What's your favorite drink to get at Starbucks or some other speciality drink place?

My favorite at Starbucks is Pumpkin Spice Latte when they get it in the fall. I learned how to make my own last fall though. I also like Skinny Vanilla Lattes.
Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has an amazing blended hazelnut coffee that I had like 3 times when I was in Vegas last.
I also miss living near a Jamba Juice. There's like a dozen things there that sound wonderful right about now. lol.

I'm not a coffee drinker, but in the winter, I occasionally get a mocha at Caribou Coffee.

I dont drink coffee either, or go to starbucks. I do enjoy Tim Horton's iced cappuccinos, but get them rarely. I usually just drink tea.

Ummmm, I'm not a big coffee fan at all; I just recently have had Tim Horton's; their french vanilla's are about as coffee as I get. I LOVE iced raspberry lemonade (I think that's what it is....) from Starbucks tho!!!

I used to get one called the Nutty Irishman from he coffee shop, but I haven't gone to a Starbucks or other coffee shop in over 5 years. That stuff is WAAAAAYY overpriced! I'm content with my morning coffee at home.

tall hot caramel macchiato, 1/2 syrup, 1/2 caff! we usually go to starbucks for date night, $10 for 2 coffees is better than $50 for dinner! plus we pay the sitter $25.

if i'm in the mood for a cold coffee drink I usually get a coffee frappucino without whipped cream.

I had a carmel apple cider from Starbucks once because my friend swore it was to die for. It was okay, I'd drink it again, but I wouldn't pay for it. I don't drink coffee or go to any of those places so I have no idea what you guys are even talking about in your posts Biggrin

I can't resist a strawberry banana smoothie from almost any smoothie place at a mall food court. Does that count?

I have no idea what that is, so they don't have it around here, but that doesn't really mean much, it's pretty podunk-y around here Smile

There's a random custard place in the BX here that has a WONDERFUL mango smoothie. YUM! I went there today and got an iced mocha latte with 2 expresso shots. I can feel the expresso rushing through my body and talked my pregnant friend's head off for 2 hours about baby stuff. Lol

I know not everyone does coffee, so that's why I said other specialty drinks. I totally consider smoothies, teas, etc to be in the same category. Biggrin

I googled it, those are all up and in Chicago. That's not part of Illinois (at least according to us southern Illinoisians Biggrin )

My favorite is a Cinnamon Dolce Latte. Mmmmmm. But honestly, if you give me anything w/ coffee in it I will love it no matter what flavor it is!

I also LOVE Caramel Frappes from McDonalds. Plus they are 1/2 the price of a Starbucks Frappacino, can't go wrong there!

Is it bad that my fave "specialty" drink has alcohol in it? We have a Cajun's Wharf in Little Rock and their spec. drink is a play-de-do. FABULOUS!!!!

Of course not!!! Welcome to October Biggrin Wait, if we're talking about speciality drinks from anywhere, my vote is for this peach-y drink at Garfield's. I don't know the name of it because my BFF, myself and her sister renamed it "The Twisted Sisters" after a night of great fun and make them often under the new name Biggrin Oh, good times. They are yummy. If I can remember the name, I'll edit and add it. It's the kind of drink that even fruity drink haters like me can enjoy because of the shear amount of alcohol in it (not because I'm a drunk, but because the amount of alcohol masks the straight sugar taste that permeates all fruity drinks I've tried).

Totally the kind of fruity drink I like! Last weekend DH made me go out and socialize (he even voluntarily wore the baby on his back!). This guy was making strawberry daiquiris. I told him it needed more rum. Tasted fantastic then. The other two wives that were there complained that it had too much alcohol because it took away from the overly sugar taste. lol. I can't stand overly sweet fruity drinks at all. All the sugar gives me a headache!

Okay, my liquor loving friends, I have a couple drink recipes for you.

Twisted Sisters

1 oz peach schnapps
1 oz chardonay
1 oz bacardi rum
3 oz peach puree
1/2 oz merlot
Blend with ice and serve. If you want to get fancy, keep the merlot aside and you're supposed to swirl it into the glass and make this pretty little darker swirl when you serve it, but really, when you're drinking these, who has time!

Now, these are pretty potent as you can see from the fact that the liquor outweighs the non-liquor Smile Garfield's (the restaurant) calls them something different, but the name Twisted Sisters fits soooooo good, especially when you're sitting around drinking them with your girlfriends. We found this recipe just before our wedding's (BFF and I got married just months apart) and served it at our bridal showers. I'm pretty sure the only reason anyone showed up to mine was because they got a taste of these at hers and wanted more LOL!

Another goodie that of course has been renamed from its original is something that the originating restaurant itself will only serve two of these to patrons. We of course sweet talked the bartender in our best sober impersonation to give us more than that, but really, what do you expect to happen when you set 5 women loose from their children and husbands for an extended weekend alone in Destin FL Biggrin

The Mime Maker (it got its name because my speech was pretty impaired after drinking these deliciously yummy nectar of the Gods drinks and I was relegated to hand gestures for talking, at which point, I gave up and just pretended to be in a box, you know, like a mime)
originally called The Irish Wake, which is true enough itself. It originates from a restaurant called McGuire's in Destin Florida (also in a couple other locations) which I highly suggest going to if you ever have the chance, the food rocks and the drinks will kill you (in a good way!).
Crushed ice
1 tbsp gold rum (premium)
1 tbsp "151" rum (this is the a$$ kicker)
1/2 c freshly squeezed orange juice
1 tbsp blue Curacao
1 orange slice
1 green maraschino cherry (neither of the last two are necessary)

Pour over crushed ice and kiss your sensibility good bye. Oh, don't forget the babysitter cause you do not want to be in charge of anyone else while drinking these Smile

Both of these are really easy to make. We usually make up a pitcher full of the liquid portion and then fill the blender with ice and pour in the liquid from the pitcher, blend and serve.

My BFF loves the fruity drinks, especially strawberry daquiris. No thanks, make mine a straight rum with a splash of pineapple juice Biggrin I'm not a dessert eater normally either though. Of course I have my weaknesses, mmmm, cheesecake, but no matter the dessert, I cannot eat much of it, little nibbles and that's enough for me. I'm just not that into the sweet sugary taste, bleh! Too much alcohol.... they barely put anything in them when you drink them out somewhere, pshh!

Oh if we're talking alcoholic drinks lol : The Wallaby Darned at Outback- its peach flavored too. And to make at home a midori sour. Which is a melon flavored liquor and sweet & sour mix, over ice.

On the two occassions I have been to Starbucks (the closest one is about 1000kms away) I liked their green tea latte (might have been chai as well, it was about 2 years ago). My choices here are Gloria Jeans and McCafe and I tend to get a caramel latte. I also like white hot chocolate.

Now alcoholic, I used to love strawberry laybacks. You take the middle out of a strawberry, fill it with kahlua IIRC, top with whipped cream, then if you are getting them at a bar you lay back over the bar and the barman pops it in your mouth, hence the name strawberry laybacks. I have served them at a party before without the need to layback on the bar and they taste just as good.
