homemade is really easy though. Dh taught DD1 to make it so that's her fallback meal if i ask her to cook on short notice.

Never! We threw out our bachelor/bachelorette sets years ago. If I can't cook it in my cast iron pan it doesn't get cooked.

That's really sad. I understand strained relationships though. BTDT ... then she died.

This right here! I'm always looking up recipes, but very rarely follow them exactly.

I'm having a glass of Merlot. The sad part is that once I drink it I will have no more wine. All I'll have left is DH's Bud Light.

Well, she's actually a really good baby most of the time. She's generally very happy and has been since just before she hit 5 months. But every now and again we'll have these nights! So far she's never thrown a fit in public and anytime we've taken her anywhere she has been a complete delight! This has me worried and seeing vision of myself at the store with "that toddler"!

and by "that toddler" you'd actually be referring to my son Biggrin

I'm just wondering how anyone could possibly do it without their DH's around. I could NOT, no question! He's on his way to get me glass #3 of wine right now.

I keep telling DH that I'm okay with him taking this new job (and I am okay with the job), but I'm scared of how I will do without him in the evenings. Especially when it's night after night of him not being here.

Right so I go have a nice day with my Mum and Nanna and you all get chatty, Thanks. On the downside my around town pram broke today, good side we found one on clearance for $70 and it is pretty decent, just waiting to see if my Dad has the recepit for the broken one to see if we can reurn it and if they will only replace we will then take it to another store for money back if we can because the fact the way it broke it started collapsing with Ronin in it is not good.
Another good thing Mum was telling me about a 2004 Honda Oddessy she saw in the paper for a great price, hubby is interested, we can pay outright and when we rang up about it it's actually a friend of the family who is selling it. I just have to call Mum and she will go look at it tomorrow and take my brother for his say on it, but if it looks good we will have a new car very soon, like the next week or so.

You learn to cope. Thats the way it is 5 nights a week here and the other 2 I still do it on my own but hubby will cook dinner but thats about all. It's hard and some nights I just want to cry or get really drunk because after a full day at work and a rough night I can't take anymore.

We didn't get to the park because of the weather, but I had the most awesome wrap, it was ham chicken, carrot, lettuce, tomato, avocado and hollandaise sauce. It was freaking good.

I got my old baby record book today as well, it records all my vaccinations, weights, lengths, and head circs. I was a just above 50th%ile baby so Ronin gets his small from hubby, but I was also formula fed not bf. It also has milestones recorded, My first word was Dad at 6 months (almost exactly, I said it on Christmas Eve and was six months the next day), I walked at 11 and a half months and the rest I can't remeber and the book is down in the car. It's pretty fun to read it all and see how Ronin compares. Now to find hubby's to compare it all.

First set of company finally left.....and about 60 seconds after they walked out the door a random single guy friend of ours showed up. Soooo...I'm still up. *yawn* lol.

On the bright side, Aiden slept 4.5 hours straight earlier tonight!!! That's right, my son slept longer than 2-3 hours. There's hope that eventually he might even sleep *gasp* 6 hours! Maybe I'm too hopeful? And know what's even better? When he woke up I was able to get him to go back asleep IN HIS CRIB without crying. Beginning to wonder if something's wrong. Tonight has been way too smooth. Lol

Lol You should totally get her to be your DD!

My class reunion is in October. The tickets are $150 and the last date to buy them is in two weeks....I have no idea if I'll be available then! So apparently I'm not going. boo. Sad

I want to try tagliatelle, but I guarantee that I can't find it here in Hell. Blum 3 And YAY for making cornbread in an iron skillet! How did it taste? Smile

Some days you'll feel like superwoman for doing it all. Other days you'll take a shot as soon as she's asleep. Lol We'll complain together I'm sure at some point.

Yeah, I don't like playing around with baking too terribly much. I've gotten better and adjusting recipes over the years, but there's a limit! One small change and brownies become hockey pucks!

ANYBODY can make homemade mac and cheese!

You can substitute the whole wheat for regular pasta and all purpose flour.

"momW" wrote:

i'm a recipe cooker, DH is a taste cooker (does that make sense)? what is everyone else?

I taste like crazy sometimes! DH follows directions exactly. If it says cook for 3 minutes, he'll set a timer. If it says "stir" he will stir the entire time!!! He's not a very good cook. lol.

"TiggersMommy" wrote:

My Betty Crocker says that Yankee cornbread is sweeter than southern cornbread. What was with that "southern" recipe then?!

A lot of people think that any cornbread recipe is 'southern,' but it's not at all. True southern cornbread is made of white cornmeal and has no sugar. Though I make mine with yellow mostly and use 1-2 tablespoons of sugar normally. Just to beat back any bitterness there might be.

Wow $150 a ticket. I'm glad ours is very casual, they only sent facebook invites this week and it's at a pub very casual dinner if you want to and drinks I think.

Hmm I might try cornbread one day, anyone have a good recipe, and a good recipe for chili seeing as you say thats what it goes with. It's not a big thing here but Erin's cornbread looks good. Oh and for the chili a crock pot version would be awesome.

That's what keeps me going after nights like last night. Monkey went down hard at 6:30. She woke up at 10:30 and wouldn't have anything to do with sleep until about 12:30. Then she was up at 5:45 this morning. It's Saturday kid! I'm letting DH sleep in for a bit and then I'll take a nap when Teagan gets tired in an hour or so.
