Swimming!

I'm so jazzed. Teagan has her first swim lesson tomorrow!

Who else is taking swim lessons this summer?

Yay!! I hope you girls have a good time at lessons. We are not doing them this summer, or at least we haven't talked about it yet.

Lainey did a parent and baby class in April/May. DD1 is taking swim lessons now (a continuation of the classes she took during the same term that Lainey did hers). We're hoping she becomes independently buoyant soon.

Have fun!

I won't be able to start Ron in until he is three because our pool doesn't run lessons for under threes on Saturdays. I may skip lessons altogether though, they charge ten dollars o'er lesson for a half hour lesson here

Teagan had a blast. I got there a few minutes early and she ran around in the little splash pad area. There was just one other little swimmer in her class, a 10 month old boy. I think she benefited from the small class size. It takes her a few minutes to warm up to group activities and the class is only 30 minutes. We blew bubbles, did some mommy assisted back floating, clung to the side and shimmied across, jumped into mommy's arms from the side, and practiced kicking. The little 10 month old was doing just as well as T! She was more interested in chewing on the little fish rings the teacher gave her than really participating but she had fun. I have a feeling she's going to start making it difficult to leave after just 30 minutes. Smile

That sounds like fun!! I bet you're right about her not wanting to leave after 30 minutes.

Yay, I'm glad she had a blast!
We are just doing backyard swimming this year, no lessons.

no lessons here, but hoping to make it to the lake to swim often this summer. Smile

Sounds like the lesson went great!

Glad she liked it! Lainey didn't care for her class, though now that big sis is taking lessons and she isn't, of course she is asking to swim, too. She always begged to get out that whole time she was in the water ("I want all done! I want all done!") and would just cling to who ever had her in the pool (sometimes me, mostly DH)
