everyone is still enjoying their day Smile

Erin, it's mothers day and people were giving you evil looks?! Their issue, not yours! It was your free pass day from cooking as far as I'm concerned. Glad she's feeling better!

I did get a card this morning from DH and Aiden. I told DH I wasn't cooking (I definitely over did it yesterday and have been paying for it today!) and he bought really bad Chinese food. My teriyaki chicken didn't taste like it had any teriyaki and I ended up adding my own from the fridge! Panda Express would have been better. Blum 3 So I then ate a big thing of coffee ice cream and I feel much better. DH was gone all afternoon as expected. Aiden was a little terror.

I used to be one of those people that gave looks, now i have a kid and understand.

I got a wii fit from DH, and Lucas made a paper star necklace thing, A flower with a poem that he coloured, and a mold of his hand print. He made them at daycare

Erin--grr, what a day!

Mine was pretty good. I got to sleep in until 7:00, wheee!, and then we got muffins at Epic. Same presents Erin got, except the pic was of CHEESE face, not paint eating. So cute. Then we went for our annual fried chicken picnic with my mom and grandmother, except this year we went up the mountain because it was so hot. It was fine--my mom annoys me but it wasn't too bad today and Addy was a total doll. By the time we got back I was ready for (and took) a nap too, though. Then we went family grocery shopping, and DH snuck back to buy me flowers on the sly. Cute. Smile Oh, and he also changed all the diapers today. All in all? I'll take it! Biggrin

I went camping all weekend with DH, LO and my parents. So it was nice to see my Mom on Mother's Day morning.
I got a sweet card and a locket coming next week. DH wanted me to pick it out.

I told DH what I wanted was the front flower bed to finally get landscaped. It was literally solid weeds and embarassing. So we spent all weekend getting the weeds out and getting the bed ready to be planted. I picked out the shrubs I wanted, and we got them in the ground yesterday afternoon. I am exhausted, but happy. No more weeds! We just need to get more mulch to finish it up.

That is awesome. If it wasn't already 100 degrees here I might have asked for the same thing...ours is in serious need of attention too!!

We have sooo many weeds in our bed too! I'm honestly surprised that base housing hasn't given us a citation for it yet. I was going to pick weeds Saturday night but DH wouldn't let me. It was a good call on his part since I was feeling so bad yesterday from overdoing it Saturday.
Sounds like it was a good present! Biggrin

Oh no, Addy came down sick this morning at my mom's (she was FINE before we brought her...weird!) I really hope whatever it is goes away as fast as Teagan's sickness this weekend...argh!

Jackie, it is a really good thing there is nobody to cite us for weeds. We'd be in so much trouble. We have a huge yard that can't be mowed (mostly dirt/rocks so you have to hand pull and weed whack) and no time. SIGH.

We're usually pretty good about keeping the weeds down in the front and the dogs keep them down in the back Wink

Oh no! I hope Addy feels better soon! What are her symptoms? Teagan really just had the random fever for about 12 hours. I think her throat is bothering her though as she is refusing to eat pretty much anything. Hand Foot and Mouth disease has been going around and I know that Sebastian had it last week. Teagan's already had that so I don't think that's what she had.

DH and I are thinking about just taking the day off to clean the house. Its a complete disaster!

I don't know--she has been acting 100% fine but she's been complaining about her face (???) for a couple of days--I just thought she was teething. Then my mom said this morning she was great at first, but then wouldn't eat and started pointing at her throat and saying "sick". Then she threw a meltdown over her missing water bottle and then passed out in my mom's arms--she said she feels very warm but hasn't taken her temp. Sounds like it COULD be the same thing...although to my knowledge she has not had Hand Foot and Mouth so maybe it's the beginning (pre-rash) of that. Ugh. Good to know what to look for, at least....and now that I think about it, she didn't eat much for dinner or breakfast, either.
