My Mum and Nanna are coming down to go for lunch with us tomorrow, but thats all at this stage. Hubby probably won't do anything for me or even acknowledge the day, he will be busy in the morning finishing his butter sculpture for the day at work.
I'm doubting any gifts, Mum might bring me flowers and I got her and Nanna a chocolate tulip each from Ronin. I was going to go buy myself a new mp3 player as a gift for myself but have to go to the dentist next week so that will likely cost a bit of money. I will get my gift Ronin made at daycare on Monday at their mothers day morning tea.
I'm currently eating breakfast before we hit the road for the beach! Hopefully it'll be a fun day today. DH did give me flowers yesterday.
Absolutely nothing tomorrow. My husband has to go in for at least 4 hours. Hopefully I'll feel good again tomorrow so I can take Aiden to the park and maybe frozen yogurt.

it's going to be an amazing weekend here. i took Lucas to get his hair cut this morning and i had to take off the sweater that i put on him. After i put him down for a nap this afternoon i am taking off and going shopping. BY MYSELF! I am planning on buying only for myself, but I am sure i will find something for Lucas lol. I plan on enjoying it. Usually on Mother's day we get together with MIL and FIL and DH's brother, sister and their family and go somewhere for breakfast or lunch. Havn't heard anything yet, but I assume that will be happening. other then that I plan on enjoying the awesome sunshine!
My mom and grandmother both live here so I don't really get an all-about-me Mother's Day. We have a tradition of going to the park for a fried chicken picnic (shared guilty pleasure!). This year it's threatening to be over 100, though, so I think we'll drive up the mountain a bit to escape the heat! Adair has been working on a Mother's Day present at school. It's all wrapped up in the car--DH won't let me peek![]()
My Mom got me a card and some money to buy some plants for my garden. I suspect DH will give me a card from DD. I might try to go shopping to get my plants, but my SIL and her fiance are coming tomorrow night to spend a couple of days so I have a lot of cleaning I should do which may not leave time for shopping. Too bad no one has figured out how to add more time to the day-that would make a great gift for me, lol!
I absolutely did not expect anything at all for Mother's Day. The IL's came over today for a family lunch get together, which I expected since they do it every year. DH went out this morning to get cards for his mom and sister, but I didn't even think anything of it when that was all he came in the house with since I sincerely didn't think he'd even think to get me a card. Then, DH got Lyla to go outside with him (very typical) and she came walking back in with flowers for me! It was so cute! And DH gave me THE sweetest mother's day card! It made me cry.
It was a great day today with everyone here. Lyla had a blast, and everyone went gaga over Kole. Lyla missed her normal naptime though and when DH put her down for a nap, SIL was watching her roll around on the monitor. Well our 13 year old nephew thought it was neat and right as Lyla was relaxing and starting to fall asleep, he ran into her room just to jump up and down and wave his arms at the camera in her room!!!! It totally set Lyla off and started screaming and got off the bed would not stay in bed when we put her back in. She screamed and screamed and screamed! It was a complete nightmare! He didn't mean anything when he did that, he was just being funny and did not realize the drama his little stunt would cause, but I totally had a moment when I wanted to strangle him! Her screaming woke up Kole, who at 3pm had only slept for about 45 minutes since 7am! It was horrible, but everything before all that was nice. DH did all the cooking, except for what MIL brought over with her, and DH did all the clean-up. I haven't had to do a thing, but deal with the screaming kid aftermath.

Oh Anna I am so happy your hubby and Lyla (with help) made the effort. Sorry about the family ruining that small portion but the rest of it sounds wonderful.
Happy Mother's Day, Wendy! We trolled around the farmer's market this morning, went to see The Lorax, then went for pizza. T slept through most of the movie. I think she might be coming down with something. She feels a little warm and is kinda out of it and snuggly. DH wants to "go to Target" by himself this afternoon. So, he's clearly doing his usual last minute scrounging for something. Teagan and I are going to hang out on the back porch under the misters and splash in her kiddy pool. I think we're going out for breakfast tomorrow. No idea what we'll do after that. Its unbearably hot out there right now.
I just found out that Dh booked me a spa day tomorrow! One of the local spas is running a mother's day special with a body wrap, massage, and facial. I'm so excited! I found out about it early because his grandmother called and tried to guilt him into coming out with his mom to visit (with me and Rowan, of course) and having him make all of us dinner. That would be lovely, of course, if I felt like spending the day listening to his grandmother and mother fight. Lucky for me, he had already booked my surprise at the spa - I think that will be much nicer.
