Default Oh, what a fun day it's been

So, after finally breaking down and telling my mom we booked the Mexico trip and getting a guilt trip from he!! from her about it, DS gets sick. Around 3 o'clock DS got up from his nap and wanted his sippy cup. He said his mouth itched. I looked in it and there were little red dots all over the roof of his mouth towards the back. 2 days ago he had a rash on his body, but it didn't hang out long and we still didn't have our a/c on yet (90 degrees and all) so we just thought it was heat rash. Now I'm not so sure. I called the dr's office and they wanted to know if it would be alright to make an appt tomorrow morning cause they didn't have anything today so I said sure, no problem, it doesn't seem too bad. Then, by 6 o'clock I noticed that he was dozing on the couch which is not like my little monkey. I checked his temp and sure enough it was 101. By around 8 o'clock it was up to 101.5 so it wasn't going up fast or anything, which was good. I got him to lay down and watch a movie, eat a little soup and just rest. It was down to 99.9 by the time he sacked out around 9:45. And to top it off, DH was gone all evening at work and just got home a little while ago.

On a good note, I steamed up some carrots and Clara sat and ate them all by herself tonight. It's the first time she's had the coordination to actually get some in her mouth. She was getting about 2 out of 10 at first, but by the end I'd say she was averaging 50% of them. She took a 3 hour nap after downing a 4 oz formula bottle and was happier tonight than she has been all week. Poor baby girl. Since I have to take DS in to the dr tomorrow, I'm going to corner him about my supply issues too, maybe he'll have some ideas. I have an appt set for myself, but it's not for another week. I'm ready to consistently have a happy baby back!

Rash in his mouth? I've never even heard of such a thing. Poor little guy.

Yay for Clara nomming her carrots! That's better than Teagan would do. She prefers to throw things at the dogs these days Three hour nap?! Those exist?

Poor guy. Hope he feels better soon. Is it hand, mouth, foot, that has a rash in the mouth? I can't remember.

Yay to her eating the carrots! Odin is killing me with refusing to eat anything solid or chunky. He only wants extra smooth stuff and gags himself on anything else. I was hoping to just go with finger food from the start. Anyway, I hope the doc. can help you figure out the supply issue.

DS is doing much better this morning. His fever is gone and I've got my jabber box little boy back. The spots are still there and the consensus is that it is Hand Foot & Mouth Disease, I guess we'll see when we go to the dr in an hour. If it is that, the chances of Clara getting it are pretty high since it's a virus passed on through saliva.

Erin- Clara was so funny. She would get a carrot piece in her hand and then forget within 2 seconds that she had it so she'd get to waving her hand and throw it. It looked like she was tossing food down to the puppy. Or she'd get a piece in her left hand and use her right hand to guide the left one to her mouth. DD1 and I were thoroughly entertained by her for quite some time

Glad he's feeling better. Hopefully he'll continue to improve!

So cute about the carrots. DS likes to hold food in both hands and go back and forth between the two with eating. He doesn't throw food down off his tray until he's done. I'm sure that'll change soon. Seems to be a "fun" phase all babies go through.

Good to hear that your little guy is doing better already.

I'm impressed Clara is 50%. We haven't ventured into finger foods yet.
