Anyone have a crystal ball? I need to know how big Teagan will be in the next 8 months or so. The JBF sale is coming up in a few weeks and I don't know what sizes to buy. The last one was easy because she was growing so dang fast. I just stocked up on the next 3 sizes (12m, 18m, and a few 24m/2T). She's pretty solidly in 18m stuff but I think she might stay in this size for awhile. Maybe even the whole summer. She's slimming down and she isn't all that tall so it's possible she'll fit into 18m stuff until this winter. Not that we actually have winter here but you get the idea. So, what do I do?! She's fine on summer stuff in 18m. Do I bother getting more 2T summer stuff? Do I get some fall stuff in 18m? Do I just get fall and winter 2T stuff? Do I bother with 3T? AAAAAAAaaaaahhh! What do I do?!? Once they are out of the rapid growth phase how long does it take to size up?
You really don't need to bother with 2T & 3T for sure....If anything maybe consider 24mo instead of 2T. The 2T & 3T would probably be way to long for her. (Miranda can still fit into some 3T stuff and mostly because she has no diaper anymore....but she is really lean too)
Delaney is close to 21 lbs....she is in 12mo and a few 9mo that I sqeeeze her chunks into. I plan on buying her 18mo for winter but when I get to this age (around 1) I buy mostly pants and tops that are seperate so I can mix and match sizes.
Ha ha! I know what you mean! I went to an outlet center with my MIL last Friday and she was trying to buy clothes for DS. I really wasn't sure what sizes to go for in what types of clothing. I have no idea where we'll be living next winter and if he needs a winter wardrobe or not. No idea what size he'll need. He's solidly in 12 month stuff and starting to need 18 months in onesies....but it's not like he's growing like he was. I ended up with 18 month summer and winter clothes and 24 months summer clothes. lol.

If you find a crystal ball, PLEASE let me borrow it, cause I am SOOOO far off right now on my previous guesses for Clara's sizes. There's no way I'm going to be able to guess the rest of the winter in order to get stuff at garage sales this fall.
Pants are a whole different ball game since we CD. Teagan is 21 lbs as well but she's in 18m stuff because of the extra bulk her diaper adds. Her pants have to be at least 18m if not 24m just to fit over her butt. Now that her waist is slimming down her pants fit over her diaper but don't come close to fitting her waist. They look pretty funny. It's one of the reasons I avoid pants as much as possible. Once you get to 18m or up it's hard to find one piece outfits. It's mostly dresses or pants. Dresses are fine and all but she has a hard time crawling in them.
I'm no help if I see a bargin I buy it, I have a solid size 1 wardrobe, just need bits and pieces like shorts and tees as I have a lot of onesies in size 1 (my aunt bought me a pack of 7 as a baby shower gift, which I thought were 0's so I went and got more onesies in size 1) and am working on a size 2 wardrobe. When do you plan on starting work on toilet training because once she is out of a nappy sizing will change a lot, a friends 4 year old can still fit in some size 2 pants because he doesn't wear a nappy. Also remeber that second hand clothes do fit a bit different because they have already stretched.
She will probably stay within the 18-24 month clothing size for a while. DS1 was a little bigger than Teagan at this age and stayed within the 12-18/18-24 month clothing until age 2. Then we went to 2T until well past age 3. Once he started moving and grooving he slimmed way down and just shot up in height. Yep, those fluffy cloth diapers throw everything off and once they are potty trained its like going back a few sizes so hang on to those pants for a while. I'd just browse the 18-24m section for fall/winter. You could also get dresses that fit her now and then layer with stretchy leggings and long sleeves under for the winter. I'd think leggings with a fluffy butt would actually be easier to fit. Wish boys could get away with leggings/stretch pants.
BTW, I need that crystal ball if you find one!

Erin, I'm delusional like you in wanting to do early potty training.Half of people I know say that it's very possible, the other half laugh at me as they say that it'll never happen.

It can happen, my plan is no nappies at all by age 2 (including night trained), just deciding when to start, but I am lucky daycare is also very comitted to helping when kids are toilet training. I'm hoping for day trained by 18months as well if possible, but with Ronin always wanting to be like the big kids he may be quite motivated when he moves to the toddler room because there are lots of toilet trained kids there.
