SOS! Need crafty idea!

Since we're visiting family for the holidays I suppose I should bring gifts ;). I got away with just sending nice pics of Teagan last year and mini wedding albums the year before. I feel like bringing pics again would just be cheating. I do not have time (nor would DH be happy with the funds required) to get everyone some personalized gift. I'd MUCH rather make a generic gift that will be inexpensive and cute. I need to be able to whip them out in about a week. Oh, and I can't sew or knit. Ideas??

Ornaments? Teagan could paint them all an ornament which would be super cheap if you make and bake your own salt dough for them!

I was going to offer to teach you to knit or crochet, but the ornament idea is better. Go with that.

I'll take you up on that offer at some point. I doubt I can learn how to make anything in time. The ornament idea sounds fun. Teagan loves to get messy.

I saw an adorable idea for ornaments...you get the clear glass balls (or in our case, the plastic ones) and you use acrylic paint to put Teagan's handprint on it! Get some cute ribbon for the hanging part, a Metallic marker to write her name and the year, and you're done! (You could even stuff a picture of her inside the ball.)

Ohhh, those sound totally cute!
I'm a cheat and totally do pics every year in cheap frames from Michaels or Walmart. The relatives always love them.

This year I'm thinking of getting some paper white bulbs and putting them in a mason canning jar with some pretty rocks. I'll attach directions for growing right out of the jar and put some burlap to cover the lid. We went to a 1st bday party where the host did a similar thing only with soil and cosmo seed packet in the jar. Her daughter's middle name is Cosmos. I'm totally stealing the idea and altering it.

I have the perfect gift but if you cant sew it might be a little tricky.. You will need

Rice and fabric!! Tada

You will cut out a rectangle shape and sew it on 3 sides, one short side and the two longer sides. Then you feel that with rice and then sew the top. You can make a cute little note telling what it is for which is an ice pack or heating pack.. You can stick in teh freezer or microwave for a minute. It works really well. I made a ton of these a few years back for Christmas and everyone loved them..Im sure there is a link on it somewhere.

I made a giant rice sock for myself last year! It required zero sewing! Hmmmm.... maybe something to think about.

Salt dough ornaments! Put her handprint in it, bake it and then let her paint it!
