How often do you read to your LO? What are some of your favorite books to read to them? Smile

I still read to Aiden 2-3 short books before each nap. DH reads one longer book to him before bed. Aiden has started bringing me books while playing for me to read. At some point each day I catch him on his back using his feet to hold the book as he turns pages with his hands!

His current favorites are I Love You Stinky Face, I Love You Through and Through, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, and Thidwick the Big-Hearted Moose.

I am a horrible mom; I haven't really read to Sophie... If I'm reading a bedtime story to DD1, Sophie will be in the room w us... but she's normally more interested in what she can jam in her mouth than what I'm reading. I've tried to read books to her, but she gets all crazy and starts squealing (in a good way) and chucks the book across the room and laughs... or she'll start flipping the pages back n forth, back n forth... not caring what I'm reading... Oh, we have some of those moments - especially during play time! Before sleep is one of the few times Aiden is calm enough for me to make it through a book. My next door neighbor told me that the only time she can read to her son (he's 11 months) is as soon as he wakes up from his nap. If she waits, he'll try to destroy! lol.

I need to get some better books. I have Disney books like Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella and those are waaaaay too long to try to read to Lyla. And there are too many words on a page, she starts squirming away and crawling off or she tries to destroy the book. Needless to say, reading is very infrequent.

I noticed it Jackie. I actually meant to say something about it in my post, but I'm only capable of limited thought at this point and forgot by the time I answered the question. . .

I try to read a bedtime story most nights, but lately he has been all over the place and going to sleep earlier some nights than others and other nights much much later.

Every night. He loves Aliens Love Underpants. He smiles and laughs at it. He also likes turning the pages so I have to read at super fast, it makes him giggle. I wish I had time to read to him more but DS1 just jumps all over me

We read every night before bed. His favourites are Grumpy Bird and Moo Baa La La La. I love how he stops and pays attention the whole time. Smile

DS loves to read during the day so she's usually sitting here while I read to him. But she honestly doesn't care, doesn't pay any attention. My favorite books for LO's though are "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom", "Down By The Cool of The Pool" and "Going on a Bear Hunt". Those are wonderful baby/toddler books!!! I try to buy a copy of one of the first two for baby showers.

We read some here and there, but no definite times. We may have to start doing some night time reading though.

not as much as i would like to. a lot of times when i am trying to read to him he grabs the book and shoves it into his face. he just wants to stare at the pages. we have a lot of books that are just one worded on each page, but i don't like reading those at bedtime. we have some sesame street books, the very hungry caterpillar, i'll love you forever etc...

Teagan has so many books. My Mom is a librarian, we have like three elementary school teachers in the family, and we're nerds so we buy a lot of books. She mostly chews them and flips the pages back and forth. Her favorites are touch and feel books. Her absolute favorite is That's Not My Dragon. I can tell her to go get her dragon book and she'll go pull it off the shelf and bring it to me! I read her a couple of books a day, usually during play time right when we get home from daycare. She's too cranky to deal with books by bedtime. Sometimes I'll read her a few while she nurses to sleep.

Other books she likes (and that I really like):
10 Little Lady Bugs
What Makes a Rainbow
Heads (awesome book!)
Big Mouth Frog

Odin gets read to a handful of times during the day with our preschool kids and when we read to DS1. He loves books with animals pics in them the most. We have more books that is right to own and I don't know that he has a specific favorite.

I read to Rowan everyday. In the last few weeks we've made the shift from law books to actual children's books (we read the children's books before too, but law predominated).

For reading, she loves Ten Little Ladybugs, That's Not My Dinosaur, and The Very Hungry Caterpillar. For eating, she loves What Makes a Rainbow and Wet Pet, Dry Pet. She has literally devoured parts of those books, but keeps the others out of her mouth.
