What's an event that you're looking forward to or counting down to? (Other than your LOs 1st birthday. :p)
In 2 months and 1 day my husband will have his class drop night. That night we will find out in front of everyone what plane he will be flying for his career and where his first operational squadron will be! I'm starting to see the light at the end of this tunnel. Of course he could have up to another 2 years of training, but hey shortly after drop we should get orders getting us out of hell and to another base for more training!!!!
In around November I get a pay rise. the sad thing though is I am almost at the top of my pay scale and once I hit that unless I change roles there is no more advancement, and where I am now there is little chance of advancement anyway.
hmmmm...... we have too much that I'm looking forward to....
We have a neighborhood block party with a cookout, swimming and a HUGE fireworks display next weekend. I also have a bachelorette party that same night that I'm going to for a while. We have a wedding the following weekend that I'm looking forward to. The weekend after that we are going on a 2 hour road trip to get some of the best peaches in the nation. It's also the same weekend as the county fair which is always fun. The weekend after that is the big church picnic, and a lot of people that don't live here anymore come back to town for it. One (extended) weekend in October we are heading down to Alabama to see my brother, SIL and new nephew!!!
But, my favorite time of the year is just around the corner and I cannot help but count down the days until..........DEER SEASON (shotgun) opens!!!!!!! Can I get a woop woop?!
We have lots going on in the coming months.
Our BIG ones (finishing grad school) are so far away there's no point in counting down. Plus, our finish dates are so questionable I wouldn't even know what to start the count down at. I'm sticking with short term excitement until then. We're going to San Diego next month and I plan to hit up the San Diego Zoo! I'm a huge zoo freak so that's pretty darn exciting. Also, in a few weeks I should hear whether or not the grant I helped write was funded.
There are more things coming up I am NOT looking forward to. Such as turning 30 and starting the new semester. OK, so nerdy me is looking forward to the new semester but lazy me is dreading it.
Jackie- Any chance you'll get transferred to Tucson?! I have no idea what they do at Davis Monthan AFB but they fly a lot of planes! I would be one excited welcoming party!
I'm counting down the days till the bar exam: 11 (including today). Exam is on the 26 & 27, then I am free!!!!!! And unemployed, but mostly free. I'll get my life and my sanity back (I hope).
Im looking forward to Graduating! I will be done Febuary 2nd... Well that is the last day of my last class online! Then I will be looking forward to go back to work as odd as that sounds. I just would like to make money again.. I hate feeling poor..
I'm counting down the days until DS1 comes home from San Diego (2 days) as he has been visiting on his own from the past 1.5 weeks. I don't have a set date yet but looking foward to moving my preschool out of my home and into its own building/center so we can take on more clients. My goal date is next Spring 2012.
I'm looking forward to your bar exam so that Teagan and Rowan can play while we rock climb!
Hubbys birthday next month... and we have a few trips planned over the next few months..and football!
Wow!! Everyone is so busy!!! I don't think we have any overly exciting coming up... Hmmm... My life is so boring... LOL!
One of DHs top choice planes would take us there! They do A-10 training and have an operational squadron there. There are a few other planes that could take us there too eventually, but he wouldn't be as happy in those cases. lol.
to the bolded!
You have a daughter, you're not unemployed....you're on maternity leave LOL!
Yay! OK, now I'm excited! We're really close to the base too. Its still stinking hot here but at least Tucson is waaaay cooler than Del Rio. We have stores that sell stuff!
I would like to make a side wager. When Jackie finally gets to a town that doesn't think Walmart is the only store there ever was, she is going to go crazy buying stuff for Aiden
Jackie, do you remember what it was like to have shopping options?!

Only because I just spent 3.5 weeks back in the Memphis area! lol. When I first got to my parents I seriously bribed DS with a new red ball and spent an hour walking around Target (I didn't buy hardly anything either lol). My MIL bought Aiden a bunch of clothes, so I had lots of fun buying girly clothes for a friend who is expecting a girl Nov 1st. Let's see I went by Bed, Bath, and Beyond twice while there. Target 3 times. Kohl's twice. JC Penny's twice (thought we technically have one of those here, it's like the world's smallest with like 5 purses, 3 racks of clothes lol). I even bought two nice dresses for DH's graduation events from Macy's. The mall 3 times. Toys R Us twice (and somehow I didn't buy anything for Aiden there). It was an exciting 3 weeks.
