RQOTD Saturday 12/31/11

Am I allowed to ask a RQOTD? lol

I'm just curious about the exciting things everyone knows/thinks/hopes will happen for them or their family in 2012?
It could be TTC? Pregnancy? New baby? Moving to a new place? New job? Vacation plans? Starting school? Graduating from school? Or anything you find exciting!

What do you think 2012 will hold for you?

DH will get a new job. We will have a baby boy. And if things go well we could possibly move into a new house.

TTC! Pregnancy would be nice. Wink Moving to NC in March. Hope to find a rental house with glorious carpet and a kitchen bigger than a postage stamp. My husband will be an official pilot for his plane right before the end of 2012 too. There's a lot of potential for good stuff this year. Smile

I always get bummed on New Years because I spend my time thinking back over the year and everything that has passed. So this year I am trying a new tactic - looking forward to the things to come!

DH will have enough hours to get his next license (assuming he also passes his licensing test, which he will), and will likely bring with it a promotion. It probably won't pay much more than he's making now, but will be great experience and a new challenge.

I doubt we'll go on a vacation this year, as we are saving for our first Disney vacation, which will likely happen in 2013. I have never been, so I am more excited to go than the kids, I think! So 2012 will probably involve lots of saving, planning, and at some point booking that trip.

Maybe, maybe, maybe TTC. I am having a hard time finding a timeline that works well with grad school and still keeps our kids somewhat close in age. DD1 turns 5 in June, so ideally I'd like to have #3 before her 6th birthday. But I have a summer of grad school fieldwork ahead of me, which involves traipsing through streams wearing waders and collecting data in the brutal heat. So that makes pregnancy this summer difficult.
And we still haven't 100% decided. Logically just sticking with the 2 kids make sense, but the heart wants what the heart wants.....

I would love to graduate next December, but it is highly unlikely. I'll probably graduate with my masters in the spring of 2013.

I hope to use 2012 to finally figure out what I want to do with my life. My graduate program just sort of happened to me, and I'm finishing it because I'd be letting a lot of people down if I didn't. But it's not really the field I want to dedicate my life to. After planning and having my natural VBAC, I feel like I really should be doing something in the birth realm. I'd love to be a doula when my kids get a bit older. I have also contemplated becoming a certified childbirth educator, or a breastfeeding educator, or a hypnobabies instructor. When I'm done with grad school I'd like to start my own ICAN chapter in my area, too.

Well...

DS1 starts pre school on Wednesday. I don't know if I'm upset or excited. Excited because I get 15 hours a week with just me and Tobey. That's 15 hours a week where I don't have to answer 68838466458837 questions, or tell him off for being stupid, or moan at him for not eating....but that's also 15 hours a week I'll be away from my baby, with someone else looking after him when I could be doing it and I'll miss him loads. Also he's going to miss out on going to mother and baby group which he really loves because all his friends are there. I know he'll make new friends but it will be strange without him there Sad

Other things...I'm hoping DH gets promoted then we can start saving to move into a bigger house Smile

Not much else apart from that.

No big known plans here, maybe start ttc, I am terrified I will have too big an age gap between my kids and Ron in will end up too jealous of a new baby because he is a total mummy's boy. There is some scope for me to do some acting roles in higher positions at work, and with some questions I was asked a few weeks ago it could be likely one could be for awhile. Hubby will be one year closer to finishing his apprenticeship which is a good thing as well. There aren't likely to be any holidays or anything because they are too expensive and hubby isn't likely to get leave the same time as me anyway, but his cousin is coming to visit us

Well....unless plans change, start TTC in November (sorry Sarah). Hopefully go on a family vacay with my parents, brother's family, and sister around September. We will probably do something with just the 3 of us if that falls through. Watch a couple of Cardinals games in STL, and I hope to go to New Orleans in the early summer. I'm wanting some of that food, and I love the atmosphere!! (quarter, market, and riverwalk, not so much bourbon street anymore).
