STTN!!

So is anyone LO not sleeping through the night yet??

Natalie is killing me! Seriously I feel so bad but dh and I are almost willing to get ear plugs and put them in at night. She was sleeping through the night totally around 12th month. Usually it would be from 8-4am. and then back down till 8am. I guess I consider that STTN since its a very long period of sleep. Now she back up at 12, then at 4, then at 8. Last night she went to be at 8, then dh got her at 2am, and he said she stayed awake for an hour. Then she was back up at 4:30, and then she woke back up at 8am. She BF before bed, then had a bottle, then dh fed her a bottle at 2, and gave her one when he laid her down at 3, I fed her at 430 and back up at 8.. What is going on with her..

Sounds so bad but tonight is her last chance.. HA.. I might just have to let her CIO the entire night after tonight because I dont see how she can possibly need to eat that much at night, and I know the more she wakes up at night the more it becomes routine..

Help me Mommmas!

Growth spurt or teething perhaps? Is there anything out of the ordinary going on recently, even small changes?

Aiden was STTN most nights till DH left a month ago. Aiden has STTN once since then. Most of this past month he's been up anywhere from 3-8 times at night! There were a few nights where he screamed and nothing I did helped. I don't know what was going on with him with that, but apparently dad being away really upsets him. He's doing better this week only getting up 2-3 times at night. If I could kill the cat I bet he'd only get up once a night. Blum 3 However, I know he's teething right now and these teeth are taking their sweet time coming through - I can see them on the sides, but they've still got a long ways to go. UGH! It's really normal to be STTN for a bit and then not again sadly. Aiden asks to nurse (baby signs) in the middle of the night when he wakes up, but I know he doesn't need it. I just try to remind myself that he's getting up less now than he was last summer and that eventually he'll be back to STTN.

we have the same issue but it is very random. Some nights he will sleep the whole night I can put him down at 7 and not hear a peep until morning. Other nights he will wake up around 2 or 4. I do give him a couple of ounces when he wakes up otherwise he starts screaming and will NOT go back to sleep.:(

Isabelle has also been waking up more frequently at night this last week and I am pretty sure it is because of teething. She wants to nurse forever and I will usually give in and offer a bottle, but sometimes she doesn't even want that, just wants to nurse. I guess she finds it comforting, just wish it was as relaxing for me!

Lainey has STTN 3 - yes THREE - times TOTAL since she was born over 14 months ago (and I count STTN as just 6 hours straight). She is a lousy sleeper as has been from the moment she was born. She wakes up b/c she wants to be with us, but if we bring her into the bed she's such a light sleeper she's up all the time.

And guess who just woke up. I totally jinxed myself.

Kristi, don't worry, Aiden has already been up once tonight. He only lasted two hours! Usually his first stretch is his longest too. I had to change his diaper, read him 2 books, and then finally he was willing to submit to going back to sleep.

Is there a sleep regression around 12-14 months no one told us about?! Blum 3

This is Ronin, although he has slept 5 hours at the most and that has been three times tops. I have no hope he will ever sleep through.

On and off. More on than off. Last week he spent a few nights getting up every hour. And one of those days he was up for the day at 5. But I've been giving him pain killers before bed and he's been sleeping better again

He's doing something babies nearly a year younger are doing though, rolling over and getting stuck. He learned to roll front to back at 3 months but he seems to have forgotten

Sophie's been sick, so she's been coughing constantly at night and it's been waking her up. So we've had some rough nights here too... She'll go to sleep around 8-9p but cough herself awake around 10ish and then stay up until midnight, then back up at 2a sometime she can fall back asleep w a little help from us, other times she's up until 430a and then she'll sleep till around 8a... it's starting to wear thin on us too; but I know sooner or later the cold will pass and then we'll have to work to get her back into better sleeping habits as she'll have become accustomed to her sick routine... but sooner or later she'll get there and sttn and then it will be wonderful. LOL!

Odin had a really rough month of sleep recently, even though he had been sleeping through most nights, that is just getting better. It totally went along with the time frame of him starting to walk. He would be up at night like at 3 or 4 which was odd for him and was only napping like 30 min. a day. Now that he is totally on the move and sleep is getting better. He had a really bad night one night this week but then the next day he started running so I don't know if that was part of it. I swear big developmental milestones totally wack out their sleeping. Its like they can't settle down when there is something big to practice.

Is she at the verge of mastering something big right now?

I NEVER thought of how Aiden learning to walk (and run *sigh*) could be a reason behind some of his sleep disturbances. Makes sense though because I remember sleep getting worse when he was working out crawling and again with cruising. Okay kid, the skill is mastered enough, time to sleep! Blum 3

STTN? LOL
DS did not sleep through the night until he was almost 5. He still doesn't STTN, he's just gotten beter at staying in his bed.

Juliet goes to bed around 7. Then we wake her up at 9:30 (if she does not do it her self). She gets a snak and plays for an hour. Then I put her back to bed. She is up at 3 for a feed. Then back down to 5:30 or 6:30.

If we do not wake her at 9:30, when she wkes up at 3, she is up for an hour and a half. Whit the wake up, she is up for about 20 minutes and sleepy, not in a bounce around play mood.

Haha! Teagan has STTN ONCE. By that I mean 9pm- almost 5am and that's a good three hours more than a usual good night. Last night was pretty typical for the past week or so. She goes down around 7:30, up at 9:30, up at 11:30, comes into bed around 2am, nurses off and on until she's up at 7:30. We've started sending DH in to sooth her back to sleep before midnight. I'd make more of an effort to get her to sleep in her own room but with the holiday break and travels coming up it seems kinda pointless. I think we'll go with the send Daddy technique starting after we get back from visiting my family in January.

A bunch of moms I know with wee littles around this age have complained of sleep issues lately. Its got to be a developmental thing. When Teagan started walking her sleep suffered. She's been making cognitive leaps lately so I think that's contributing to the recent "regression".

ETA: I feel like a giant human pacifier most nights! I've had fleeting thoughts of actually introducing a pacifier but I know she'd either refuse it or become addicted to it until she's like 10. Just my luck.

Last night was so much better. The night before was HELL. The day I wrote this post, yeah that night was like torture, but it doesnt help that she was pooping all night. Last night I think she was so exhausted from no sleep the day before. She slept from 9:20 till 8:30..
